Landrace Genetics 101

I've considered investing in a bunch of landrace seeds just to breed them and sell seeds. You know, legitimate business. Seems to be what a lot of folks are doing these days, some better than others.

This is really just a pipe (vaporizer tonight) dream of course. Even if I was serious, I can't afford the startup costs. It's fun for a stay at home dad to daydream though.
 
Hey I have a quick question @tropics

I was gifted some seeds supposedly Indian landraces. Odisha, Karnataka, Tripura. Ever heard of them? Supposedly from a company called Old World Genetics. I was planning on running them this fall, but plans might have changed.

BTW I have 4 Purple Satellites growing strong! I wish I could put them in the ground, but again, plans changed and I will be lucky to keep them in 5 gallon pots.

name is just a name but this one is also used by dj short, I recognized it from a seed exchange I follow.
all I see there is 'newberry" "original blueberry" "original Flo" and a "velvet Krush"

just for what it is worth, I dont know much really. :goof:

All Old World Genetics are guaranteed to be F4's or F5's created from Pure Land Race P1's

They pretty small still, I have a thread I post pics of what I currently have going from time to time (last link in my Sig), not organized enough to do a Journal (well or properly anyway ;) :rofl:) so my last few grows pics are in that thread along with a couple of my Breeding Experiments (Pollen Chuckers Anon ;) :rofl: ).

The #1 I know is a girl #2 hasn't told me yet or I just can't see it, decided to start training both as typically the boys show first so my guess is they both might be girls time will tell. Panama Red's:

And one of my Breeding Experiments ;) Black Columbian OG clone I let get dusted by an Ace of Spades male I had at the time (she really leaning hard on the Sativa side of things or from what I can tell ;) ), this is from those seeds so a tester plant:

Some beauties.

I sure love growing out test plants. The last cross I made, I ran 5 females and got 5 entirely different phenotypes. Its exciting to grow something for the first time that you created.

lance strains - one has to be ready for some long flower times - but the wait is worth it and you can get some good yields ! what do you think is the best hash lance strain - Mazar-i-charis (pure north afghan) or Pure lebanese hash plant from the real seed company contacted them - they gave me a address to order directly from them, if you want can give to you only k now of 3 breeders for lance strains: World of Seeds, The Real Seed Company and Tropical seeds and I guess Swamie Seeds - Ace seeds and Holy Smokes seeds also

thanks, not sure I have one again yet as haven't grown much yet and what you get at a Dispensary hard to tell if it is what they say sometimes....back in the day it was a Jamaican that went thru town and Panama Red.

Yeah I'm hoping for those too, be a few months down the road, will post pics in that plant/pic thread of mine along the way. That Hybrid I made 6 weeks from flip, she going to be one of them long wait Sativa's like that Black Columbian OG was when I grew her out on the re-veg/breeding experiment, though this one didn't stretch quite as much.

Last businessperson I knew who wouldn't lie for fun and profit went out of business in 2008.

Comes down to being jacked cause cant make money from it (don't know how to) but somebody else is going to ( who you wish you were) . Hahahaha, life sucks? Grow some pot and forget about it. Oh wait...

Sorry I never heard of them, hope they turn out terrific!
As for the Purple Satellite they should do great in 5 gallon pots, are they sexed yet? In any case I would really love to see posts of your progress.
