InTheShed Grows Inside & Out: Jump In Any Time

I'm coming on a year , 3rd grow so I'm clueless. Supposed to have all the deficiencies found from r/o water in my nute and soil line. I think hydro would be more of a balancing act than with soil but again I'm new. There is iron and lots of buffering microbes. I've never once had a deficiency. I've followed the don't bother PHing and feed regularly usually every watering. They never get just r/o water. There's nothing in it. But full of organics I'm not so sure it makes sense any more. I do like to keep it simple. But I'm learning from you.

I think the concept I liked was I had chlorine and 175 tds of who knows what. With r/o you start from zero and add what is wanted. Something like that.

Lady G! Your not supposed to divulge code of conduct from the Handbook! But now that you have...Hey Shed, don't bet her that you have more money in your wallet than she does....cuz she'll pull Jane Jetson on you!:rofl::rofl:

And by the way! I love me some hemp seeds in my morning smoothie! Put them in you oatmeal too! I make hemp seed, almond flour, and flax crackers. I have to find that recipe. Yummy!

*HAHAHAHAHA LG, that's HIGHlarious....OH no I gave out a secret from the handbook, now some men are going to think all women are MANipulative, oh wait, they already do, imaginary handbook successful!

*ITS, my friend Ninja eats his hemp in his cereal...would fair well in milk I think since LG says she likes smoothies too.

Soil grows respond best when the soil is treated with dolomite lime.

Ooh! Recipe please LadyG .

Anna Jones has a recipe for crackers made just from seeds... will have to check that, I'm sure hemp seeds could be added in there...

Use spring water from a local mountain or something if you can. This is good shit lol they have tubes pounded into the ground on the sides of the road around here. My water source is good now that I've moved but in the past I had to resort to getting 50 gallons at a time from the spring. But it's awesome stuff I swear. Ph is always somewhere in the low to mid 6's. And the plants just perk up so much more when using that compared to any other water source I've found.

I miss that good water.........our well water around here sucks!!! Which is an even better reason to go out hunting, get to drink some good water.

Evening Shed, sorry didn’t mean to be rude just Rooster got me side tracked with his kick ass mountain water.
Hope all is well for ya brother.

Blessed Buds our friend and be well :passitleft:

Penny a soil grower? With the amount of chlorine in my water alone I don't drink it or feed it to plants with microbes

I grow in living organic soil and I have terrible tap water. I don't measure PPM ever. I will share a little trick that I started using and I haven't even pH'd water other than to check every once in a while.

I take a 5 gallon bucket and fill it to my required levels. Currently thats about 2.5-3 gallons per batch. My tap water pH directly from the faucet is about 9.2 or 9.3 which is bad to be frank. But if I let that water sit out in the 5 gallon bucket for 2 days it drops to about 7.5 in pH. Now I add in my amendments for my ACT (Aerated Compost Tea) which is roughly 1 cup of EWC (Earth Worm Castings) and 1/2 teaspoon of finely ground Kelp and 1-2 Tablespoons of Molasses. I let my tea brew for about 12-24 hours and the pH of my ACT is now in the 7.1 range.

Letting the water sit in the buckets (you can also run an airstone in the plain water to speed the process up a little) for that 24-48 hours before brewing the ACT gets rid of almost all the chlorine in it and allows you to use it on plants with no worries, especially in good soil.

Quickie Wednesday update:

Grey day so I'm glad everyone was out enjoying the sun yesterday. Here is Sour G on day 32:

I'm going to top it tomorrow now that I can see enough room to get the scissors in there!

Gold Leaf got watered today (full strength) and needs an up-pot this weekend. I moved the clones into the Oval of Brightness®, but off to the side so they don't burn. I got really tired of having that clone box on the office floor. Except for a two week break, it's been there since October! They got bottom-soaked last night. First water since the transplant.

See y'all around the journals today :).

It is funny how little things like that find their way into whatever space is available, as small as it is, it can get really frustrating because you can't really foresee some of the impacts such a small box/annoyance can have in the long term. That is part of the learning curve.

Thursday has arrived, and with it comes the scissors! Yes folks it's time to top the Sour G, sterilized scissors in hand, on day 33:

Here is Gold Leaf looking happy after the topping. New pot this weekend!

And another leaf issue on the AK-47. Not sure why it's being so difficult:

This one looks like calcium deficiency to me, so I'll be bumping up the cal/mag+ from 3ml to 5ml/gal next watering.

I hope your bones are hard and your pillow is soft. Have a great day!

Looks good shed! Little deficiency to work out but nothing crippling... watch the ca mg bump because of they are asking for one doesn't always mean they want more of the others.

If I were as technically inclined as you and had a memory, I would link you to Bob Brown's post.... okay I'll look to edit it back in after this....

Egg shells and vinegar create calcium something-tate or -ide (forgive my chemistry) a compound the plant can uptake directly.

Okay I'm failing I'll go find the post .
