UpDate Time!
I have try to organize this one so it make sense. Lets start with the sprout Zamal-D. I dont have an exact birth date, call it December 6-7. So it is on week old. Good stout sprout. A little curve/twist to the leaf, big expansive leafs/leaves. With that touch or spot of redish/orange almost a hue from the leaf surface on the new growth? I dunno on weeth the show.

The ever popular overview with ruler for scale. Sort of a roll in that first leaf toward the tip. not bothered.

On the the ACE and CannaBioGen cross.

First the news looks like a boy and a girl. They look like they are autoflowering or on the express timeline. This is aproxima. 3 weeks since sprout.

First the group shot, the boy is on the right and was the bigger seed.

The boy bits plain to see. They are round and almost have a claw like appearance.

This is the top of the plant and is a good comparison to newly formed boy bit and obvious boy parts.
You can see the formation of the round claw like package on top and the fully formed ball one node down

I will have to try a bit more with the girl after I get a battery charge on the cammy.

The pistil is visible but not the comparison I wish for.

These babies could go hermie since this first generation reg seed and have shown hermie before just not in this pheno presentation so I feel pretty good about them being what they are.

Ok I was doing tip spreading like Light Addict does to new growth to get the light to the new growth.
You might be able to see how the growth differs from the male. You can see how the shape of the bract is more teardrop shaped than round. You can also see how the growth of the stipules and petiols and calyx, to my eye, are more gouped together on the girl. Where as the boy puts its stamina on a stem, so it comes out and to my eye at least it makes the stipule look different.

The way I tell sex is in how the new growth orients itself. Girls are nice and proper, sitting neatly in the center of the branch joint. Boys throw their junk out to the sides, hoping for a breeze to throw the genetic packages adrift.

Fantastic! Just saw where LA wrote CC was a big mentor of his early on. I love seeing how everyone is connected. Sharing a tip here a tip there and before you know it we're all doing it.

Keltic, great shots of the little dudes. Bummer they have to go. I need to hone in my ball searching, now that I have 2 regulars in the tent. Good eye on your girls, what a relief to see those cute little pistils. Going to brew up a chamomile tea today for the fresh seedlings. Thanks for the idea!

exactly what I was trying to show, how if you time it right you can see it before pistil or stamina near the stipules.
Then, after, the teardrop shape is easy once it shoots pistil. I like the search running regulars, a Inspector Jacques Clouseau mystery!

Good deal! It is an old technique been around for ages.

A quote from mother earth news site:
An effective, simple and nontoxic way to keep seedlings free of damping-off disease is to use chamomile tea. I place one chamomile tea bag in 4 cups of boiling water and allow it to sit for 24 hours or more to ensure that I have a strong brew at room temperature. I pour the tea into a plant mister and spray the seedlings as soon as they sprout and each time I water them. I continue this application until the seedlings have developed their second set of leaves. You can also pour chamomile tea into the liner you set the seedling tray into so you can water seedlings from below.

Gonna keep the boy for another week.
First so it can gain some more size, I am going to freeze it and put into my cats oil infusion after the first of the year.
And I am of the mind that the plants may talk to each other and the girl may be happier thinking it has a boy next door.

I have a seaweed water bubbling for the pair. I hope for a growth spurt after the water.

The deed is done, the die is cast, no turning back now. I hit the road in a couple of hours so I had a big morning in the tent. The earthbox got a top off of distilled water. The plant nanny got placed in the small container with the auto. The male auto got chopped :-(, bye lil fella.
The earthbox got its mulch cover. I poured a gallon of water in the old plant saucer to try to keep the RH up. I think I am going to put the lights timer on 11/13 on dec 21 for the December Solstice {{Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 11:28 am EST}}
And on that day start the far red at the end of lights on for 30 min. I might get a new timer for the far red, i dunno. I have 2 timers and three plugs, : - )

Now the star of the show Zamal-D.

All tucked in for the grow, putting the mulch cover was not as hard as I thought. I will have to get more for the future they are pretty much a one grow season use.

It is stretching and showing growth, must had enjoyed its tea. I will be happy with a couple of grams from this tiny one. I feel I should have pinched more side growth, up at least one more node but I will let it run and watch the fun.

The cover is a good idea. The have 3 colors the black I have up is reversible with white on the other side. There is also a red one. I am hoping the black absorbs some heat and helps insulate during the cold months.

High hopes.
