Laughing Buddha, Purple Thai

I just finished one harvest and flipped the next one into flower last week, so time to drop some more beans.

This time I'll be running all feminized for a change. Two Crop King Purple Thai and two Barney's Laughing Buddha. Right now they're soaking for 12 hours, then I'll put them in Jiffy pellets when the root starts to show, and move them to the Aerogarden once established, since that worked really well on the last grow.

I'm going to train a little more aggressively this time. For some of you guys (like LA) the plants seem to grow even faster when trained. For me, it always slows them down a lot. However I found the Aerogarden more than makes up for it. I have some new SIP planters coming for when they finally go into soil.

Pantagruel, best of luck with your upcoming grow.
About training, I grow outdoor so if I don't train the girls, especially the satavias, they outdrow my fence, which is 7 ft.
I try to keep them around the 5 ft. in height, which means more topping during early veg and that equates to more stems for buds to grow on. It's a win-win thing to do for me.

Nice chatting to you and don't forget to call.

Bit of a change of plan. The Purple Thai sprouted with very little enthusiasm and eventually damped off. Unfortunately that spread to the smaller of the Laughing Buddhas. So I popped two Girl Scout Cookies, which came right up and caught up with Laughing Buddha.

When these get just a bit bigger I'll transplant them into the Aerogarden. Then things will start to move.

I was worried these were a bit small to transplant, but they have caught nicely in my Aerogarden. Roots are growing rapidly after just a couple of days.

Shame about the Purple Thai - I've never seen that strain
Looks like you're back on track now 👍
Only 1 of 5 of those seeds worked, I'm not too happy with that purchase from CK.

Might be worth contacting them, the banks I use generally send replacements

Looks good nice start dude!
Thanks Chase! I'm nervous to go all-in with hydroponics, but the Aerogarden is a really easy way to do some aeroponics for vegging.

I love Thai strains and it’s a shame that it died but I’ll still be dropping by from time to time if you don’t mind. CL🍀
Thanks, I appreciate that! Usually I try to fill the tent with 4-5 medium sized plants. Since there are only 3 this time, I'm going grow them a little bigger, and do more training. I also have one SIP-style planter I'm curious to see the results of that compared to ordinary planters.

Should be interesting 🤨 to watch. CL🍀. :thumb: :cheesygrinsmiley:

These are just ready to be topped later on today. The reservoir is at 1200 ppm, 6.4 ph. I pinched off the bottom single leaves and their midget branches last night.

New seeds!

I like to produce my own seed, for the savings, because F1 hybrids grow so well, and because it is just so much fun. I've been using landrace Afghani and Harlequin, and I decided I needed to add a nice landrace sativa into the mix. What could be better than Colombian Gold? Plus they sent me two bonus seeds that are also landrace, Afghani Kush (which I have but fresh genetics so ok) and Wild Thailand. Not a sponsor so I won't mention. Landrace regular seeds seem to be a bit hard to find these days.

Frankinstine is at it again.

Reminds me of a movie, cant remember the name, it was about a guy that grew a large house plant in his living room. The plant got really big, over half the size of the room, and even started talking, saying "feed me, feed me".

@Pantagruel, Sounds like you are going to have some fun with these babies. Keep us abreast of their progress and don't forget to call.

Be interested to see the CG/AK, from memory the Space genetics are great, but mine were slightly unstable
Wild Thai is mostly a cane of small head-fuck buds, good luck with that lol
