Flower Day 11

It took 11 days of stretch but we finally have budlets. And these budlets look a little different than what I usually see. I’m getting excited now. I know indoor LED will produce a higher thc plant than outside, so I’m wondering where we’re going to fall in their advertised 30-37% range. If I even get close to 30% I’ll be thrilled, not that I have any way to test it other than the buzz, lol.

Day 28

It appears out girl will soon be in flower. Starting with the prepistils. Her form is great and overall I’m super happy so far with this one. But she honestly isn’t showing me a whole lot of the XXL thing yet. Lmao.

First pic is POTM!
I’m destined to never win that coveted title.:rofl::rofl: Imho it’s the hardest contest to win. Thanks though. I’ll definitely take that under advisement. I like it too. Got lucky.

Dry Update
Day 6

Yesterday I broke all the buds down off the stems, arranged them in single layers in three boxes, removed the maybe three or four tops that I found just the very beginning of bud rot in (glad I broke them down today!), stacked and covered the boxes, and put them back in the dark room to finish drying. Today is six days. I checked them today, and decided to “not quite dry enough” trim this one bud.

This bud is far and away the stickiest I’ve grown. I trimmed this bud by bare hand and there’s so much oil on my fingers I need a scrubbie to get it off. It was cumbersome fast. Also, it’s giving me a nice long dry. Just from this bud I can tell they still need at least one more day, likely two, and perhaps even three more days. Impossible to trim it until the leaves are all the way crispy, that became immediately apparent.

I’ve never grow Gorilla Glue or one of those strains that has a rep for being super sticky. But surely this strain is in that league.

The smell is beyond my descriptive abilities at the moment. They are drying now in the dark laundry room, which is unused now as folks went north for Christmas. It’s a basic, not large, laundry room. Maybe 10 x 10? Anyway when I opened the door this morning I was in heaven suddenly. Whoa.

They are also off the charts dense. I have one bud I originally wet trimmed when I chopped her that is now dry. It’s a rock. A sticky, stinky rock.

I lost maybe half to three quarters of an ounce to what appeared to be the first day or two of bud rot setting in, only on the very top bud of four or five tops. Only one bud showed it from the outside, I found it when I broke one down to see how the individual “buds within the bud” were. Just some browning that appeared golden but was becoming whiter. And they had all the air in the world pounding them from above and below for all of flower, and a steady atmosphere during flower of around 68-72 degrees and average maybe 38-40% RH due to the AC unit. I did everything right, lol, so they’re just so dense. Next time I am going to distribute what the plant has into more bud tops. The ten cola thing is nice, but this wasn’t even a big plant and I got bud rot from the density. If it’s done in a scrog or with more topping I think each cola would be smaller. Imagine wanting smaller colas. Jeez. But that would be my counsel if anyone grew this and wondered how to train it. I made sure I got all of it and likely erred on the side of caution as it was so early it was hard to be sure. If I had a doubt it went. I ovened them up.

So here’s what I mean.

Side by side, the Crescendo overtook the Tropicanna Banana as expected, but also less so than expected. This is when I wonder and suspect that had I chosen to remove all that lower interior growth would it had stretched more? Yes, that likely would have made the colas bigger at the end but would it have stretched more? I think maybe it would have.

Man are these girls happy. And thus, me too.

Sometimes I am aware of the folly of connecting my emotional reality to the condition of my plants.

Thanks @Joe Brewster - next time I’ll try it that way. These are fairly limited though and I’m happy with it. They’ll get plenty big and everything is getting tons of light. It’ll be relatively flarf free and I’m guess will come in around 4-5-6 ounces? There’s an ounce or two of buds in the small growth I kept. But I really appreciate your point about making it easier come chop and post chop. Small buds are a pain in the ass and they dry faster so you have to watch them carefully and then you have to go through the whole “does this one make the jars, is this one worth trimming” thing…I hear you!

I don't have a monster light 325 w in a 4x4 so I try to maximize what I have
The small bud is good, smoking some now, but is a pain to trim
I put some pics in my album a week ago. not going to be as big as your outdoor ones
Wish I could grow outside

@Prescription Blend
A Sponsor Going Above and Beyond!

