Keith's Real Second Grow - Banana Jealousy

Highya KL,

I always get some wicked wind storms just before harvest season. As a result, I've lost whole plants and parts I can't secure well enough. Now, I top all plants (this first year) and try to keep them smaller so I can secure the branches better. Last year SO didn't get that kind of wind. But, it's something to think about. My plants are usually 8 ft tall. Hoping this year for 5 ft. Anyways, Happy Smokin'

It will the temp has dropped to 74 degrees but the RH is still 77. 🍋
I hope this is considered nice, but you are pretty much in the VPD green zone with those numbers! :thumb:

Now if I understand what I just read. It could be caused by cooler nights and as Shed said too much shade. The nights have been very cool, but not next week the heat shows up. These plants are going to be stunted. It is to late to start over. So, I am going to keep on going. 🍋
That's all we can do Keith i've got those 2 slurricane just flowering away.

Morning Kieth, hope the weather didn't cause too much havock out your way, along the coast we got mostly rain, about a months worth in twenty minutes. but the next few days should be glorious then our first heatwave of the season temps in the 90's an dew points in the 70's . your plants should grow a foot taller 👍

Good morning, Chris we got pounded but my plants are fine. Not looking forward to the heat next week. 🍋

I thought it was not only nice but also very considerate Shedster and I think Keith is very appreciative of it. How did I do? Wanna be sure that I was doing it right. lol 😊 CL🍀

Move them before the storm but still almost got caught. It cleared up but I was watching the radar and it showed clusters of down pours. So, I almost moved them back too soon and Bam it hit almost 2 inches in a little over and hour. I moved them back at 4am. They are out back in a different spot. That graft Shed had was unreal the plants loved the porch even with the wind pounding them, they look great today. I will try and get pictures later. :lot-o-toke: 🍋

Good morning I spent the morning working in the yard. I have a question I have two plants in flower very early flower. Should I start to use Maxi Bloom or let them stay on Maxi Grow for a few more weeks. I have never had plants go into flower so early. I feed them today but not Maxi Bloom. 🍋

I also have 2 plants sort of in flower..- I started them on bloom nutes when I spotted the first pistils and I've continued them even though the flowering is sort of on "hold"....but, even on hold, they've both kept putting out more pistils daily, so they may need the bloom nutes?
The nutes don't seem to be hurting anything, so I'll probably keep feeding as if they were in full flower...if the tips start to burn, I'll back them off a little...

I probably didn't answer your question, Keith- but that's how I'm doing it...

Thanks carcass I think I will start the Maxi Bloom next feeding on the two in flower. 🍋
There is a bit of a difference though. Carcass has his girls in the ground, so they'll be getting at least some of their nutrients from there, even if the soil is fairly depleted. That could alter how they react to what they're being fed, right?
I'm not saying anyone is wrong, but in pots I would be cautious.
