InTheShed Grows Inside & Out: Jump In Any Time

TBH I have not followed the chart as many have... in veg I go 60-70% and veg I just tried to keep as low as possible, normally between 32-35% but goes up to 45% when watered.
I just don't have that kind of control so I just go from one end of the scale to the other.

I know, I’m in your same confused boat Mr. S. I thought rh in the 60’s in flower was when bud rot/molds, etc. would appear? :hmmmm:
I agree with Shed that there should be no mold problems with higher RH levels during flower. Constant air movement is key and also moving the pots around I find is a benefit. Almost like rotating the tires on your car.

As a new grower like myself the things you learn early make sense. I was always led to believe low RH is what you want, but on my first grow I was hitting 65-70 easily in the summer and had no issues. But I tell you I was freaking out with the knowledge I had at the time that it was too high.

Monday update all! I hope you all enjoyed the Oscars last night and have been practicing safe downloads, but I have some pics for those who like pics or can't or don't enjoy reading.

As I mentioned last night, I thinned the big three because there was very little light penetration below the canopy or airflow down under. It was also 3 weeks from flip, though I'm not convinced they're done stretching. I took before and after pics of the front view (I forgot to line the pot up in two of them...sorry), but there isn't enough difference from above to make it worth your bandwidth for those pics. Flip day 24...

Here is the AK-47 before and after:

The Sour G before and after:

The Peyote Critical (day 139):

The Peyote Critical before and after from underneath:

And the monstercrop cuttings I kept.

The rest of what I took off fit in a quart ziplock when flattened. It went in the freezer with the old stems and roots for skin salve after harvest. I'll post that tutorial when I make it (in May).

PC has the first signs of frost!

And I'm a bit confused by the way it's flowering, because it's looking like a sativa though it's listed as "mostly indica" on the Barney's website. I picked this one to grow because I need an indica to replace the BBa I use for my dad's meds.

Have to see how is smokes. If it's too heady, maybe the Blue Treacle auto will work for my dad. It's Blueberry x Afghani x Nepalese x Hawaiian.

And since @newty asked how the Candidas were coming along, here they are this morning on day 89. I supercrop something on these almost every day. Mostly in or to the side.

Too many pics? I try not to bombard you with a lot all at once, but it is Monday after all. I hope you have a great week ahead! :peace:

Me too, but how far back did you start reading? That's from September...o_O

Part of the backyard remodel last spring when the turf went in. Still haven't sorted out the fire table though. Gas line is pretty narrow so it won't put out the heat I wanted.
Those are some healthy girls. Nice work!

It depends on the ambient temperature as well i think - Ive seen “master growers” recommend that folks having issues with difficult to control high temps would benefit from raising teh humidity to compensate. Not to crazy levels or anything. In my experience and research mold is more likely when high humidity couples with low temps.

I know a lot of DocB’s recommendations come with pretty good plant science behind them and his recommendation is 55-65% in veg and 45-55% in flower - so that would be what he considers optimum conditions - which is different to what a plant will survive in. ANd again - all relative to temp (VPD!! I’m so happy I understand that now, thanks to Archi!)

Totally considered it today too! We got up to 74° with no clouds. I'm just sketched out about bringing in any pests. I just cleaned the hell outta the growroom and reset it for the new babies. I'd be crushed if I invited some thrips in. LoL

I decided against it.

I know, im being more cautious than i was in the past.

A person can learn more in here, in just a few pages, than just about anywhere.
Thanks Grandpa! We cover a lot of topics in a little time :).

---------------------------------------------------

Thursday update time! I'll show some pics of the plants that aren't often seen here, but first I wanted to mention that I forgot to reset the timer in the shed yesterday morning so the big three got 14.5 hours of light, but 12 hours of darkness after I moved them into the tent. Today they will get 9.5 hours of light and then back to 12/12 again. This happened with the AK-47 last year to no ill effects so I'm not going to worry about it, but thought I would mention it out loud so I remember to check the timer and move it from ON to TIMER in the mornings!

I went to visit my dad last night and he was unintentionally hysterical. He was asleep in bed when I got there, so I said hello as I usually do to see if he wakes up. He did, and after a short exchange of greetings, he began what turned into a 30 minute monologue, with just a few words from me like "Absolutely" or "Right." He went on non-stop, and after 10 minutes I decided to record it because it seemed too good to miss, and he continued for another 20. I had no idea when he would finish because it was train-of-thought from someone with dementia, so none of it made sense in any real sense, and it also included some made up words. He went from one topic to the next (returning occasionally to a few themes), and suddenly after half an hour, ended a sentence with, "That's all." I laughed, he smiled, and after that we had a regular conversation and sang some songs until it was time for me to head home.

Besides the fact that he had so much to say, his cadence and the way he phrased his thoughts was the same as it has been his entire life. It was just the content that clued you in to his dementia. And perhaps the fact that he needed no input from me. He never used to have that much to get off his chest!

On to some plants...

Here is the top of the Peyote Critical that I took off when I started the quadline, so PC 1.1:

Next up is the top of the Candida CDNT, so CDNT 1.1:

Here is what will be my next Sour G, taken from the current one in flower, so Sour G 1.1.1:

And last for the day, my Bedroom Cookies 2.2 clone from @Archiweedies:

It was in FFOF when I got it so I didn't fertilize it, but a few weeks after the up-pot it began to show signs of...

calcium deficiency:

and something else as well:

So now it's on the MegaCrop bandwagon along with everything else in veg. It does look a little N heavy on top but I'm going to let that ride for a bit. It's only under the CFL for now but I'm planning on putting it in the tent during the daytime starting tomorrow, so it will probably need the food.

Everything is indoors again and I'm checking timers every time I move the plants. :thumb:
