JimmyCricket's 1st Indoor Grow - Chemdog D & White Rhino x Blackberry

Re: JimmyCrickets 1st Indoor Grow - Chemdog D & White Rhino x Blackberry

Yeah I dont know bout that either mate.. At the start I used to use 24/7 for seedlings - But then after a few discussions with guys that grow indoor and outdoor - They both said to me that no where apart from the arctic areas do we get 24/7 light, So in a natural situation growing in soil anyway, the time of light the plant is exposed to does affect things, but as WIZZY said - Only to a point. They do need light to photosynth and store food, But IMO 24hrs direct light on a nearly 3ft plant is possibly harmful, possibly causing bleaching or other things? But they also need dark, as evident in Flowering, and also I now use a 17/7 light/dark cycle as its about 5-6 hours more light than outside atm, and keeping above 13hrs will stop flower, and saving dollars using a 17 hr light cycle with my 400w is good - barely notice a difference..
Using this timing I DO NOTICE good growth from my plants over the day, with many new fresh, lighter green shoots and leaves visibly growing away:) So for me, there must be a need for a dark period if Im sort of replicating an outdoor grow - But inside!
I only use a pot, some plant food and an artificial sun ( Light ) which as I said, the amount of dark I give it dictates wether it will flower or not,
I add some moving air to the equation and its nearly like an outdoor grow!!
People have different theories but for along time - People usually grew with a 18/6 light schedule - there have been changes in lighting and such so maybe theres been a slight change to the lighting requirements to that light - But IDK??
So thats my top secret grow style anyway :/ Shhhh...

Not a bad little area you got there mate;)
Id clean it all out, turn the top soil -A little bit of Landscaping and you could set up the BOMB grow space! But I see you have other things among your garden so your prob not keen to pull down your Peach tree or Strawberries:) But yeah if I had a space like that Id luv to go to work on it.. Ive done some landscaping before , and now with some of the cheaper DIY type kits, its even more simple than it was!
I have a friend who lives in the inner city, he is a paraplegic from a bad accident years back. Well anyway, hes quite an adept grower. First time I went to his court yard it was like a scene from a movie, Like on AlphaDog type shit.. He has this old, narrow, 2storey town house - beautiful house with all these arches and he s had the floors made from Red gum as his weight and wheel chair had worn and cracked the pine or Cedar floor he had.. Anyway I was escorted out to his courtyard, which i felt kind of privelidged as I kno its not something he showed many.. He first showd me his favourite Chilli s of varying color. After that small section divided by this architrave of concrete roman style and under this large head statue from some old looking place, under this was the widest sectin where he had his nice plants growing they had sun for most part of the day and they were well looked after considering he couldnt walk around, But he did get help from his live in nurse sometimes to take him down if he was gunna harvest some.. He spent alot of money setting it up its all automated watering wise and he has these nice risen garden beds with 3 plants p/row,3 rows so 9 plants..
I really wish I had his crib - its in the richer areas of the city and he is lucky to have another slightly smaller town house on one side - but a business on the other which was a smaller loid bricked in wall and then it stopped and 2ft below this were 8ft fences all along, So he has no probs - perfect spot IMO :):)
One day I hope to have a good setup again.. Anyways, Your setup is looking great so far and cant wait to see it once them bushes get bigger.. So it gunna be a massive SCROG AY:) Hope all goes well bro and will chat soon! Oh , and what you said about the Purple being from a HOT soil, Do you think this maybe also the case for my Lucy???
Ive fed her a good feed today - She s in flower as of now, hope she has purp bro!!!! Take care.. Smokem:goodjob:

The trick to inner city backyard growing, is to act like you arnt growing at all :).

People see me gardening, living good, eating my veggies n stuff, blinds them to hidden plants. Plus I like organic fresh food anyways hehe. But yeah come harvest the whole yard will be full of goodies no doubt. I am shooting for bigguns everywhere. After all still another 6 months till harvest and i already got 3 footers.

Re: JimmyCrickets 1st Indoor Grow - Chemdog D & White Rhino x Blackberry

how the hell do i keep getting PM with 30-40% humidity...

Everywhere I look it says any humidity below 70% PM is almost impossible.

Re: JimmyCrickets 1st Indoor Grow - Chemdog D & White Rhino x Blackberry

well they have a fan on them 24/7 very high powered fan too.

It just happened on my j-13 hydro plants which are in the middle of a empty room basically and only 6 inches tall...

Jimmy, where are you measuring rh? Perhaps it's only 25% where the meter is, but in the micro climate right at the plant's leaves, it could be much much higher. You sound like a prime candidate for a sulfur burner. I've not used one myself, but my understanding is you need the plant in veg to use it. You're still vegging, right?

Good luck. Seems like you've been struggling with this for too long. I hope you solve it soon! :Namaste:

Well I just put my foot down and stomped that shit out for good! :)

I tossed the final 5 bigguns outside in the greenhouse and as per usual i neemed them when they went outside. Plus with 4% humidity outside and high temps PM = dead :)

now spidermites, they can certainly strike especially more in summer time. But considering I have a huge container of neem, i will just spray everything 1 time per week or week n a half. Until flower that is and then i shall switch to ladybugs and BT.

BTW Paula seems to LOVEEEEEEEEEEE it outside. Gonna let them hang in the greenhouse in their little 2.5 gallon pots for a few days, then will put them in the dirt.