I’d like to share my recent experiences with Prescription Blend with you guys, I believe you will appreciate it as much as I do.

This is not a post about how amazing their nute system is, although it is just that. This is a post about a sponsor taking care of us big time. WAY above and beyond the call of duty.

I often order my replacement PB nutes from the Zon. In fact, it’s the only place I have gotten them. 11 times. Every time I can only get the soft packs (that’s ok) and every time my only option is the one distribution point in Oregon. They always take a long time - like two or three weeks! But I order in advance, so I haven’t had an issue with that yet.

This time I ordered two sets. It’s been five weeks. No nutes. No response from the Zon “send message to seller” thing. No response to “I want my money back.” So finally I decided to reach out to Prescription Blend here on the site to see if they had any suggestions or could help maybe direct me to a different distribution point.

I was shocked at the response. I explained the situation and asked if they had any suggestions. That’s it. Just hoping for a site address or something like that.

Here’s what I got instead. I have literally cut and pasted this message from Prescription Blend from my messenger.

I believe that I have found your orders on amazon and I will be resending them today as well as refunding the purchases.

I have also changed how our amazon listing is setup for showing shipping times and when we need to get things out. The last thing is that I have changed how amazon notifies us of messages in our inbox that need to be responded to. I hope this helps resolve the issue. Let me know if you have any issues.

This, my friends, is how it’s done! THANK YOU PRESCRIPTION BLEND!!!!!!

:adore::adore::love::love::adore::adore::love::love::yahoo::yahoo:

Oh, I forgot to tell you the best part. This conversation took place two days ago.

Here’s what I just got delivered to my front door, second day air.

Well that’s especially interesting because I got my sponsored @ViparSpectra light and am getting ready to fire up that 350 watt beauty in my 3x3. It sounds as if your approach will be preferable. Gracias.

How about a sneak peek at our upcoming @ViparSpectra grow?

I spent today getting the new and improved 3x3 infrastructure set up. I’m putting the peek here because for one, it’s the only advance advertising I can do (lol), and two, most of you guys are familiar with what was and might appreciate it. I know @Bill284 will because it’s about as fire proof as I can be. Heh.

So what I did was:
- turned the tent 90 degrees so that the new and relatively unused side door is now the front. This put my AC vents on the back wall and the side that faces the street. This was a way cheap $89 tent I got intending to last one grow. Lol. It’s ok, but has a few holes. Especially on the side with the old door.
- that old door is now facing the street and to eliminate any issues with ambient light from outside that comes in the garage which has to stay open some, I covered it with a painter blanket. I also covered the top. This will also help insulate it and keep the environment steady.
- the AC unit is now on the back side. This eliminates any light that would get in from the late sun shining on the back of the AC unit. I believe that’s what accounted for the occasional seeds I had in the Apple Blossom and such.
- since the AC is now on the backside and may exude water, I took all the cords off the floor and set up a table for them, as well as tightening up the cables.
- this was in part made possible by the existence of the detached driver on the light. WOW what an advantage. Allowed me to put the light where you see it.
- eliminated the old soil pots for holding fans and such. This was another potential problem issue. Replaced with all plastic.
- set up the fans I’ll need AHEAD of time (what a concept). I already know what and where and when I’ll need them. But once they’re set up it eliminates the need to set a thing in there around a growing plant.
- all that was after a thorough tent clean with warm water and H2O2 and lemon juice.

That’s a ton of work for this dude. I believe the good folks at ViparSpectra will be pleased with it.

I’ll of course go into much more detail on the light when I begin in a few more days.

Sorry, gotta wait til then to see this girl lit up. Lol!

How’s that for a teaser? Heh.

Btw - just dropped the seed for this grow. Humboldt’s Dream from Humboldt Seed Company. Feminized photo. Start to finish in the tent. If that doesn’t pop perfectly I’m switching up to a Mimosa from Blimburn seeds. But the reason I post is, this seed I just dropped in a cup of water immediately sank to the bottom. It’s a juicy looking seed too. Never had that happen before. They always float at first.

Nice setup!
