I grow outside and wet trim so I can inspect every flower for mold, fungus, little bugs, and caterpillars before I hang them up to dry. That way there's nothing in them that could cause surprises when it's time to cut them off the lines. Most people start with wet trimming and after a couple of grows and bigger harvests you realize you have to optimize and improve on your methods.
The buds will die off slower and dries better with dry trimming IMO. I remove the larger leaves but that's about it. Wet trimming also breaks the cell membrane barrier all over the plant making it more prone to be inoculated by bacteria and rot during drying.
If I grew in a tent I might give dry trimming a try though.
