I have same spot last eight years. I harvest plot and put down four bags of chook maure and few bags of mushroom compost, turn it a little leave it for four months, then another bag of both couple months before I plant, digging and turning the soil as deep as i can. I put them in the ground at about two feet, Nutes, I only use fish concentrate, mashed up carp or seaweed concentrate. Pot ash once flowering. I'll look at them fortnightly until they are set in the ground then three four five weeks. I find it grows better when they are looking after themselves. I give them little under meter circumference , but I grow only ten ounce to pound plants. I'm in a wet area so try to give them space, for breeze, moulds the killer where I live. Better to grow fewer in right spot and get more than a heap squashed in, imho
