Day 1, put seeds into cup of water. And while wait for it, i'll go prepare the soil.

In one of your future grows, you should try to germinate your seeds in a wet paper towel so you can plant the seeds that open and toss the one(s) that don't. FWIW, I never tried it with peroxide, I just do water and the towel in a bag on something warm like an internet router. Warmth will expedite the germination, but if too warm, it might cook them which is why a router is a good electric device to put the baggie on as it's low current, but always powered.

Hey GWJ! Nice to see you’ve got another grow going! :meatballs:
Looks like 2 seedlings are off to a good start. Let’s hope the other one makes it!

Yeah, will try paper towel method in future. There's some photoperiod cookie kush seeds from barney's farm on it's way.

Did you start with the nutes already? Seedlings need only water till the taproot branches out and the cotyledons wither. I agree, it does look stressed already.

Her cotyledons aren’t looking good but her first set of leaves seem to be on the right track.

The cotyledons is hard and thick, like it never develope properly from seed to cotyledons. I will keep monitor on this weird one.

No, the only nutes i use is the CalMag, my previous grow tells me i only need CalMag. But i will transplant them into japanese soil, which i think an upgrade.

Don't give calmag to seedlings, only water for about a week.

Edit - and of course allow the soil to dry between waterings like you did last grow. BTW, I'm very much looking forward to that Barney's Cookie Kush you're waiting on.

Why do you say this? My autoflower pots were pre soaked with pH water with cal mag and rapid start root boost and they blew up quick.

Goodluck on the grow wash I'll be around if you need help :)

seedlings only take nutrients from cotyledons till they establish roots and leaves. Having salts in the media can complicate this process by osmotically drawing salt and water out of the seedling.

THanks for the explanation, how come it's suggested to pre buffer the medium with calmag and proper pH water before planting autos?

I've never grown an auto, but generally speaking, some grow mediums like coco and peat need to be treated to replace certain elements that those mediums come loaded up with when sold. So for instance, coco has a high amount of K and before being used, most of the K needs to be flushed out and replaced with Ca and Mg for the grow media to be safe to use.

However, those are just general use rules, not seedling or auto specific rules. The generally accepted practice for seedlings is to not feed them till it is known that they have a root system that can uptake the nutrients, and just give them water only. As a seedling, I would even confidently guess that PH is not critical either as the seedling isn't taking in nutrients, just the water. Still though, it's never a bad idea to correct the PH, so just as long as the water is in a reasonable PH ...
