InTheShed Grows Inside & Out: Jump In Any Time

Hey you two! That shatter is working its magic otter :).

Quickie Tuesday update.

Last night I decided to prop open the domes on the PC cuttings, stuck in soil 9 days ago. Sink or swim time because I have a load of monstercrop cuttings to plant:

And here are the big three in their overnight home. The light comes on at 6am, and they got moved in the shed around 8:30 because weather:

The Mars 300 sits directly over Sour G, which is okay because it gets the least light at the far end of the oval in the shed. And speaking of the light in the shed, I raised it about 4" and turned it up to 300w. Yes, there is now a gap between the walls and the top, but I needed a wider spread. I reset the temp gauge to see if it stays warm at soil level even though the area isn't closed.

I'm hoping that Mars will be sending the new light soon as I'd prefer more lux and more even coverage in the tent for those few hours.

Off to see what you're up to this morning...

I'm thinking I would need to hire a "guy" just to pick up and move my plants for me if I were in pots that size. How big are they? Did I ask this already? If so just pretend like I didn't. I've recently changed from flowering in 3 gallon pots up to 5 gallon pots and even those are tough for me to move. I guess mostly because the plants themselves are bigger and stick way out over the sides of the pots making them more cumbersome. Not so much the added weight but the size of the plant makes it tougher.

These are all in 10 gallon pots so they're pretty heavy, particularly after watering. The AK and Sour G are both in the last of my soil so they're even heavier than the Peyote Critical in ProMix HP. Maybe I'll weigh them next time I water so I'll really know what I'm schlepping around!
Looking great Shed. Hopefully you won't have to move them as much after this final rain does its thing.
Is this the final rain? Promise? I checked the weather and even without the rain it still says clouds for most of the next 10 days, so it won't be warm enough for them to be outside during the day. Air temps are still too cold.

And even in the summer, those in flower get moved into the dark at night and out again in the morning, and those in veg go under the lights at night for extra growth (if they aren't too big already ;)). Moving plants is just part of my grow thang now. That said, it is easier to put them outside for the day than swap growing spaces under the lights!

The big three are looking fantastic and healthy I thought till I read they are in 10-gallon pots and realized they are huge too. Good job Shed. :thumb: :ciao: :headbanger:

Thanks Homer! Given how long my photos tend to run I use 10 gallon pots for all of them. I use 7 gallons for my autos, but I think each of these plants will be rootbound when I pull them out of the pots.

I'll try to remember to measure them tomorrow so you can get a better idea of their size.

If you think you have some roots that don't have much room you can take a piece of nomex wire and poke like 6-8 holes in the media in different places ever 3-4 days. That really helps the plant uptake nutes better. My flower girl is actually pushing the coco out of the top of the pot. Never had that happen before. Weird

Oh yeah, I remember that hand-drawn diagram you did a while back. Thanks Derby! If I see any changes in the plant that look like it's looking for an up-can I will keep that in mind. I have some romex left that I haven't stripped for tie-down wire :). Can I use ¼" bamboo poles as well? I may be using them for bud support anyway.

Rootbound in a 10-gallon is pretty impressive. I guess that California sun does the trick! Sure, it would be interesting to get a measurement. :thumb:

Keep in mind that the Sour G was a clone that went into soil in June of last year, and the AK-47 was a clone that has been around since this summer sometime (the date wore off the label). Veg that long and you're sure to get rootbound plants :).
I just went back to find the origin of the Sour G clone, and I discovered it was cut in May 12, 2018 (top left):

and went into a pot on June 23rd:

At some point I will backtrack the AK-47 as well!

That's a whole different level of patience I don't have.
