Jandre2k3's Cardboard Flowerbox - 41 Week Perpetual SOG Part2

Re: Jandre2k3's Cardboard Flowerbox - 41 Week Perpetual SOG Part2 - Blue Planet Nutri

What do you use when you transplant if your going to soil at all? OR are you sticking with hydro on all plants??

Last weekend, I just converted all my top drip bins to Ebb-&-Flow. I've done soil in an Ebb-&-Flow before, but those were marsh plants, and used to the rise and fall of the water level. Pitcher Plants, Venus Flytraps, Sundew, those types. I guess with a short enough fill, and far enough in between fills, Ebb-&-Flow would work for soil, or a coco/soil hybrid mix, but I'm going to stay all hydroponics. I don't have the room to keep masses of soil, and buckets, nor do I have the headroom that would allow for a bucket big enough to support a good plant in the flower box. I guess if I cut a hole in the bottom of the box, and set the bucket in the res storage box below... nah.. I'm staying hydro. I've learned too much about hydro to abandon it now.

When I transplant from Neonatal, it's more of just setting the rockwool cube into a 3" netpot, and burying that in hydroton in my Ebb-&-Flow K-8 (Veg1) bin and setting the res for 1/4 nutes. I can post pics of what exactly I do there, if you need. Just lemme know.

I was asking because I took my clones out of the bubble cloner and transplanted them into soil. And to prevent shock I wanted to know what's best to use like great white or mykos? Just wondering if there was a preferred transplant powder or liquid other than super thrive b-1 and so one.. I used bone meal this time but wondering what else would be great to get the roots set in nice

Hmmm... I just had a thought... Were you asking me what you transplant the rooted clones into if going to soil? You just fill your pot with soil, pack it lightly, dig out a 3" hole to receive the rockwool and roots, and place the new rootball down in the hole. Once that's done, just cover it over, very lightly tamp the soil down, and water it in. The rockwool is inert and will not react with any medium you put it into. The roots at the base of the plant will eventually consume the rockwool cube, or otherwise obliterate it. It's just a little 1.5"Lx1.5"Wx2"H spun basalt rock cube... it will not hinder the plant at all.

If you're staying with the Blue Planet Nutrients line, use the VitaBlue at 1/2tsp per Gallon. Water the clones in as above with the VitaBlue solution. the B-Complex will help prevent stress, and promote strong roots at the same time.

Hehe, more like "duh, man..." Leave it to me to try to change years of doing something one way and screw it up royally all for a larger bottom line. Well, I was just taught that the bottom line is not what's important, here. Quality, and quantity is. So... I'll stay with what I know for now, yeah?

Now that's a very good idea!

Well I'll be doing that in the future as I haven't got the BPN yet. I think he's on vacation right now, so hell ship them when he gets back.

Re: Jandre2k3's Cardboard Flowerbox - 41 Week Perpetual SOG Part2 - Blue Planet Nutri

It is the Eve of Christmas Eve. The Solstice Celebration was yesterday, and the days will only get longer from this day forward. Time to begin anew, and leave the past where it is. To look forward to the best life has to offer, and leave past troubles behind. We ask for help in letting those things go that should not be a burden in our lives and in our minds and in our hearts.

With yesterday gone, and as the first full moon approaches after winter solstice, we hope for love, wealth, success, courage, friendship, luck and health, in the year to come. This is also the time to hope for peace, and practice good will toward all. There is a long journey yet, for each of us; This is the time to step back onto our intended path. Walk
joyfully with those that travel with us, and bid farewell to those that are on a different journey, and wish them well. So that it harm none, do as you will. Merry meet, and merry part, until we should meet again-

Blessed Be
