..and...we're underway!
Good to see you, GT!
'Twas a busy night/morning indeed, started by pulling everything out of the tent and vacuuming, then mopping, then mopping again with hot bleach water. Cleanliness is next to budliness! Set up the Easy2Grow system, instead of using their rigid 6mm tubing, I had a 50' roll of flexible 6mm black airline tubing, so used that - I set up 3' runs from each pod, with the 'tee' attached to the 3' run to the reservoir.
I filled two of the pots with the grodan grow cubes, the other two with coco coir. It was suggested to 'pre-charge' the cubes and the coir with the nutrient solution, so to get that going, I had to set up the reservoir first! I have 3 gallon water containers, so I used those filled with RO/DI to calibrate a yardstick to measure the volume in the reservoir. 9 gallons was added, and I dropped in my two large airstones (one 4" disk, one a squat cylindrical beast) and started the water aerating.
I dosed the water with 1 tsp/gal. of Cal-Mag, and let the water aerate for 15 minutes, then added 1 tsp/gal. of FloraNova Grow and aerated for another 20 minutes. Now that I had the blend going, I soaked the grow cubes and one of the coco pots with the solution, and after this, I transplanted the Wonder Woman clones into the pots. The one coco pot had much less moist coir (only what came from the air pot), so it was basically an experiment to see how well the wicking action would work.
The set up before attaching the reservoir, and transplanting anything:
The reservoir, merrily bubbling away:
The Grape God x Big Bud seedlings - these guys need to be less moist and seem to be craving N:
The last dirt plant (since pruned severely - going to be a bonsai mom in a one gallon Air Pot):
The res, now with lid, and airlines:
All transplanted:
And one last setup shot:
So, I guess this is underway?
