great journal mate, had a good read, do you have plans to grow anymore or did i miss this bit in the journal

Absolutely Don I've got the fever now, this could become a life long hobby, I mentioned in my journal somewhere I have two clones from two of the 3 strains I'm growing now. They are approx. a foot tall and I recently LST'd them

I'm basically doing some experimenting with it right now, I'm curious to see if I can succeed in making the plant grow horizontally the entire veg period. I am with any luck moving soon, and my new place has a 3' crawl space under the entire house, that is totally hidden and super stealth. I think I'm going to continue to wait to pull my girls, pistils are still very white and continuing to grow, give them another week or so. Thinking SOG next grow, will give me the chance to understand cloning better and do a larger grow with less space

these plants will grow sideways, but all the growth at the nodes will grow upwards so this will also need pulling down, but when you flower it you will need to let it grow up else the buds wont get very big in length,

have a look at a scrog mate, thats the best way to keep a plant at a certain height and you let it grow through the scrog a couple of weeks after changing it to flower, the buds then bulk up loads and you will get a good yield that way, check out teSmp's journal, you will find his plant in the plant of the month contest, then follow his link to his journal and check his scrog out, he got a huge yield from just one plant with 30days of veg

Why'd you take down the scrog?

lol the roof made me nervous too, I had them zip tied to the thing i had them placed on but still, a strong gust of wind coulda put a real damper on my grow

And I took down the SCROG for a couple of reasons, it became too clusterfucky, there was too much going on with three plants in such a small scrog system. That space would be perfect for one huge plant, not 3 big plants. Also in order to flush them I had to take them out of the closet because I don't have a reservoir to catch run off and it basically just woulda ran off through my basement. It served it's purpose in keeping my plants short and stout, I kept it until my plants were done the stretch of flowering and then were not vertically growing anymore but just fattening up their buds. Yep it's been quite the journey and adventure for my first grow, next summer ill be going out doors.

Master Don, I thought you read my journal? I had my plants scrogged but removed them after the flowering stretch. I saw teSmp's scrog, made mine look amateur and weak, but then again he had a little hydro thing going on. I plan to do the craziest scrog you guys have ever seen completely horizontal scrog only one foot off the ground but im going to grow the plant like 5 feet horizontally, this should allow every possible bud site on the plant to receive light. I'll keep you guys posted

Thanks to everyone who has subbed to my journal, due to extenuating circumstances Im going to have to chop sooner than planned, I was just approved for a mortgage! So I will be moving October first, and that means my current landlord's might not be impressed that they aren't getting paid this month and may want to show the house, and the last thing I want is a potential buyer/renter/or my landlord stumbling across my disgustingly huge buds one plant could probly use more time but im just gonna cut my losses, I have a clone of her anyways to carry on her lagacy, shes a late bloomer. So this is it, im going to chop, dry, and cure before it's too late. I will post pics of my harvest as soon as I have some. Cross your fingers for a half lb or more!

Congrats on the mortgage! That's great that you'll have your very own place soon! That's part of this hobby, you need to be able to tear everything down in a moments notice, you'll be up and running soon, and now you have a ton of experience to make sure it's done right.

Will definitely make life easier; no worries about landlords turning up unexpectedly, or not being able to modify part of the house for fear of losing your deposit! And you'll have some smoke to get you through the move which is always nice - I always find the moving part a bit of a nightmare!

damn that will be one big scrog, sorry mate but i read around 40 journals so its hard to remember where i read what, sorry mate, you sure can keep it growing along the ground as long as you like i would of thought, just make sure you have something in the ground supporting the stem, you dont want any leaves or branches on the ground, but you should know this, cant wait to see this huge scrog, im tempted to give a scrog a go and try it with a hydro set up,

i just made my own strain and got a pregnant lady so cant wait till i got seeds so i can give it a try and see how the cross worked, i picked my fastest growing female and the strongest male i had, and it looks like it worked as the buds i put pollen on have started to have the pistils shrink into the bud so im thinking they must do this once they have the pollen they need to make the seeds, so the rest of the plant ill harvest and smoke, but 3 bud sites have had pollen put all over them so i should have 3 bunches of seeds, not sure how many ill end up with but should be enough for a few grows, and if i dont like the combination then ill gift them to anyone who wants to try them, but if i like them ill only share with a few select friends,

Well Congrats on the pregnancy! Hope it is a flavorful extraordinary strain, I wouldn't mind a seed of that wink, wink.


