InTheShed Grows Inside & Out: Jump In Any Time

Today's seed news is back here!

Thanks Twelve, and nice to see your smiling face around these parts. :ciao:
Thank you kindly I know I’m not around much work and the kids have all my time going to start a grow soon tho when I get some beans in as well as the tent setup. We are going corn as decoy plants lmao. I have some photo seeds from when my mainlining attempt went hermi but since I’ll be growing in my bedroom I don’t want to have the window open going into fall it’s cold by the water

Thank you GV! No finger hash and all the trim in the trash. I've sprayed it with neem, didn't wash it, and still have plenty of legit Candida flowers in jars for whenever I need to made CBD oil. This plant 100% served its purpose and will now be composted by the City of Los Angeles' Sanitation Department!
Nice, I used to vape CBD/veg glyc daily then I switched that up for THC and messed up 2 of my non smoking buddies 🤣🤣
😮😮 You don't compost at home?? My front yard is booming with my home made compost in well chuffed 😁
I bet some of those pale seeds I tossed sprout wherever they end up.
That's was the first thing I thought 🤣

:ciao: all! It's been a little bit since I've been here (very busy weekend) and I've got a few things to go over, but let me just do the Tuesday update on the seeded Candida harvest from Sunday and Monday.

Sunday was flip day 64 and the plant looked like this:

It was barely drinking, so I took a few seed pods off from various spots, and they all looked like this:

Good enough for me, so I went about taking off the buds individually from the stems:

Here's what I ended up with:

For the record here are the roots:

I put the flowers in a box with a fan on them for the rest of the day, and closed it up with the dehuey on overnight.

Then I spent almost all day Monday breaking apart each flower on a seed hunt. This literally took 6-8 hours of searching, re-searching, sifting, sorting, and cleaning out the vegetation. In the end, here is what I ended up with:

I threw out the pale ones, along with the mashed up flowers:

Which leaves me with these:

I have them out drying for a couple of weeks, and then I'll test germinate a couple to make sure they're viable. Remember, these are not for sale, only to be handed out as gifts for those in need.

Finally, one main lesson I will take away from this is to flip the STS plant a week to 10 days before the one that will be pollinated so I don't miss any of the early pistils. My sense is that the pale seeds would have turned into more viable ones if I had gotten them pollinated earlier.

:thanks: for hanging around for the Candida seed-making process!

LOL! Testing is currently underway...

Most folks use the peppermint oil version (it's nicer to brush your teeth with and also masks ant trails). And I use 4 Tbs/gallon (same mix as the video) when I'm using it for pests.

Thanks for the recommendation 013! I haven't given any bacterial methods a try, but if the cheap methods all fail I might have to head down that road. @seaofgreen18 recommended Bacillus subtilis strain QST 713 (brand name Cease) which is supposed to work for PM and botrytis when alternated with potassium bicarbonate.

Nice find, thanks!
congrats Shed, looks lie a nice seed haul & hope they are all good

Corn sounds like a great stealth method! And besides the hermie seeds, what else you going to sprout?

And excellent idea to keep the window closed in winter, unlike the old place. :)

Har! My wife gave up the vape after the ICU visit with asthma, but she only smokes THC flower anyway. The CBD goes straight to oil.

No room to compost at my place, and the front yard is booming with artificial turf. ;)
congrats Shed, looks lie a nice seed haul & hope they are all good
Thank you con! I'll know in a couple of weeks if it's a successful as it looks. :thumb:
wow!! You have seeds for days that is awesome!!
IKR? It's great when a plan comes together. Thanks Ke0ncp!

Im not sure yet saw some auto death bubba seeds on @The Seed Fair website the breeder from my last grow also dropped some new autos as well. Just depends on budget to be honest. My co workers all loved the Plant Of The Grapes that I grew was a nice ego boost lol

Congratulations on a bumper seed haul, Shed. They look like beauties. I look forward to the sprout test.

Noted. Thank you!

Gotta love good feedback! Drop a link somewhere you start up again (here for example, :) ) so we can follow along.

Thanks Carmen, I'm looking forward to it too!
Noted. Thank you!

Congrats on the big ol' bag o seeds!
How will you store them after they are properly dried?
Thanks Grateful! They'll go in a plastic salsa container in the back of the fridge with the rest of the seedbank.

Great work on the seed harvest Shed!

I bet some of those pale seeds I tossed sprout wherever they end up.
I reckon probably more than some if my experience of germinating pale seeds that were only 16 days old is anything to go by.

Thanks Stunger! I wonder how the pros do it. Turn it over and shake? :hmmmm:

16 days is crazy young so it's good that you got some to sprout! My 2021 Candida seed harvest only got to around 20 days, so I kept a much wider assortment of colors, but with this one I thought I'd stick with the obvious keepers.

I found a pic of the seeds from last time, but I only saved about 50 and they've been almost all handed out now:

Man those are some Good Looking Seeds and a lot of them ,could have been more but look on the positive side ! You have did very good and learning too .
Thanks sb! I feel better about these (assuming they pass the germination test) because they're totally mature. When I would give out seeds from the last batch I felt like I had to give extra in case they were sketchy due to their immaturity. Turns out that no one had a problem growing them. :thumb:
