KingJohnC's Lush Lighting LED Dominator 2x Soil Indoor Grow Journal & Review

re: KingJohnC's Lush Lighting LED Dominator 2x Soil Indoor Grow Journal & Review

Scientifically I believe that the full spectrum LED creates a higher electrical charge in the plants then plants under High Pressure Sodium. I believe the higher calcium and magnesium required by plants under LED lights may have something to do with the actual spectrum of the light and the type of energetic reaction within the photosynthetic cells.

I don't question your belief, but you preface by saying scientifically. I am interested in this because I never heard of it before. Then again, I never grew a plant under a light in my life until last October, so my knowledge is extremely limited. Do you have an actual citation or study where it shows how the LED (spectrum) can cause an electrical charge which effects ca/mg absorption through the roots, or are you talking about cation exchange capacity? Photosynthesis occurs with the sun. So possibly the LED spectrum doesn't do what? I'm bogged down in the science of it. HELP!

;)

I was referring to the cation exchange capacity of the plants under full spectrum LED lights being higher then plants under High Pressure Sodium lights.

I think KJC's scientific explanation makes sense, but I more go with experience other great growers had on their switch from HID to LED lighting. for example Jon755, or whatever the numbers where, concluded that plants needed extra CA/MG under LED then a clone of same plant under HPS.

He had some of the best results of anyone I had seen, in large volumes, using LED.

Cation exchange occurs in the soil not in the photosynthesis process so I was just having trouble making the connection. I certainly don't doubt your findings because you are an amazing grower and I'm not questioning "you." I think I'm more bothered by how much of the science I've forgotten by being lazy and not keeping up to date.

Plants look awesome and lots of great info. Is there any secret sauce that you haven't shared with us yet?

:peace:

What....cation, anion, ions.....Geez got to go brush up on my what.... chemistry, particle physics? Anyway, this is what I love about this forum, you never know when or where you get relevant info: I just pulled a leaf off my girl KateUpton that was turning yellow and had some nasty purple varicose veins on the underside; so I guess that's a calmag problem? Except for that one leaf, she is a beautiful WWxBB.

How is everyone doing to day?
Hope all is well, Happy and green :)

Everything looking great here. Have always wanted to follow a thunderfu*k journal.
Also excellent info in calmag under LEDS! Great info am it's not something I already knew.
