Konk's 1st Grow: ON Canada

I kinda jacknifed it
Hey Konk - the gals look great!!!!
A trick I use for backing up a trailer is - grasp the steering wheel in a death grip at the bottom and move your hand in the direction you want the trailer to go - but with that short tongue it is still tough!!

It is like 20 and sunny :cheer:
I am going on a Wile E. Coyote ladybug hunt. I checked the forum almost certain shed would have planted that pun. Bet I searched poorly and it is on here :battingeyelashes:

:welcome: maybe back to the dirt empire. I did hunt you and your Murphy's soap down somewhere lol

Ya, it's a little worse. Mr. Empire is a trucker so between him and the Management twins I even know that trick :lot-o-toke: I might be too high to think and do. Fortunately, if I keep forward I can wheel her to the garage if it rains.
I even do better on the asphalt than the grass. Practicing in the same groove wearing down the lawn is going on my record, too.
It is an excellent trailer tip!

It's a real pain in the a$s, isn't it  I sort of anticipated a learning curve, but I just walk away now. If I cared more I would be embarassed lol

I bought a cheap loupe, but that seems too abstract right now when the flowers are changing daily. I immediately downloaded that app, thanks so much, Boo! Think its the same one, it does the freeze screen in the wind which is great. :thumb:
That's prob the same one I downloaded. I'm still playing around with it. The one I downloaded uses the phone light.

That #5 has been a tough lil plant. Looks leafy. I have a pheno of BBK that's is leafy in flowering. I'm not liking her bud structure. Seems airy to me but I'm hoping she tightens up.

Backing up those little trailers is tough. You should consider a greenhouse for next year if you have the space. A nice 20'x10'x7' would be a good size. There are many kits out there under $200 US. Hell it would protect your crop from rainy weather and cold nights late in flower. I think the ones that allow you to roll up the sides are the best. You get great ventilation on the hot days.

Good morning Konk :)

I just love your set up. Do you roll your girls in and out everyday? your backyard are what my dreams are made of. I live firmly in suburbia.

I love growing in sunshine.

I know you are trying to help, but I only see you still selling the greenhouse after the season you have had, amazing! I think we're too swampy here. The moisture and bugs I could trap sound like the troubles are imminent... I've got a sunny nook with a tarp. The aphids made it in, but I have some crazy-spooky swamp creatures that stayed away...

I have to play with that magnifier app some more, but it seems an improvement over the phone alone!

You are so welcome! Glad I could help. :cheesygrinsmiley:
see you still selling the greenhouse after the season you have had, amazing
I am totally into the greenhouse after the season I’ve had! I want one, and one of the locals at our favorite local brewery mentioned making one out of windows...:thedoubletake: we just had a lot of windows replaced and kept the old ones for exactly that purpose! I think a greenhouse could be controlled - Bug wise too?
I've got a sunny nook with a tarp.
That works too! :high-five:

I really find it helpful and I’m sure I’m not using it to its full potential! :thumb:

I'll do it all over again next year...just like you..lol. Even with all the problems you and I will end up with a lot more bud than we expected. I was just thinking of you having to move plants daily. Gh would avoid that. Your summers aren't as intense or long as mine. You'd prob rock a gh grow. Just my 2cents.

That would be great, wow! I bet you could do it up to be controlled if you are in deep enough to repurpose windows.
I literally back onto a swamp & we run a dehumidifier always, it is not feasible to overcomplicate outdoors...yet :laughtwo:

Aww, you need to dream bigger ;) Teasing this little hill billy nest we're raisin' young in is decent. Decent neighbours, private-ish yard with many birds passing through over the long winter visiting the dirt empire.
Mr. Empire has built a feeding station or even a bird shack with a windbreak for the flock. Bittersweet yard news is we have two pilliated woodpeckers...that have found our ash tree. I will get all kinds of pictures as they take that tree apart over the winter

Edit: Our regular or anticpated frost date, I think, is about Sept 23, this year we had frost Sept 11th and a handful more times before the 23rd. So, we watch the weather for frost advisories and are ready to move. Before then they were on a table, wagonless. It is a great prototype, even if there is a steap learning curve to back that biotch up

They were all over the siding in the sun, so shook them on the weed wagon and friends. They gone, but I couldn't help myself :laughtwo:

:goodjob:

have you ever see them Asian ones that clog up a dogs upper mouth , they put me of lady bugs lol

:welcome: to the dirt emipre, Nutty!
Ya, I have seen those images ewww. I am pretty sure there is a mix in my collection. As long as they might help they're welcome at this point.

Did you actually collect those lady beetles?
Yes, I dried a water bottle, cut off the bottom and just scooped and flipped them off the siding into the bottle with the edge of the bottle.
Here is the thing about the country, flies and ladybugs hang out in your siding chilling sort of dormant until the sun kicks them awake, then all those little ba$tards come to life and you can hear the beetle shelled bugs "clicking and tapping" against the windows. I have no love for them its usually into the vaccumm, but this is self serving when they are on the outside. As always, that insect talk was all made up, eh... just my take.

I had high hopes of the Ladybugs eating my aphids....I think they are on a diet...didn't see much of a dent in the aphid population!!! But on the bright side, they seemed to have rebounded this year so hopefully they get a jump start next year. I had none (ladybugs) last year - I had plenty of aphids!!!

I think the GreenEarth was what killed them and the cold has not allowed them to rebound as they could in July around here. The 4 on the wagon were certainly favored over the spares that I sort of sacrificed to the aphid demons... Those two will need very aggressive washing, but they seem on the bottom of fans rather than sugar leaves. Small victories!

More on the purple...
Phosphorus deficiency in the sense this plant isn't taking up appropriate or adequate phosphorus showing purple on its leaves.

Looks kinda cool to me....

Or

Or it is cold suddenly to that plant, something about under 50°F, which these have seen plenty of...

I am done with this cool purpley one off...

Continue the sleuthing with crispy Plant #5 and her brood.
