I'd say higher up is better because you're asking a lot of the Velcro down that low. You get more bang for your buck the higher up you go.

I was going to suggest some type of spreader bars up higher also tied at both ends but not sure what you could use . V notched pieces of yard stick drill holes & tie maybe

Let me think about that I need some wooden pieces about the same size as a yard stick. I will think of something.

Or just a foot, cut to size I just suggested a yard stick cause its solid wood & can buy at dollar store

You know they sell zip ties cheap and they work great for tying up branches. CL
