More ramblings.
Fought long and hard with heat today. The added 600w led was just too much. Ambient heat was already in the high 70s / low 80s and with both leds shining full brightness down on a whopping 9 square foot floor haha (yes I know that's my problem). If both leds are only set to bloom or only veg, temps are under 80, but full on, 90+.
I also have a 4x4 i'm using as veg, and I could theoretically switch the occupants .. but, the 3x3 is just plants tossed in there, where as i'm gonna scrog the ones currently in the 4x4. By the time these first are done, the other 4 will be too big and entangled in the scrog to move.
So, the 3x3 gets 2x600w leds and the 4x4 gets 2x125cfls ... backwards but, it is what it is.
I drilled a new 6" exhaust hole in my wall, just below the current 4". I plugged the 4", and i'll tell ya why lower down.
I plugged in my new vortex s-line 6", with a separate filter from the 4" (and wow, the weight difference from a filter for a 4" to a 6" is insane)
I hooked up the 3x3 to the 6" vortex..hehe haha, that tents heat is sucked out rapidly. I had to remove the intake vent and just open up the lower side intake panel built into the tent.
The 4x4, got the 4" fan .. plenty enough for the cfls. The tent is the same temp as ambient with added humidity inside the tent with a humidifier.
The room is pretty well sealed up with only 1 6" intake (venturi) into a 6" pre filter. The air is about 2°f lower with a 4" wall diffuser instead of a 6".
Now, the little tent with the oversized fan, had the humidity drop to 30% .. this is why I plugged the 4" exhaust hole. I am venting the humid air from the 4x4 veg tent directly into the sealed room (up high though)
So, all in all, I can run all lights full tilt and i'm holding steady temps. 3x3 tent with 3x600w is running 80.6°f (high, yes, but...), 4x4 tent 80.1°f, sealed room 79.8°f, outside the sealed room 81.3°f
I think I'd done well for no a/c.
Did it all with the help of a lot of lemon super diesel.
The plants were just starting to show signs of the heat stress since the temps the last couple days were constantly in the high 80s.
Thing1s main cola tops are going to be complete and utter duds. However, there may be some popcorn to pull from her. Should I remove top parts that are doing nothing and let her work on the lower parts with more light down there?
Thing2 and 3 are chugging along very well. They both got only lst. Both are stinky and getting pretty dense buds going on. Still need fattening. Estimated 4 weeks left.
Thing4, the little trooper. She survived a ffim.. ya, note the double f. However, she recovered and has 2 main mini colas growing side by side with no possible way to get them any further apart than 1" .. they gonna merge when they fatten up.
Pistils are pretty brown from the spray, but i'm starting to see some new ones coming in. All is not lost.
The ladybugs survived the spray, and about 30 or so of the smarter ones that have learned to navigate the high winds, sucking vortexes of doom and the turblant spinning blades of death, are thriving and taking care of those pesky spider mites for me. No signs of webbing.
Oh .. and about 4weeks into flower on thing2/3, 2 weeks on thing4, and 1 or ?? On thing 1.
