Jay's Move From SCROG To SOG - Jock Horror - Aurora Indica - & Papaya

Your grow really looks fine. Are you going to create a new thread for your new Grow? Interesting selection of seeds.

Thanks, Troy! Yes I will start a new journal, probably tonight or tomorrow when I get some time in front of my laptop, it gets annoying trying to write up a long update on the phone. Lol

I was hoping to see you sow one of those Shaman's.... Isnt that Papaya dry yet? LOL

Man I really was tempted but I'm planning on taking some clones from the Shaman for my buddy's outdoor grow this year. Guess I'll have to wait a few more months, should be perfect timing with the end of my upcoming grow.

Lol yes the Papaya was finally dry enough to jar last night. After sitting over night it was at 65rh, I burped for about an hour but the Rh didn't drop (it's about to rain). I tried some last night, was surprisingly smooth with no real harshness, great high left me feeling stoned but not baked and kinda giddy. My wife knew right away I was stoned. Lol. Just like with the scissor hash, I slept great without waking up during the night. Can't wait to see how she tastes after some curing time.

I usually do my write-ups on my PC and then open the message on my IPhone and add pictures. Posting pictures is so much easier on the IPhone app.

I've had the app for a while but never really messed with it, so I figured I should if uploading pics is easier. Giving it a shot.

Here is a pic of some curing Papaya

Great shot and a beautiful nug. The app is pretty straight forward and you will grasp it really quick.

I usually click the subscribed button at the top and it brings up my subscribed threads.. Click on the thread you want and your home free.

Click the 3 bars at top and choose settings

These are mine. I have it set to open on first unread message

Thanks again, Troy! The app is so much easier than using the web version on my phone.

Just wondering, when you upload photos in the web version it adds the 420magazine watermark to the picture. When doing it in the app it doesn't. If you read the how to upload pictures it makes it sound like they want the watermark on any pictures you upload, seems weird it doesn't do it in the app if that's what they want??

I noticed that also. Maybe they will do that in a future version.

I had one little problem with my new thread. The title was really long and if I wrote a message via the web and then edited it to add photos it would fail to save saying I had too many characters in my Title. Teddy came to the rescue and edited my original title and now it works again perfectly.

I'm glad I read this before making the new journal, I was trying to fit all the strains in the tittle but it wouldn't all fit. I didn't want to run into the same problem so I shortened it up a bit. Glad Teddy was able to fix the issue, gotta love the staff here!

The problem with my original Title was I used the Maximum number of characters allowed. When replying or adding to the thread the title changed to re: adding 3 extra characters... hmmm... I agree with you about the moderators here... They do a great job.

Last night was harvest time for the rest of the Papaya and the JH and Aurora. A buddy came over and we made pretty quick work of the girls. I was actually surprised how well the JH came out. The Aurora was pretty airy but had some good colas.

From left to right:
Papaya, Jock Horror, Aurora

I also got quite a few seeds from the areas I manually pollinated. Looks like I should be set for a long time with stock to grow.

Once everything is dried and ready to jar I will update with weight totals and a smoke report. Over all this grow went fairly smoothly with only a few equipment issues.

Was jarring up all the small popcorn nugs from the Aurora and JH. Found all these in the JH, I can't be certain if they are self pollinated or a cross with the Papaya...oh well, more seeds

All the hanging buds we finally dry enough to jar up and start curing. The rest of the Papaya was very good, nice and frosty and pretty dense. Both the JH and Aurora were very airy which I was expecting, the Aurora has way more trichs than I was expecting. I will give them a test in the next day or so.

Now for the final weights
JH came in at 96g or 3.4oz
Papaya came in at 94g or 3.3oz
Aurora came in at 80g or 2.8oz

That's 9.5oz in total! Not too shabby, more smoke than I'll need to get me to the end of my new grow. I love that I can grow enough each round for myself and still have plenty to give to friends and family. I def don't do this to make money, it's something I love to do, I can smoke the end product and I can hook people up. All in all it's a win!!

Great yield Jay - :bravo::cheer:

I also just grow for personal use, but justify my purchases of equipment by multiplying the average cost of an ounce of top shelf in my area ($340/ounce) against my yield. Suddenly that new light pays for itself in 3-4 months.

I can't even remember the last time I had to buy some smoke and that makes me very happy! lol
