Southern's Little Garden Of Health & Healing

Great to watch an epic plant grow.
Yield is an excellent goal when growing.
Growing's therapeutic attributes are equally as important to me.
thanks! Something I haven't really talked about yet is that we've been going back and forth since November to figure out what's going on with my wife's health and FINALLY next week we should be getting an answer...but there's a lot of anxiety because all of the preferred diagnoses were hoping for have been ruled out...
UGH!
Needless to say that big Afghani may be ready just in time to medicate a REALLY sick person :(

Last night I checked on the garden and everything is doing well!
The supplemental light us helping the outer colas catch up however my overzealous training seemed to have worked a little too well as the branches that are behind were under a bit of resistance from the lines so ive been loosening a lot of them. Tonight i may remove them altogether if not needed anymore.
Lots of buds stacking up and more trichs popped up overnight!

Tonight I did it...I removed all of the strings and wires on the monster scrog!
Wow, she looks kinda naked without them!
Did a little more cleanup underneath the canopy just to keep the best buds up top.

Speaking of...it may still be a little soon but I'm pretty sure I saw two tiny white hairs on the Pakistani #2 clone in the bloom room. So that now makes 3 female northern lights and 2 female Pakistani plants. Honestly was hoping one would be a male so I could thin out the veg tent a little, but it's okay. I wasn't planning to but I may keep a few cuttings of the strongest northern lights and send the rest in to bloom and finish out the pheno.
Hopefully by this time next month some of those veg girls will be in the bloom cabinet.

Pretty sure my little dehumidifier took a dump on me. The fan is making a loud wurring sound and the lights flicker a little when it's running. Yeah, it got deleted. Not that is was doing a whole lot but I think I got my $30 out of it over the past 4 years.

Veg tent is looking good, kinda crowded and looks like the girls need more training and trimming.

Last night it was time to dig into the veg tent for some long overdue maintenance. Each plant was removed, inspected, cleaned up and given a little training. Most of them are due for up potting but I'm really trying to push it another week or two closer to the monster scrog's harvest. Would really like to get the purple haze into a 7 gal before flowering. Wasn't planning to keep clones from her as i recently restocked my PH seeds, but...why not keep her around? She's been a very happy and healthy specimin.

Speaking of the monster scrog, she's looking great! I don't think this strain is supposed to have massive buds but that's ok because she has over 100 colas and they're already getting pretty frosty with about a month left to go!

Hey everyone, it's been a while since posting as things have been turned upside down. Wife officially has cancer but her medical team is optimistic as long as we move quickly to blast it while she's still in stage 1. But that means lots of scrambling to last minute appointments, prep, sitting on hold with insurance, etc.

Despite being a little neglected garden is doing well. The veg tent is overcrowded and needs some love and the monster scrog is in her last week or two.
She doesn't have the biggest buds but i wasn't expecting that from a fast finishing afghani. Started her thurs on some winter frost by new millennium and you can definitely smell her from outside the garage!
Enough chatter, here's some pics...

Looking beautiful southern!
I’m very sorry to hear the news of your wife my friend!! I know everyone has there own path way in life and being in the dark hole myself not knowing the outcome of what’s to come having someone around with positive and a loving attention is the only healing medication that helped me, other than Finding the art of medicating myself by my own garnden. Stay medicated my friends and can’t wait to see your garden once that giant is ready to harvest!!:passitleft:

Hi everyone, just a quick update...
Still figuring out Mrs Cough's treatment plan, one Dr wants to start chemo and radiation right away and another wants to operate on her right away...hopefully they'll wrap up their little (you know what) measuring contest and get us on the right path soon!!
Anyhoo on to the garden...
The monster scrog is getting closer and closer to harvesting. She's finally putting on a little weight and her trichs are looking great. A few random ambers, majority cloudy and maybe 15% still clear. Will be keeping a close eye the next few days. Mrs asked for it to not be too heady so waiting a little for the clear trichs to catch up won't be an issue.
Been feeding her only winter frost this week and she's starting to get very sticky and fragrant! Had to add another filter to the bloom room just to stop the aroma from reaching the driveway!
Mrs also asked how soon until the purple haze would be ready and i was like "erm, 3 months +/-" and she was like what?? I thought you were going to start it months ago??"
Yeah, about that Afghani from last summer...LOL
Soon babe, soon, she'll be going into bloom as soon as the afghani is done.

Speaking of...i noticed some speckled leaves and looked underneath to find out that the spider mites are back! Gah!!
Been removing the damaged leaves and will have to give the bloom room a good cleaning as well as a thorough drench of the veg tent residents.
Gonna be a long, crummy summer if i don't get these bastards under control...
Trim day is going to be real fun. Counted 108 colas +/-...what was i thinking???

Wishing you and the Mrs. the best! Deep breaths! It's really cool how the canopy has almost conformed itself around the light in a plant hug.

Isn't it? At first i was like "shoot, i need more light!" But now it just looks really cool, like trees in a valley or something.
Lesson learned though...this is too crowded. It's been tough to manage air flow and pests. Keep finding water droplets and whiteflies between leaves and if i don't get to them in time the water droplets turn into mold patches!
Not good.
I've got a northern lights and a purple haze ready to go and will be training them just not this crazy! Other plants in the que will be getting some crazy stuff done to them once mama gets a solid stash of meds on hand to ease her through treatment.
Plot twist, since the cancer is on her lymph nodes (neck) they will be blasting it daily with radiation and destroying her throat...so medicating her should be a challenge with no smoking, vaping, and barely being able to swallow...because of her dry mouth sublingual meds may damage her teeth. Also, because of her cardiac history she can't do stuff like mct or coconut oil. Maybe some sort of infused olive oil in her food or something?

Well, on Valentine's day i presented Mrs Cough her gift of the monster afghani to the reaction of "OMG what did you do?? we're so going to jail!"
Babe, it's just one plant that will provide LOTS of relief while you're going through treatment...
"Not going to help me much if we go to jail!!"
So i guess bigger isn't always better? LOL
Anyways well at least I'm happy about the results.
I could've harvested but there were still a few clear trichs and Mrs. Cough requested that I waited until it was mature enough to be knock out night night medicine so we wait...

Meanwhile, the veg tent is getting pretty over run with some girls ready to flip any day now.

Lastly, while the rest of the country is shoveling snow we were outside in flip flops cleaning up our pineapple garden!
We have 6 baby pineapples coming in and they're so darn cute!
