I apologize profusely bro, I had people do it to me before and didn’t like it. Again I’m very sorry and it won’t happen again. CL🍀 :sorry:  Edit: I’m now standing in the corner to learn my lesson for blabbering on your thread.

@CaptainLucky, lol, no worries. If it really bothered me I’d let you know. It isn’t as if I have anything going on here yet. You gotta do better than that to piss me off my friend. Lol!

Geez, I thought it was just me…

Ok, I have now officially seen it all.

How many of you have ever lost a set of plants to a family issue?

I now have.

No further details are necessary. All I’m going to say is that of all the ways your plants can go south, one doesn’t usually expect one’s going senile mother to do something crazy. But sometimes they do apparently.

Having a front row seat for your parents waning years and getting to experience the joy of watching them break down mentally and physically…..sucks. And there’s not a goddamn thing I can do about it.

Ok, enough reality. Back to growing.

I’m starting this stupid journal over again. I dropped the only two strains of auto I have left - 2x Watermelon Wedding Cake XXL auto from Growers Choice and 2x Platinum Mimosa Cookies XXL auto, also Growers Choice. I obviously hadn’t planned on doing big autos this time, but at this point that’s the hand I’m dealt. So big autos it is. These four should basically fill the 5x5. I’m going to train them in the first style I ever used and keep all four as one canopy.

I have grown both of these before. The WWC is extremely consistent. I pretty much know what it will do. The FPC has an indica and a sativa pheno, both of which are pretty pronounced in their presentation. I’m hoping for the sativa pheno on that one.

Ugh. Oh well. If it was meant to be this wouldn’t have happened. So onwards we go.

I remember a big fight when I was young and a summer without pot. I think Dad trashed the grow in some big dramatic gesture, to no avail. My Mum, Gramps and sister ended up in California and I stayed in Missouri with Dad. Senile or crazy... every family has them. Who it is, just depends on where you are sitting.

Macob little me ran across a pun the other day that made me think of you...
Do you ever find yourself thinking, I can't stand being in this wheelchair! Have a nice day Jon.

RESTART

Ok, we’re back in business. On the restart we end up with five plants: 2x Watermelon Wedding Cake, 2x Platinum Mimosa Cookies, and 1x Dos Si Dos. All autos.

Everyone knows Dos Si Dos. Here’s the skinny on the other two strains:

Watermelon Wedding Cake XXL Autoflower
Growers Choice
Watermelon Zkittlez x Wedding Cake
70/30 Sativa heavy hybrid
Thc: 27-30%
11 weeks from sprout

Platinum Mimosa Cookies XXL Autoflower
Growers Choice
Platinum Cookies x Mimosa
70/30 Sativa heavy hybrid
Thc: 27-30%
9 weeks from sprout

Having grown both of these, I can tell you that the PMC takes longer than 9 weeks. It’s very close to the WWC. Both of these are sativa heavy and both get very large. Both give you a lot of veg time before they flip. Both are very generous with side branching and high yielding autos. My last WWC holds my personal one-plant record for LED/indoors at 13.6 ounces trimmed and jarred. So these four (2 of each), along with the one Dos Si Dos auto (which has similar time frame as the others) should give me a nice yield for my final Florida grow.

I'm sorry to hear about your mom Jon. I hope she's got good friends and doctors to look after her as she gets further down that road.
Thanks @InTheShed . One plant survived the Momslaught, one of the Gorilla Zkittlez. Lol. It’s okay. She’s my mom. What can I do except accept it as what it is? She brought me into this world. She made me who I am. Mom gets a pass.

Everybody is up, seed and inside coatings removed as required, all happy and healthy except the Gorilla Zkittlez. She has grown mutant since she sprouted and insects devoured my first leaves above the cotys. I don’t think she’ll make the cut, and in case not I have a very special auto to replace her with that should be here by Friday. The insects happened when I put her out in the sun for a mere one day. Spring in Florida. Buggy.

You may have to zoom but everyone is up. They are in the order they broke ground in, oldest to youngest, obviously the Gorilla Zkittlez on the right being the oldest.

Ok, I’m baked at 4:47 am so I’ll treat you guys to some Jon High Ruminations. Lmao!!!

It is my opinion that who we are as people is who we are as growers. For example, I’m a person who likes control. I wouldn’t say I’m a control freak, but I definitely like it. Enough so that stupid little things that happen in growing that are beyond anyone’s ability to control piss me off. Right now, the last Platinum Mimosa Cookies to break ground came up with only one cotyledon. Anyone know how to control that and make it never happen? Heh. I’ve had this happen more than once. It’s never been a problem, the first leaves always come out. But it takes a few days longer since there’s literally only half of the initial solar panels there should be. Nobody can control that obviously. It chortles my throttle.

Anyway, comme ci comme ca. Growing will tell you who you are and let you know what you need to improve on. The biggest thing it’s teaching me so far, and it’s an ongoing lesson and process, is patience. I’m not necessarily built for patience. But then I grow. Lol. See the conundrum? So yes, I am a more patient human being on all levels now versus the person I was three years ago in that regard. Growing has helped me improve as a human being.

I fricking LOVE growing weed.

Thanks for entertaining my buzz!
