Journeying Into The Unknown With High Brix

I have a thought on the Leaf removal, I normally wait for the leaf to turn mostly brown before
removal, my thought process is if I remove a bad leaf that the plant is cannibalizing and pulling
from (Mobil Nutrients) to other parts of the plant and the plant needs these Mobil nutrients I fear
she will only start taking from other leaves ?

EDIT:
The above is a throw back from my Liquid nutrient days so my not ever be
a problem in the KIT but old habits are hard to break :)

From the knowledge I have and understand the plant will take see that it has damage and will try and repair the damage. I have snapped a stem in the past, freaked the first time, let us sit flopped over and watched it start to heal but lost my patience and took it off. Later when the same plant went into flower I broke other stem early but this time I added some clones gel and just let it hang. The first time this happened it slowed the grow of the plant when it was trying to heal what was broken. When I took the broken top off it recovered much faster.

The second time I was willing to wait for the plant to heal due to fact I didn't want to lose another color and it was early in flower. I watched as the plant only took about 7 days to repair the broken stalk. It was amazing for me to watch. Also noticed that a few of what we call sugar leaves were drained of all moister starting from the tips to about half way through the leaf. It looked as though the top of the plant kept itself alive as it it repaired itself. Yes, that's exactly what it did.

I guess at times you have to make the best decision for the plant. A fast recover will allow you to move to stronger lights faster and she can grow faster or she may grow at a slightly slower rate do to the damaged leaves. Buuuuiuutttt lol it think we just want you to take those leaves off dang it!! ...

Um guys, I took them off last night. Look back at the pictures. I do think it will be better for the plant to remove them in this case. So I did.

Was not trying to say one approach was better than the other, Just pointing out
a possible reason for leaving them.

As Mag had mentioned
"I guess at times you have to make the best decision for the plant "
Which I fully agree with

Quick update for those who are interested in seeing how the chopped plant is doing after removing damaged leaves. Things look good in the tent. Couldn't be more happy. In the picture the chopped plant is in the front on the right.

Hello everyone,
I wanted to give a quick update before bed. At about forty five days of age they are doing well. I watered two of the plants tonight with 1ml of GE and about .1ml of tea. While i was looking over the plants, adjusting their restraints, trimming off dead leaves from the bottom, I noticed that the stems have become stiff. I like it. Part of growing hi brix. Temps are ideal in the tent and humidity is good also. Here is a picture for you all to see. This is after the maintainence and house keeping. Nite all.

I forgot to mention yesterday that I turned down the lights to about forty percent. They still look a little stressed. Not praying to the light gods. I have question for you all. I was planning on vegging for 60 days before flipping and putting them in their final pots for the last two weeks of veg. Which means I would need to do that now to keep on schedule. Obviously since I just watered yesterday I will need to wait four or five days. Question is, do you all think these plants are ready for it? They still too small? I need to maximize my harvest since this is it for this season.

Yes, go with your vegging idea. It sounds good. In final pots for two weeks before flip is good. I do it EVERY time. Lets the plant grab a hold of all the new soil , and start to fly with it! growth is very fast when you do this so, remember to watch the size of them, but two weeks sounds good ,...might even wanna give them three before flip. Cheers!

Long sentence....WTF? ...LMAO!

Duggan, I got that plan/idea from you. You don't think they are too small?

The plan sounds good , but you know me...of course i would like to see them bigger but , if they go into big pots now, they will not only recover from that lazy look,...they will take off. Just give them about 3 weeks in big pots and see how they will look. You will like the results.....BUT have ya got room for em....muhahaha....

When you transplant them, don't be quick to feed them liquids from the kit OK. The new soil is alive and has much to offer. Give them a feeding of Transplant with a lil Tea, that's it for a few drinks, OK. They will NOT need any GE . Just stick to foliar spraying Brix every week /ten days. When they have 'grabbed' the new soil and YOU can tell (about week/10 days) then hit them with they're very first GE Drench. This is how i do it,..all the time. So,..they have now been in the finals for up to three weeks without getting a GE Drench or any real significant liquids from our kit. With the new soil and lil bits of TP w/ Tea , the soil is 'in balance' and 'alive' with much to give, doesn't need a lot of anything , at this point. Cheers Beamer!

Such awesome advice from a great guy!

Hello everyone,
I was driving to a jobsite yesterday morning. I was stopped at a four way intersection. I looked across and a construction dumpster was talking to me. Saying "come here, I have something you want." I stopped in and scored a small wet/dry shop vac.. Later that day I was at another facility where they stacked all their black plastic nursery pots waiting to be recycled. I snagged a Gardner and he said I could take what I wanted. Score number two! I thought now I got my ten gallon pots to transplant into. Turns out I only got three instead of four so one plant is going in a seven gallon. If I get a male in flower, I hope he is in the seven gallon. Cross your fingers.

As for the plants,
they are ready to be transplanted. They are good, just stalled being in those pots. They need to expand into some new soil. Hopefully I get to that tonight. Might stagger them over two nights to give the wetter pots an aditional day to dry out. I want to check on roots. We will see tonight.

...to be continued...

The first two pictures show the huge contrast is pot sizes. Lots o room! Should make them happy.

I followed instructions on the root powder and root scoring. Gave 1ml tea and 8ml transplant in one gallon of water per plant in ten gallon soil. At this point it will two to three weeks til we flip to flower. My lights are still at forty percent. Will turn up ten percent tomorrow since they will be farther away from the lights on their new pots. Going to have to figure out trays to go under pots. Going to be too heavy with waterings. They will get more water when they dry out again. Thats my quick and dirty update. Anything else I should do for tomorrow nights transplants?