@Green Knight-You're certainly right about the freedom when you own a house rather than rent, ahhh the possibilities! I can see my grow space expanding to say the least

But yes I will definitely post a journal of start to finish horizontal scrog, and of course I know to keep the plant off the ground, but thanks for the reminder, I appreciate you looking after me. NOW IT'S TIME for the long anticipated harvest photos, I've spent all day carefully pruning my finished buds. Stay tuned they will be posted shortly.....

Ya moving a bitch but also a part of life unfortunately, but chances are I won't even remember I moved after I smoke some of my sticky goodness. But thanks for the Congrats, I'm super pumped, this is a big step in my life, I'm only 28 and going to be a home owner. May there be much growing success at my new residence, and for you as well.....well this grow has come to an end, check out my haul, I'm guessing about a half lb dry, its about 2.5 lbs wet....pics to follow shortly....stay tuned

Thanks woman, I can't wait to have a place where I don't have no one to answer to but me......and your right, I have my operation set up that I could tear down at the drop of a hat and no one would be none the wiser, except for the pungent odor of fresh ripe buds. I really should invest in a charcoal filter and fan, maybe at the new house, this house is already contaminated with the sweet fresh aroma of lemony fresh nuggets, stay tuned for photos! OK so the first plant I harvested is my jock horror, it had about 80% amber pistils, and had very citrus pungent dank odor to it, I haven't weighed it but I'm guessing I have close to 3/4-1 lb wet, were gonna call this string #1

And the second plant I harvested was my white widow, talk about trichomes, my goodness my scissors were caked, buds were massive and glistening, smelled skunky yet terrific, guessing it also weighs about 3/4-1lb wet

And the last plant is the one that could have went a couple weeks longer in my opinion but I've run out of time so I had to cut her early, she was by far the most sugared plant, from stem to the tips of the leaves was covered! Will definitely make good hash/oil someday with the trimmings. This one had the strongest odor too, smelled of strong cherry sour patch kids combined with a mango-ish after scent, I have a feeling this will be the best smoke of the three judging by the smell, this plant was smaller buds but overall yield I'd say is 1/4-1/2 lb

So there it is, in all its beautiful drying glory.....I decided not to bother regenerating my widow for clones, think I'm gonna try some different strains instead. Thanks for following my grow, and I'll update with a dry weight when I get there, wet weights are approximate, could be more, could be less, but it the dry weight that counts.

But yeah that white widow x bb sure looks crystally. Wish I had access to some kinda white widow, or white widow cross myself.

Hey thanks for stopping by buddy, ya I'm pretty impressed with my yield since I am a first timer. That widow cross is in a league of its own, fucking thing didn't ever want to stop growing, I had to force it to come down. Why can't you get your hands on some widow?? I just ordered the seed from a random seed bank, was the only fem seed I ordered. If you can't get some I could maybe send you a couple from Canada if you were willing to pay for the seeds, think they were $5-$7?
Lol you're absolutely right, feels like a diary that you just wish someone would read, and for the longest time I couldn't figure out how to put the link in my signature so I just posted most of my stuff, questions, pictures etc. on DonP's journal, I figured he gets lots of visitors someone is eventually going to check out my shit. Nothing like writing and the only person that responds is yourself! You almost think, "what's the point?"
How's your grow going anyways? I browse through your journal on occasion, I see you rooted some clones, Congrats how's your big plants doing in that crazy soil mix you were putting in the big plots in your back yard? And the chem D, did you sort out how to solve the split stalk?
And ya absolutely PARTY IS AT MY HOUSE in about 2 weeks time, can't smoke all this fine dope myself. I was hoping to get maybe an oz. or two for personal smoke, now I got a half pound, I might need to sell/give some away, I will have brain damage if I smoke this all myself. So bring a paper, a REALLLLY big one and let's get lifted

So just an update with the drying process, I have an oscillating fan on one side of the strings and on the other side I have a space heater hoping this will speed up the process a bit. Would like to be curing these within a few days. I plan to flip the buds around so each side of the bud on each string drys at the same rate. Everything is looking good my jock buds all of the hairs have changed to a nice bright red color looks like it will be fruity
