Well, once again, fate has intervened in my grow. The April 15 gigs are out. I can’t go, because now my nephew Dennon (my first born and oldest nephew, son of my brother Dave, who is two years my junior) is getting married. On the following weekend, on April 22. I have to go to that, in Alabama of all places. So no gigs. Oh well. But…..

That means the photos have to be done by then. Which means we have to send them to flower. Today.

Here’s where they’re going to flower and how I hung the 420h.:

Lol @StoneOtter - this is sad, but what bugs me the most about going to flower earlier than I wanted is having to watch half trained plants flower out. That Mimosa was shaping up to be a perfect and huge canopy. So was the Humboldt Dream. So that’s one thing, the other is that now I’m sending a bunch of no stem tops and short stem colas to flower. I’ll be happy to yield four to six ounces from these girls, and that may be overestimating.

Sorry to hear about the early flip and the lost gig, but congrats on the wedding! No way the plants can survive your trip to Alabama? Maybe set them up with a SWICK since they're in cloth bags anyway. Nice big res with lots of wicking action and they should be good to leave them for 3 or 4 days I would think.

Thanks @InTheShed, I considered something like that. But the fact that we are flowering in Mom’s guest room closet puts the kabash on that. I had to lobby and negotiate just to get two plants, a light, a couple fans, and a light block for the door! Lol. It’ll be fine. They’ll both be finished, and dry before I go. Only price is size/yield. On the other hand, since the Mimosa especially was only half trained, I now have a very sweet 8-cola ring with two towers, and those colas should get big. We’ll see. Thanks!

Here we go! Guest room closet grow! This will leave them at around 76 degrees overnight. Much warmer than I normally go overnight. Should be interesting.

Right @CaptainLucky? Courtesy of my Yoda in Oregon who is a commercial grower. I’ve known the guy 35 years since he was growing scwag under MH in his bedroom closet. Now he’s got 5 greenhouses 100 feet long and 22’ high. Serious operation. I occasionally show pictures when he sends me some and they are breathtaking. Warehouses of 18-20’ tall plant after plant. He’s got the system where there are rolls on top of the roof and the entire greenhouse gets covered overnight. It’s insane.

Fatten up time. She’s a sweetie. Has this silvery sheen to her from the trichome coverage. Smells lovely and pretty pungent, maybe a 7 out of 10 on the smell scale. All trichomes completely clear - regardless of looks, we have probably a few weeks left, at least ten days I would think. Fattening time, lol.

Her roots hit the water today. - just a couple feeder roots on either side of the pot, but it will quickly multiply. And just look how sweet she is already! This plant, if she is anything like my first one from Original Harvest, is going to take over the tent. Can’t wait to see her go.

Just for shits and giggles, and to get a close look. Check out the purple striped calyxes - very pretty. She’s reasonably frosty. I can definitely see and feel the difference not engaging the flower booster on my light this time. That adds 130 watts, bringing it up to 680, and brings in the smorgasbord of reds, far reds, and IR. I didn’t want to use it with the other plants in veg, as that’s just too much red way too soon, and 550 watts of full spectrum (where it is now) works fine. But I see the difference in overall size of the buds, density, and frost coating. All three of those would be noticeably increased if I had engaged the flower booster. All that said, she doesn’t suck. Lol. I just see the difference. You guys can experiment with lower light and blah blah blah all you want, have at it. I think it sucks. I need wattage.
