KB Follows The Hi Brix Road In DBHBB

Tent has been running a little hot lately and noticed there wasn't much air flow going through carbon filter. So I removed the filter and tent is running around 82 now. Believe I must have clogged the filter up by doing grow room improvements with the fan on. Will put another filter on the list of improvements soon to come.

Gave a brix spray today a few mins after lights on at a dose of 5mil brix to 5oz of RO. Foliars are something I will definitely need to get better at, I know its supposed to be a light misting on the underside, but I'm neurotic and don't want to miss a leaf and end up spraying too much...

Planning on giving a straight water dunk tomorrow or next day, pots were lighter than I expected and I dribbled a little water on top to hold them over. Don't see much wrong with the plants but they could be better, purple stems on one and a little leaf tacoing. So open to suggestions.

I'm new to Doc's kit, so I'd welcome input from some of the experienced HB growers, but in general, I wouldn't worry about the purple stems unless you're seeing some other signs of problems. It CAN be symptomatic of a magnesium deficiency, but it's also fairly common, so if you don't see the leaves starting yellow, you're probably fine there.

The leave cupping/canoeing can be symptomatic of several things including high heat, under OR over watering, or over-fertilization.

Definitely going to attribute the tacoing to heat, it's been hitting 91 with not much distance between light and canopy.

All caught up her KB, nice start in your HB journal! Love those buds you posted. Plants are looking good! Question, are the petioles purple on bottom and top or just the top? I notice in all the strains I have run HB that they all have that purple, but mostly in the top. Doc has said that if they are purple all the way around it could be a sign of slow uptake... or something to that effect. If the soil is cold or if their is too much organic matter it makes the microbes sluggish. I doubt that your problem though...

Just gave the plants the once over, the purple is all over but doesn't seem severe. Just trying to stay observant and make sure these meds are top shelf, cheers. :passitleft:

Hey there KB, how long were the lights on or how close to lights off were you when you took this pic sir? Sometimes they can droop near light off.. But yea, if they are drooping like that in the middle of the day then yes... definitely too wet. Why dont you get an empty 1gal pot and fill it with some HB soil fresh from the bin? That will give you something to judge how light the pots with the plants should be before needing water...

They stay like that pretty much most of the day. Good idea on a pot filled with just soil. Swear those things were bone dry when I dunked, but soil seemed very compacted and not much bubbling. You ever had any plants that were sensitive to too much water?

Less is more for sure my friend

I know with Docs kit it's different, but seems most water when it's bone dry ish, I think...lol

Watch those lights too

Hey there KB, yes sir I sure have had plants sensitive to water. When In soil you have to think of it this way... you want those roots to search out water, so if they are always moist or wet the roots aren’t going to develop properly in soil. But as the pot dries out, the roots begin to go searching for water. That’s what you want in soil, so that why I suggested the pot with soil idea. Gives you a good idea when to water em. You’ll get it down, a lot of peeps overwater when moving to soil or if they are new to growing in general. You’ve grown before, but this is your first in soil right? So you just need to adjust your thinking a bit. It really can get a little boring sometimes, just not as much to do when using Docs kit. At any rate your ladies still look great, I have no doubt you’ll have a great harvest.

Not a lot of experience with the Kit (only 2 grows) but my approach
is to use the DUNK method only once at the start.

My main reason was to allow a shorter feeding scheduled (took to long to dry)
BUT I did notice when I was doing it more the GIRLS would DROOP like that for
a while until they started to dry out ?

Just my observation NO REAL user experience

Yeah does seem like it takes a while to dry out and dunking is a pita. Always knew that would probably be my biggest obstacle. Wondering how they would react if I hit em with de stress. Now we just wait for them to dry I guess.

With the De-Stress I believe you can spray that like 3-4 days after Brix or leaf wash. But lead wash and Brix have to be at least 7-10 days apart. So if they look stressed I’m sure it won’t hurt. I’d theu are still droopy and you’re concerned... you could go to Docs Q&A and post a question to doc there. Either he, or another well experienced brixer will be along shortly! That can give way better advice on the condition of your plants.

Yeah, distress will not hurt. Maybe do 1/2 strength...? That would be 1ml to 4oz of water. Some strains just droop. They're gonna be just fine. Souk in the bin is a little wet, I find my 1s are really light when dry, like nothing.
Thanks for the dosage, saves me from having to convert ounces to mil and figuring out from there lol
