Jon's Dedicated Fruity Pebble Cookies Grow Plus The Mystery Plant

The other difference, and I think the more important one, is that this pot was layered a la @Bill284. I am seeing the difference here between the Bill284 Method and plain living soil, at least Sohum. It’s no contest.
What do you think the difference is in layering vs mixing up all the same ingredients in a homogeneous mix? I'm guessing maybe the perlite layers adding extra oxygen?

Excellent question @Azimuth and my answer is I don’t know. Lol. @Bill284 can explain though. All I know is I tried it both ways and the layering works better.

And, if it is the perlite layer, I wonder if it could be as simple as mixing everything else except the perlite and then doing layers. Most of the other stuff doesn't bring a ton of air to the mix so if that is the differentiator maybe it could be simplified to just layering perlite, then general mix, then perlite, etc.

Not at all! If that's how it came across I apologize. I do know how to grow plants and I need to listen to my experience is all; and I have a hard time telling people that. This is only the second time I have started cannabis seeds directly in soil, so it was good to follow along, thank you. All my previous starts were either in peat pucks or in those cups that biodegrade. I conclude that I like the direct into soil method better. I did lose you on the up-pot but no serious damage was done, so it's all good :thanks:
Thanks @Carmen Ray, sorry if I felt a bit dismissed. No harm no foul. Let’s make some buds!

She's huge for 18 days @Jon! I pretty much have been doing what @Azimuth suggests. I put down the perlite, put in all the other stuff and mix it together, then top with perlite and do it again. I feel like I'm making a cake lol
Hey @BubbaKush909 - I’ve done it that way too, it works great. I’m trying @Bill284’s layering.

Good morning again Azi.
I mix all the ingredients in coco first and let the microbes grow.
Then I add that complete mis to the potmin layers.
The coco in between the layers of coco or soil provide a constant source of air to the roots.
Making overwatering more difficult.
Improves the speed of growth and health of roots.
You end up with huge healthy roots.

Stay safe

FulvIa Flower Day 70
Elora Flower Day 70
Strawberry Banana Day 19

Strawberry Banana saying “what up potting? Transplant shock.

Fulvia getting closer.

Elora. Looks small next to Fulvia. She isn’t. She has long, dense, frosty sativa buds. Each branch holds a ton of bud and a crappy trim. Lol. This is the clearest I’ve ever experienced of two distinctly different phenos of the same strain.

Ok, so the answer is yes? Meaning the layers are really the soil inputs all mixed together and then separated by the aeration layers of either coco or perlite?

Yep thin layers of perlite on bottom.
Getting thicker as you go up the pot.
All laced with Bokashi, frass and @DYNOMYCO
Great for roots, so many benefits.

Ah I’ve been doing it a little different, but I’ll adjust to this. I’ve been going coco, perlite, sprinkle layer of bokashi then frass then coco then perlite etc. I would guess it’s a nominal difference. Either way the good stuff is all there, everywhere.

As long as you fill the pot with it, it grows everywhere.
Either way you got it to work. :thumb:

Ok, great. Then I'm going to try it and if I doesn't work out, Ima blame @Jon . :laughtwo:
Blame me I've got big shoulders.
But I'm not worried.
You layer an air pot as I suggest I guarantee the results.
You will really enjoy the growth rate and volume. :thumb:
Bill284 Method for the win again. :cheer:

Yeah, but Jon endorsed the concept, so I'll still blame him. :laughtwo:
Note @Azimuth - I endorsed it in that it worked great for ME. I have no idea how it will work for YOU. You may not have the skills.

Fulvia Trichome Porn

She’s got a real nice, thick blanket of trichs and smells like Fruit Loops cereal. Not Fruity Pebbles, that cereal smells different than Fruit Loops. This smells just like Fruit Loops. No shit. I actually have some Fruit Loops cereal. I’m gonna do a side by side smell test with my next buddy who stops by. Inevitably their smelled will work better than mine. Lol. She’s close! A week to 10 days I’m thinking?
