Landrace Genetics 101

Can you post a pic or 2? .

I took it out today to pollinate a couple of branches, so took a couple pics. The smaller plant on the left is a Malawi that I started 1 week before the A.G. The Malawi is a 5 gallon pot, A.G. in 7 gallon.

Nice leggy Sativa Curly, gotta love real Sativa genetics, I know I do!

Hope you are successful with pollination, pure Sativas almost seem to be an endangered species! Topiary on a tomato cage is how I usually end up LSTing a tall thin lady! Cannabis Vine!

Good luck, hope your produce is solid.

Looks like my Kilimanjaro girls..tall..lanky...sexy

My 1st real full Sativa and I also pollinated them...and kinda over did it, may not get any real smoke from them but should get a butt load of nice seeds

Excited to see how yers looks after pollinated

Egyptian landrace from the Sinai peninsula. RSC. She's been fussy, but is still coming along nicely. She seems to have autoflowering tendencies. The shot where the flower is just starting is a clone that's in 16/8 light. I'm going to see how far she progresses in my veg room. Seeds in the one shot are from an Ultra Dawg male that will hopefully stabalize the genetics a bit if the other seeds all end up being this way.

Figured I would post up some finished shots of the Panama x Malawi cross from ACE. There was a fair bit of variety in even 5 seeds. Amazing smells, great tastes, good highs. There's not really much flower that really gets me super high anymore these days, so it's hard to put it on a scale, but this is very potent stuff even though it's kind of sold as the less potent of the Malawi x Panama vs Panama x Malawi line up.

Very nice flower and it's true that in this day and age there are no one hit wonders for us anymore :passitleft:

Landrace Love:

Acapulco Gold x Durban Poison - these are fairly close to what the original Durban is like. Hair raising white knuckles... its fast. They all go gold. The large tallest pheno is a little more mellow and a heavy producer. The shorter 6' pheno is the hair raiser.... It's sometimes uncomfortable if I over do it.

This plant easily goes 8' indoors with several main colas - tie them back and she just grows 5-6 more in the middle. I don't "top".

Huge plant, she never stops growing, even after starting fade which lasts 30-40 days - @70 days of flower here. I look at trichomes when the plants are completely gold. Cant really tell from looking at the trichomes tho. I think since she never really stops new growth, most all of the trichomes on the outside of the buds are clear. Probably contributes to that white knuckles feeling I get sometimes - these are pics of the larger Pheno i have growing right now. These go 90 days the shorter version goes 70 days:

The branch with the YoYo on it just happens to be a branch I pollinated and I was trying to tie another branch back away from the lights and bent the stalk in half. So I tied the bend with a cloth tie and yoyo'd it to the ceiling.

Fabulous looking plants Bob! I eyed that AG x DP for a while.....from Snowhigh right? They look like they can be a handful if you don't keep a handle on things!

I grew out a plant called Santa Muerte that was supposedly mexican Sativa. It looked a lot like this one on the right. I'm kicking myself for not taking clones back then...

KIMG0070.jpg

She was a real beauty. Lanky branches were nice and sturdy. She was still going in November and probably more than half way finished. She was covered in PM in about a week during a cold snap and I gave up on her.

NO Sativas for Lazy anymore - at least not outdoors...

:hippy:

Ace re-stocked the Fem Golden Tiger this week. I got my eye on a five pack of it and a five of thai chi.
:geek: Unless someone wants to talk me into a malawi breeders pack? :scratchinghead:

I just grabbed 10 Golden Tiger Standards .

Doesn't much resemble Mexican spearheaded varieties, but she looks like a Colombian plant all right with some Thai influence maybe. Santa Muerte or Santa Marta (Gold)?

I love this topic about landrace. I'm always excited to learn more about the different landrace strains from different part of the world. Have you heard of a bagseeds exchange? It is called bagseeds.com (Mod sorry if it is not allowed to post the link, Just delete it.)

The site is still in it's infancy but i saw some exciting bagseeds of a seller from India. I can see that it has a good future because it could help us find some hidden treasure from different countries with the help of different sellers of bagseeds around the world. Different landrace strains that is still undiscovered just like the many landrace strains on the mountains of India or hidden farm in Jamaica. The connections of landrace enthusiasts are much closer now. It's like ebay of bagseeds.

Buying seeds from unknown sellers, facilitated through a website that has its server located in Houston, Texas, lol? Yeah... I seem to have lost my Get Out of Jail Free card, so I'll pass on that one, thanks.
