cool, i thought id ask about the 1/2, ive only ever used 1 hour in dark so thought maybe you had tried something else,
you have used 16-8 for veg, how did you find that schedule, can you remember what growth was like compared with 18-6,
i always used 24-0 and 20-4 but its not best for the plants, they do really benefit from the dark period, ive had a lot more growth under 17-7 and like i mentioned before my autos under 24-0 and 20-4 yielded 1/4oz, that was 6 autos of same strain, then i grew another auto if same strain under 12-12 from start to finish and got 2oz, so that auto strain benefited more from 12-12.
the purple cheese auto i just grew under 17-7 didnt perform well, had very little side branches, probably going to get 3/8ths of it which is not a biggy as all the lower buds as giving me some new crosses i made,

ak47 x uk cherry cheese fem pollen cross with the purple cheese auto,
im told around 1/4 of the seeds will be auto so ill get a male and female auto from the gdp cross and call them gdp cheese auto, the regular seeds will give me gdp cheese regular,
the fem seeds will be used for fem pollenation of themselves, ill late flower one plant and not harvest any of it and use that pollen on a fem from the same batch and produce a lot of fem seeds,
thats my plan anyway, but im trying to work out which light schedule works the best, i think 24-0 and 20-4 are ok for cloning but my plants have got much bigger quicker under 17-7, the yield will give me more credible results as it could just be that they stretched more and node spaces are further apart, without doing a side by side grow i wont know for sure but i write every yield down so i can compare yields with previous grows as i put my plants to flower at a certain height so the yield will give me a better idea of whats best.
so just wondered how you found 16-8,
