Jon's Outdoor Winter Photoperiod Grow

Absolutely. I've seen similar.
I only top once after the 4th node.
During my training I am growing the branches sideways in an arc (much more stable cola support than right angles by the way) and they end up being 18" - 24" in length. So when I flip I let them grow vertically after a week or two, more or less. While I was anticipating the plant to add another 18' - 36" in height during stretch, I only see far less than half that. This even applies to the middle, untrained branches.
This is fine with me, IMO. I hope to grow roots and buds with very little in between.
Since I just flipped and you have a very weird plant, maybe I'll let this one go vertical from now without any further horizontal training. I will still need to apply vertical separation eventually but we can get a real number on the stretch..
Thanks! Don’t change what you do just for that display unless you want to - I get it from your explanation. As far as my weirdo, I have a feeling in a few days she’ll look and act totally normally. We’ll see.

CalMag
While I am germinating the seed I am also soaking a 1" rockwool cube in rooting solution. Once the tap root is about an inch it is placed in the rock wool (which has been dunked in RO and allowed to drain) and then in a net basket with hydroton. This is then placed directly into the reservoir location and the reservoir is prepared with MSA and a full compliment of CalMag.
On my current grow I really exposed the plant to a lot of LED intensity. After sprouting and a couple of nodes, the plant showed CalMag deficiency so I began to add more. I ended up adding 2 1/2 times the recommended amount before the plant showed total recovery. This took a few weeks since I am hesitant to overdo nutes.
I can't tell you why but I am experiencing the same situation.
Yep. It’s odd. There must be a why.

You never know what might show up in your grow room around here….

Who do I talk to about hazard pay?

Is that a snapping turtle?
I am not a turtle guy but I don’t think so. I think it’s some kind of mud turtle. You can catch them on hook and line all day with hot dogs. He wasn’t aggressive at all. And he didn’t fix my broken compressor on the one AC unit either!

Guess what? I just checked everywhere and in every possible way. Tropicanna Banana AUTO DOES NOT EXIST. Nobody makes the strain in auto form. Certainly not Barney’s.

So….that’s enough proof for me. It’s a weird photo and nothing more. I’m putting it outside and sending it to flower today.
I have some TB clones that are showing pistils & they were taken before flip
It is a plant that puts on lots of buds so you have to do some lollipoping

Flower Day 25

The Ethos write up on this plant includes the sentence, “her extraction level is beyond my descriptive abilities.” (Roughly)

Here’s how her buds look on Day 25

Hi @StoneOtter - hey, weren’t you growing a Malawi sativa not too long ago? I actually took 45 minutes and watched the Malawi Strain Hunters episode. You ever see it? It’s a videography of Arjan’s trip to Malawi to find the purest Malawi genetics in existence. It’s super interesting, if you haven’t seen it I highly recommend it.

Hey Jon, nope not me but those vids they make are priceless! Watching those boys show thc and cbd build during the end of the grow cured me of taking them early!

Ah! Maybe it was Tok? I thought it was the balcony grow. Sorry. But yeah, I guess the one dude got malaria and passed but they’re all complete maniacs. How do you even develop the contacts they have? How do you get to where you know where to begin in fricking Malawi? It’s a cool series and I’m popping the Strawberry Haze, my first try with Green House Seeds (Arjan’s company).

I grew their White Rhino. It's the Bomb for sleep and pain med! Strawberry Haze sounds sweet!

Flower Day 35
On @Prescription Blend and Feeding

Haven’t talked about feeding in a while. So this might be the healthiest plant to this point in the grow that I have ever grown. She is flawless and robust and hasn’t the slightest blemish. Perfect color. Etc…

I ask myself why.

I’ve been using Prescription Blend for quite a while now almost exclusively. I’ve expounded before on my love for the system. At this point I know how to tweak it. For example: there is only one ingredient which gets added to the mix when flowering begins - Big Data. On the PB feed chart you begin at 4 ml/gal, go up to 6, and end up at 5 over the weeks of flowering. I don’t do it that way anymore. 4 or 5. Is that difference really going to burn my plant? No. And now I know the answer really is no. I simply keep it at 5 the entire time of flower in the base mix. Another example: I believe I can read the plants enough now to kind of know when they can take a feed increase. When I determine that it’s time for that, I simply increase the potency of my base mix. Evenly across the board always, I don’t just give more of one ingredient. It’s the balance between the ingredients that is the magic of PB. So when I want more I mix at say 120% of base mix.

Once you learn a system well you can do all kinds of stuff. PB works especially well with any microbial additives. This plant has gotten periodic shots of Fox Farms Microbe Brew (about every two weeks for a day of feeding on top of base mix, mixed right in with the nutes). Also has gotten two top dressings of bokashi/frass blend, and last night got her third bokashi/frass tea feeding (that I do separately from regular feed). All of these simply add microbes to the mix, and since every watering in coco is to runoff it’s good to replenish. The plants seem to universally respond well to this, and the Mac and Jack surely has. I didn’t use the Fox Farms Flower Kiss foliar product on this girl, but I have before and it doesn’t cause any problems paired with PB either.

On top of all that, once she had buds, every single feeding has contained 20 ml of Terpinator, along with an every other feeding a 15 ml shot of Fox Farms Bembe. I also occasionally give 30 ml of actual unsulphured blackstrap organic molasses. All of these just add carbs and therefore sugar, but the PB system is flexible enough to toss any and all of this right on top of the base mix.

She eats a gallon a wake-up and another around 2 pm. Each time I runoff around 15%. Enough to overflow the lower catch tray.

This as described above is every day until harvest.

And there you have at least my opinion as to why this plant is ultra healthy, from the feeding perspective.

:adore: Prescription Blend! And the Ethos genetics don’t hurt either. Heh.

Here’s the healthy beast in full bloom.

Her Sombreo Quad is taking shape. Up top the lower node branches have almost caught up to the topping branches, and down below we have a lovely 8 cola main ring on its way. Really cool green, sort of translucent quality to this plant - very pretty.

Outside Late Afternoon through Wakeup

Heh.

I raise the smaller plant that high because as the sun goes west the light line on the wall begins to rise. This way she gets max sun until almost sundown. The blue cooler is sitting on top of two folding chairs, the big girl sits atop my portable shower seat/toilet which I don’t use. Lol.
