We’ll see SO - all I know is it’s going to be heavy. Lol.That Madagascar Tree's gonna be gassy!
Btw - now you can see the results of Dual Sombrero Training. (DST). The two towers are the two shoots from the main topping, allowed to grow straight up the entire time. Everything else up top is side branching off them. The lower ring in this case has become so dwarfed by the top that it’s practically irrelevant. I probably should have chopped it completely instead of just paring it down. But even those buds are pretty dense. This is unusual for DST - but an almost six foot tall auto will change the equation a little.Apple Fritter
Day 83
She’s fading fast but hanging in there! Here’s all of her and the business end. These spears are rocks. Literal rocks. I bet I could hold one out horizontally and it would stay. Lightsabers. Jeesh. And you may notice she’s a fairly large auto. Heh.
WoW Jon she is beautiful I wonder if my apple fritter will bud up like that.Apple Fritter

I don’t see why she wouldn’t @KeithLemon …WoW Jon she is beautiful I wonder if my apple fritter will bud up like that.
Here’s a closeup that tells the incredible story. Except for the two branches from node four, the entire top is side branches off two mains. My Sky Muffin is starting to turn into something like that. Her secondary shoots are starting to push up higher than the canopy will be able to keep up with. So I'm having a two tier canopy coming. Here’s a closeup that tells the incredible story. Except for the two branches from node four, the entire top is side branches off two mains. That’s astonishing.
Yeah, you gonna two tier it? Are the wild ones to the outside? My Sky Muffin is starting to turn into something like that. Her secondary shoots are starting to push up higher than the canopy will be able to keep up with. So I'm having a two tier canopy coming.
This Fritter is going wild!
I'm watching it and will if it wants. I think she's asking for it. The shoots that are getting proud are the shoots from the top two branches lawing flat becoming the canopy otherwise a little lower. Is that how it's done?Yeah, you gonna two tier it? Are the wild ones to the outside?
Idk SO. When I train from below, I simply try and keep the canopy entirely flat the whole time. If that means I have to anchor each individual branch, then so be it. The more anchors you have, the more control you have. If you anchor every branch up front, it’s a simple matter to either raise or lower as you go without having to reposition the anchor further out. I make a point when I stick the stake in the dirt to try and get it halfway down the length of the stake. That way if you need to raise an inch, just pull it up out of the dirt an inch. Lower? Same thing in reverse. One and done in the anchors that way. Can sometimes make watering a pain in the ass.I'm watching it and will if it wants. I think she's asking for it. Yep. That's what I do. This one's going up in the middle I'm thinking unless I pull the secondary shoots down and I'm not.Idk SO. Does that help at all?
I almost always prefer to let the lowers come up and keep the uppers horizontal as long as necessary for them to catch up.Yep. That's what I do. This one's going up in the middle I'm thinking unless I pull the secondary shoots down and I'm not.
