Justin Goody's Sponsored Journal: Featuring NextLight & Dope Seeds Gelato & Zkittlez

Happy Saturday, growers and watchers.
One last little height adjustment and a tiny bit of defol to clean them up. These ladies are on their way to great things.
DS Day 48 (1).JPG

Got my Lux set right about where I want (that's 58,000) and this light gives very solid coverage, even around the edges.
DS Day 48 lux.JPG

The stretch appears to be almost done- everyone is growing nice and evenly now, drinking about 1/3 gallon of water per day (each) temps average about 72 in here lately, with around 48% humidity.
DS Day 48 (5).JPG

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

You have a great weekend too, Justin! :Rasta:

Starting to get a nice even and awesome look to them

No more height, just weight going on now.
Between the mosquito bits in the soil and the cold temps outside, there hasn't been any gnats for a while. There's a little black jumping type spider that lives in here and seems to be picking up any slack. I see it running around when I move things, and it can stay as long as it wants.

Wednesday update- Filling out nicely in here. Love the chunky look of the Gelato

The Zkittlez, which has really skinny leaves for a mostly Indica is now producing fatter, frosty sugar leaves. It's getting ready to put on some real weight in the next few weeks.
In another week or so these will get to move into the bigger tent so they can stretch out a bit. Just waiting on trichomes to change in there before I pull the other plant out.

They both look delicious, Justin! :thumb:

Quite a different look to them at this stage, beside the height difference.

Healthy and happy, stinking up the joint @dope-Seeds
DS Day 53a (1).JPG

Going to be trying the same thing with them that worked for my GSC, adding purpinator, superthrive in mid-late flower, along with kelp/humic acids in the Floralicious Bloom 1-1-1 and keeping the MC # down below 5.5g/G
I have a feeling this light will do the rest.

It’s a beauty, really surprising what getting back to that simple white light spectrum can do. Easier to work around, too, without hurting the eyes or getting that headache. Very quality unit.
Thank you for the kind word, these are loving life right now it’s great to see.

These ladies are liking it just fine in here.

and the Gelato, still much shorter, continues to make up for it in girth.

While the Zkittles has the height covered, and is making great looking spears all the way down.

I want to say thank you and give a shoutout to @GeoFlora Nutrients, who have provided me with several things to improve my future gardens.
Today I'm adding Earth Alive Soil Activator to this grow.
It can be used at any stage but I will be adding it to the soil right from the start in my future grows. I used it here as a water-in application, and will see how it affects these. Similar to mosquito bits in that this safe organic product is using cultures to make the soil more hospitable for our plants, while avoiding problems we may never see.

Love that tent!
Today I'm adding Earth Alive Soil Activator to this grow.
I was wondering if that was something that worked in an inert medium like ProMix. I'm never sure when they only mention "soil" and not peat.

And interestingly, some of their claims:
• Improves soil moisture retention
• Increases nutrient uptake

remind me of some of what Vulx said about their product:
• Reduce water requirements by 50%
• Provide 40-50% nutrient savings

After using MC, that means saving about $.40 lol. Could possibly be more on other nutrient lines, I suppose.
I’m more interested in the increased micronutrient uptake and increased yield they talk about.
Interesting point about the Promix, maybe they can come here and answer that.

I ran a comparison for Vulx when they got here, but they hadn't tested their product in ProMix HP, so the amount they told me to use was based on the density of soil and not the fluffiness of ProMix HP. The eventual amount they decide on turned out to be almost 4x as much.
I run the simple stuff, the ProMix premium potting mix, have not tried the HP or any of the others.
I am switching and using FFOF on my next grow just to try something new, but with 20% perlite added you can barely even tell them apart.
I love the smell of good soil.

The ever changing sea of colas. These ladies have a nice tint of green going on
DS Day 60 (2).JPG

No sign of Cal deficiency or anything, upping the dose of MC and everything else to about the max. Sticking with a similar feeding plan to my WSE grow. A bit of superthrive and some floralicious bloom (1-1-1) seemed to help there, so I'll include them here for another week or 2.

Now that the other grow is done, this bigger 2x3’ tent is open. A perfect spot for this light, and for these ladies to spread out a bit and fatten up.

The Gelato is already doing just that.
