CBD Joy: A Community Garden Experience

@Cultivator, Candida is a proven one. That Master Hemp sounds like something to try, providing the results are what they advertise. Even if you don’t get the highest marks (there are tricks in the testing world to get high numbers) you’ll get an abundance of CBD to work with and that tiny bit of THC will help potentiate the CBD. I’d mix in a little more if I were making a medicinal oil. I’m noticing the 1:3 and 1:5 THC:CBD plants are being well-received.

The cannabis you grow yourself will have terpenes and flavonoids and other cannabinoids the industrial hemp products won’t have, and that spells better relief at a much more reasonable cost. If I were buying retail I’d be looking for oil made from hemp grown in Kentucky, where I hear the best is being cultivated.

As to your pain issues, what administration methods are you using to manage the pain? Have you given any thoughts to high THC suppositories? With shallow insertion you eliminate the euphoric experience but counter deep pain for hours. It’s a hard sell as a modality but it works like no other.

Isn’t it funny that you grow and it never occurred to you to grow your own CBD crop? :laughtwo: That’s ok, you’re certainly not alone. :hugs: When we think of cannabis is typically with the idea of catching a buzz or tamping down breakthrough distress of some physical or emotional source. Then we evolve into medicine men. Lol!

I stopped to leave this sad news. My Lemon Tonic turned out to be a male.

Next seed I’ll treat for two weeks in advance with ethylene gas and hope for better results. That won’t be for a little while.

I replaced him with a new DDA seed. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Sorry about the boy parts :(. Do you put your seeds in a bag with a banana or something to make them female? I feel like I've seen you mention that before but I've can't remember where.

[never mind...found it]

Oh you’re good. :high-five:

I now switch the peels out every three days.

Thanks for that.

I already make full extract THC oil but when i take it i just cant handle it. I grow highg THC strains mostly such as Amnesia Haze and the oil just leaves me tripping and i cant function. Im not against trying suppositories as if it works then it doesnt matter to me how its absorbed into the body, its not like i will be having a suppository in the park with my kids haha. It just scares me that i take a suppository and think im fine then it kicks in with heavenly glory! I tried tacking but i was still high as can be so it made me skeptical of other routes of ingestion.

Ive been using a CBD balm on my hands as my finger joints are ruined from years of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and its been helping a lot. I have lots of trim from plants over the winter months and was wondering if i can extract CBD from that or would it need to be extracted from the flowers. Also to extract would i use a press? I make cco using isopropyl alcohol as thats the only solvent i have available to me. If I had a high CBD strain would i make the oil the same way as i have been doing from the flowers?

Thankyou.

The entire plant is covered in trichomes, most of them only one cell high, and all of them filled with the oils the plant produces. As far as I understand that would mean you'll find CBD throughout the plant. Of course, the highest concentrations will be in the flowers, simply because there's more room for them there.

Making oil from leaves is done exactly the same way as making oil from buds, just need more plant material to get the same yields, and it'll be a different oil than you'd get from using only buds, but still high in medicinal value.

You can microdose your high THC oil and get the benefit without the overwhelming euphoria. If you're using capsules it's easy to either fill them part way or freeze them and slice them down. Somewhere there's a sweet spot for you, waiting to be found. :battingeyelashes:

The suppositories, inserted shallowly just inside the sphincter muscle, doesn't hit the liver the way one inserted deeply would. The chief advantage of shallow suppositories is the ability to increase cannabinoid concentrations without having to walk around so high you feel like a zombie. They're much easier to use than people suppose. Kingston Rabbi has a thread where he demonstrates just how easy he found it to use suppositories at work. Nothing graphic, which was his entire intent.

It's the method no one wants to try, and everytime someone with deep pain does try suppositories relief they didn't expect possible became a reality for them. I think you owe it to yourself to try. You deserve that kind of relief. :hugs:

Here's a couple of CBD strains I've grown. Hiydrow and Nightingale.
Hiydrow is 16% CBD 8% THC
Nightingale is 10/10

The Hiydrow is my all time favorite strain, great pain relief, excellent high at least for me because I prefer much lower THC strains.

Not through the thread yet, but I have to ask:

Does CBDa have to decarbed before made into edibles?? Does it depend on the desired use? It's funny, the weed I bought from the dispensary says 14%CBD and 0.3%CBDa.... like it is already decarboxylated?

Cheers,
If you want it to be CBD when you eat it then yes! If you're want the acid form then no. So yes, it depends on the use for sure.

I think your dispensary is either confused or they've done the work for you!

The Hiydrow is my all time favorite strain, great pain relief, excellent high at least for me because I prefer much lower THC strains.
Beautiful plant Nunya! The parents look credible too: Girl Scout Cookies x Blue Dream x CD-1

Such a beautiful plant! I’m mighty impressed with the cannabinoid ratios. 16% CBD... whoa! You’ve been making me stop in my tracks for more than 25 hours with this pictures. :goodjob:

I’m with Shed here. It appears your dispensary switched the numbers on you. Flower numbers should be the reverse of those on your label.

Thanks,
yeah with parents like that it had no choice but to be good.

Thanks Sweetsue,
I am going to grow another Hiydrow as soon as I harvest these autos.
Hiydrow is for us what Dark Devil is for you.
It's the perfect strain.

Hey folks, I’ve got a question for @Chris Scorpio and/or anyone else who has grown Candida CD-1.

Have you noticed a particularly high demand for either silica, or calcium/magnesium? I ask because one that I have currently in veg is very bendy, and none of the other veg’ing plants are like this. Very droopy at the top, soft kinda foldy leaves up top and wants to lie down with the smallest amount of foliar spray or rain (like super light and it still lies down).

Newty said hers was kinda bendy/droopy in veg too. So this makes me wonder if it, as a strain, just has a bigger appetite for either of those things than other strains.

Anybody, Chris, notice the bendyness (weakness, really)?

Apart from that, it’s looking super healthy, good colour etc.

Here’s a pic in any case ... not necessary cause really I’m just curious if anyone else has had the droopy/bendy thing.

There’s just been a very light sprinkle of rain so it’s not lying down yet...

What it looks like is not enough light.
You have lots of stretch between nodes and kinda skinny stems.
Little silica never hurts.

Then again CD-1 is basically Hemp which grows more skinny and tall like that.
I have seen good size CD-1 plants but they were SCROG'd which is probably a good idea for that type of plant.

Thanks Nunya :) Outdoor plants do tend to be a little more stretchy, overcast days etc.
anyway - I don’t need feedback on the plant as such, it’s getting plenty of sun on sunny days. I’m growing in Doc’s kit so it’s all there, and I’ll ask him about how to give it something extra, if that’s what it needs.

Mostly just wondering about others’ experience with the strain

Look at the first video, its 32 seconds long I think and I am pretty sure that a field of CD-1
I think that's just how it grows especially outdoor.
