Kush DWC grow

Re: LabRat's latest Kush DWC grow.

She read the forum's? Cuz no to one is a possibility if she does. :ganjamon:

No. She hardly goes on the net except for Facebook. She's totally cool with shit like that anyway.
After ten years without a real fight she knows I love 'er. I call her my little dingbat.

Sup there LabRat, loved the updated pics of the ladies. Good bud pr0n for sure. I think the odd duck plant is cool, looks like she has some basil in her LOL.

Re: LabRat's latest Kush DWC grow.

In my educated opinion there just isn't any easier or faster way to grow huge buds indoors for the small farmer. No sprayers to plug up. No submersible pumps to f**k up or add heat to your nutes. $10 tubs can be replaced every couple of years if your paranoid about leaks.

LabRat,
Me and Slappy could not agree more! We stumbled on this method a few years back when our first, and LAST, dirt grow went horribly wrong and became a frustrating experience. We wanted it simple and with little required maintenance. We had no pre conceived notions about what to expect harvest wise and we were amazed at the results.

Your journal is fun AND informative. I love your set up and the result you are getting is amazing. Keep up the good work!

awe, all the love. haha.

Man I love those plants LR. Have you ever seen the World's Ugliest Dog Competition? So ugly they're cute. Your plants have taken ugly to new extremes yet we all know they smoke awesome and are champions.

+reps btw

Thanx for the reps Papa. I wish I still had the pix from my last grow with two tubs. One KaliMistX and one of these Kush. The contrast would have been nice to have now that I have an audience. Freakin' 500G hard drive went south and Seagate fixed it and sent it back blank. Tons of stuff got lost along with all my plant pix. Oh well, I'm doing back-ups more often now.

Hey Buddy Just stopped by to say Thank You. You were right on time with your vote and it made the difference. Much Gratitude:thanks:

You're more than welcome OMM. More than deserving as well. Do we call you Mr. OldMedMan now? :adore:

Maybe OMM should stand for Omnipotent Master of Marijuana. lol

Re: LabRat's latest Kush DWC grow.

ive decided to give my flashback#2 the special labrat treatment!! ill buy as close to your set up as i can, probably after my current grow so i can get some money togheter. i sat and read your thread start to finish last night and you have me convinced its a really good set up(and cheap), thanks! i dont know how i missed the fact you have scottish blood the last time i read your thread, smoke on big yin!! :smokin:

Re: LabRat's latest Kush DWC grow.

OK guys and dolls, I need some advice here. I boosted nutes to 1600 in the unchanged tub and 1420 in the changed tub 3 days ago and checked just before lights out this morning and neither tub's ppm went down at all.

The pH is good at 5.5 each, lots of bubbles, the roots and plants look fine and the nute temp is a little warm at 72F.

I'm thinking I might siphon off half the nutes and top up with straight water to lower the ppm by half and see if that gets them eating again.

If anyone has a better idea let me know. I've got almost 12 hours before the lights come back on to decide.

Re: LabRat's latest Kush DWC grow.

How far into stretch are they? Maybe they are just shifting gears, see what they do overnight. Maybe you built up a high level of something that is locking out the root system.

I am too new, I am sure I would change the whole tank if it really worried me that bad and start at 850 again and slowly build it up after they show full recovery....but I on the err of the side of safety now for sure. I still plan on pushing somethings but not something that would wipe my babies out in one fell swoop.

There you have the paranoid opinion haha :grinjoint:

But you know your stuff man, go with what you know. :peace:

And pics? ;) +rep

Us Scots prefer the term "inexpensive" over "cheap". Kinda like how a working girl prefers "escort" over "whore".

I don't really consider the LabRat treatment special, just reduced to as simple a method as I can get it out of sheer laziness and a chronic lack of funds. lol

Almost all hydro methods give similar results but many are a lot more complicated. I like simplicity and this method suits me to a tee.

Good luck with yours and I'm sure you won't be disappointed with the results. You may even be impressed.

Re: LabRat's latest Kush DWC grow.

High MountainHigh

Stretch is long over and it's normal for the plants to eat a lot less once stretch is over. They are no longer building so much plant material.

The tub I did a nute change on slowed it's feeding noticeably before the unchanged tub did. That's one of the things that has me perplexed. I would think that the unchanged tub would do something odd before the fresher one.

Your reasoning is sound and a fresh batch of lower ppm nutes would likely be the best way to fix this. The only problem is that I'm down to 300ml of Bloom food and no way to get any more for a month or so. I used a different brand to boost them the last time and I'm starting to wonder if that didn't screw them up.

If so a complete nute change may be my only option.

Hmmm... food for thought for sure.

Thanks for the input. +Rep

Hey LR, I had a few ladies have that weird basal type shape, but this was due to light leaking and the plant attempting to re-veg while midbloom. Is light leak a possibility?

Still rockin tho, cannabis is a lot more durable than ppl think ;)

Not to mention you've got the best show on the internet right now with this journal of yours  Pfffft, and your Janurary MOM nom!. Its great that you're doing well, keep it goin bro'.;)

Definitely no light leaks man. The room is underground in the utility basement and when you close the door it's blacker than the inside of an a-hole! lol Not even little LED lights.

I might have been jumping the gun over a perceived nute problem 'cause when I checked tonite the ppm had dropped 50 and 70 ppm and a few of the buds are exploding with these multiple flower heads and there seems to be a lot more fresh hairs poppin' out all over. I'll let it ride for a couple of days and see what happens. Could be they were just taking a deep breath and now their gonna PUSH. They blew up real good the last couple of weeks the last time.

Thanks for the kind words bro. We can all use a kind word now and then.

Re: LabRat's latest Kush DWC grow.

I'm not even gonna try to diagnose cause I know you know more about the stuff than I do.

I was talking about your setup with the guy at the hydro store the other day, in relation to nutes, and he said something that's common sense - but I had not made the connection til he said it.

When you flush or go real low nutes you're fixing imbalances in two ways. First, it breaks down the salt buildup and releases the lockout. We all knew that one. But the other was the way the imbalance builds up over time. If you have an imbalance in your nutes, and are changing them regularly, then the plant will still likely be able to get what it needs, even if it has a little too much of something. If on the other hand you are just topping it off, then that imbalance IN THE NUTES - not in the plants - will increase over time - and at a certain point something will fall outside the range the plant is able to assimilate it.

Re: LabRat's latest Kush DWC grow.

One other thought - in your case since you think the one that's been un-changed is the one doing better - perhaps whatever buildup you are seeing in the unchanged one is the ingredient you need to add more to in the changed one.

But I have no idea how you would figure out what that would be.
