Junior Grower First Time

When I harvest, I hang my buds a couple feet in front of the oscillating fan for about 3 days, or until the centers of the buds aren't spongy when squeezed. I rapidly dry (osc fan) till below 70% RH, then I'm not in such a hurry to dry it down as you also want to cure so after hanging in front of a fan, they may need to be put into a paper bag to redistribute the remaining moisture from the center of the bud outward to the outer surfaces of the bud. You want to dry it out down to at least 62%, but I've read of other growers getting theirs down to about 55% RH.

Hey GWJ! :ganjamon: congrats on the harvest. I enjoyed following your grow and look forward to your next ones! :yummy:
Before harvest, were you checking trichomes on the leaves or on the buds itself? I feel another week or so would of filled those girls out even more :meatballs:

I spotted amber trichomes on one of them, and almost all cloudy trichomes on another one. That's when I decided to harvest them.

Jut did some research on the web, others grower grow the exact same seed and was way higher than the one I grow. I am a bad grower obviously. I hope I can grow them big on my next grow.

Autoflowering plants don't give you a lot of options for determining when they start bloom. With photoperiod plants, you can keep them under Veg lighting long enough to grow a fairly large plant before putting it into bloom. Bloom time is always going to be about the same, but with photos you can control what you can accomplish before bloom starts and that is how I get my yields way higher per plant.

I agree with Felipe and Lion, that you should have kept them alive longer, but I made the same choice with my first harvest in spite of the advice I was getting to leave it go. It's not the end of the world though, just that harvest. Your smoke report will give you more insight about how much longer was needed to achieve the high you seek. This is all a learning process so don't be hard on yourself, not even a little bit.

Incredibly tiny harvest. I think there's only 10g i got. Do the burping now.

Meanwhile i boil the sugar leaves with olive oil at 120 celcius for around 30 mins. Put them into capsules.

Still not sure if this can high. Looking forward to find out.

Will include smoke experience in future.

Btw I am starting another journal later.

Nice GWJ! That is good quality bud by the look of it, my first harvests quality was nothing near to that, so you'e on the right track!
Looking forward to your new journal my friend! :ganjamon:

That might be a small harvest but the experience you've gained is immeasurable. I hope you got your hands on some photoperiod seeds so you can keep them in 18/6 for at least a month, but preferably 2 months before initiating bloom. Then even the lowest yielding strains will give you a lot at harvest. My smallest harvest to date (per plant) was 6 ounces. A grower can squeeze a lot of weight out of one indoor plant, but we need to hone our skills and make our environments as optimal as we can. If this is something you take seriously and will continue to do so, you'll accumulate everything you need to pump out top shelf nuggets by the boatload.

I too look forward to your next round!

I plan to buy some photoperiod AK47 seeds after the next grow. Wish to drain all the auto seed first. Tried AK and got good impression.

I tried the olive oil (2 capsules) i made yesterday. It feels sleepy. Do white widow make you sleepy?

Years back I grew a WW cross that was definitely not sleepy, but it may have been the Skunk that it was mixed with that changed the high. FWIW, when I make edibles, they always give me a narcotic effect also. Maybe it's the temps that the weed is decarboxylated at that alters the type of high the user gets? Whatever the case, it's good to have a nice sleepy supply nearby for painful nights, or nights when you can't sleep for whatever reason.

Did you smoke any yet? I predict that due to the early harvest, the stone will be mild and short lasting. My first harvest was exactly that. Other 420 members told me to postpone my harvest, but like you, I made the executive decision and my harvest quality suffered.

So it is normal to feel sleepy when i turn it into edible.

I haven't, still burping, on 2nd or 3rd day. Do burping a must btw?

I only have limited experience making edibles and I'm so bad at it that I made about 4 or 5 batches, and only one batch turned out half decent. Also, IDK what you mean by burping unless you're referring to drying your buds in which case it is only used to let off any extra RH that still may be in the buds, but once you get the buds into the cure range (62% RH), never again open the container except when to get some buds to smoke.

But how to measure RH inside glass container?

Use a Digital Mini Hygrometer, just toss one in each jar/bag and monitor it hourly if need be. You'll need to get the RH down to 62% about as quick as you can, while making sure not to over dry lower than 62%. Some growers insist on drying slower than this to preserve nuancial flavor profiles and the like, but not Skybound. I harvest roughly a pound every 3 weeks, so I've had plenty of practice. Because in my grow, I feed excessive sulfur, my smoke is super sweet already.
