Ya, I will. Thanks! So first. Pic #4 looks like butt cheeks with pot leaves in between them! Sorry and thank you! I don’t know what they are, but if they are aphids then they are supposedly easier to get rid of...from what I recall. So, deep breath. Do what Shed said. Honestly they look beautiful to me.
Yuk. I agree. So far I think they are just gross vice damaging anything so good on you for spotting them! just do what Shed said, lol. You are fine.Ya, I will. Thanks!
They lay pregnant, live young. I read this and they're just so gross.
I smushed all those little ba$tards, hope their offspring are crying aphid juice and they all die.Yuk. I agree. So far I think they are just gross vice damaging anything so good on you for spotting them! just do what Shed said, lol. You are fine.
That is promising, glad you made it to harvest!I sprayed the iso:water mixture on my Cinderella’s for weeks -avoiding the flowers - and managed to make it to harvest. And I had spider mites - terrible thing to control.
And I am in no way trying to minimize your problem. I've just completed my first grow - which started in Feb - and was sometimes scared to go out and look at them each morning because of the bugs! That is promising, glad you made it to harvest!
I feel like have asked the right questions and have read what I can. The input here and the opportunity to ask shed in context about his method and NOT expecting the pistils to wilt makes me feel like I know what I am watching for...
Plant #5 is a happy mistake, the damage or stress I inflicted was in an effort to save the plant, but it was a spare. I have to up my game and do my other 4 really pretty deliberately grown from seed girls.
This could be worse, I realize that.
Fosho, that's where I'm at! Will they be a shrivelled up mess under a mountain of bugs when I get a look at them... I dreamt about them! And I am in no way trying to minimize your problem. They still looking good even with the bugs. Aphids attacked my tobacco a few yrs ago. I expected them to hit the weed this year but instead I have thrips. Always something.Today the crop turns 16 weeks old from seed. Considering they are all hosting or harbouring aphids, I think they look good and they've bulked up this week. I treated them yesterday and will again Sunday. Compared to what I saw on plant #5 last week this is fewer small aphids on the back of leaves and more creepy crawly ones in and around the stems & branches and little black ones with wings. I smushed every single one I saw.
Plants #1-4 have shown pistils for 5 weeks, plant # 5 for 6 weeks.
Plant #1 - Runt
This is the original MacGyver splint. I left it in place to support that branch on the outside of my mesh set up. It also catches the breeze in that spot.
Pic dump...
Those two salvages in front might just produce a bowl or two!
Plant #5 if you zoom in on the leaf at the front (or bottom of the pic) the right side looks quite purple to me. Not so much in the pic, I'll look tomorrow.
Plant #5.5, Left side was not touched, all flowers right of the orange line were "nibbled" 12 days ago... was thinking since I jumped the gun here, I could maybe trim the untouched ones. Still an experiment, right. She was actually pretty gross with aphids when I got to her. I'll let her ride a while.
I appreciate the circling!Found aphids on the weed wagon this afternoon, the dirt empire officially has an infestation. Damn.
I got a recipe from shed and asked for some input.
They look like fungus gnats. Common sticky traps work well on them too. I see you've gathered a few already. Any aphids in there?I was thinking about the number of winged aphids and thought indoors for fruit flies I have used a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar & some foamy soap to set a 'trap' near my fruit bowl.
I sat this out least night and this morning there were more near the 'trap' on the outside of the blue box. Think they're aphids or I guess they could be outdoor fruit flies. I'm glad these ones are dead either way.
