Oh gotcha! Maybe they mean when the plant has 3-5 fingers on each leaf? I would at least wait for alternating nodes or the pistils that show sexual maturity before reaching for the STS.

I haven't posted my process but it is similar to the tutorial @InTheShed posted awhile back.
I start by decarbing my THCA flower. (I will be changing this process also as I picked up a Black Friday deal on an Ink Bird sous vide).
I've been using a MagicalButter to do my extraction with EverClear.

The rest of the process is dangerous and I plan to start using a still for the alcohol evaporation (additional recommendations on a cost effective still and more details on that process would be most welcome).

I then use a pyrex dish in a crock pot to evaporate the ethanol. Unlike most, I use vegetable oil instead of water in the crock pot. As the ethanol evaporates I add more extract to the pyrex dish until all I'm left with is a tar. My wife then scoops out a small amount of tar and pastes it onto a zyrtec pill that she swallows like any other pill.

LOL I have red, light blue, and dark blue cups, plus red ribbed ones (for her pleasure) that I use for perlite cuttings. The light blue ones are reserved for Candida cuttings to make them easy to keep track of. They're so old they don't hold water anymore so they go outside newer dark blue ones that don't leak.
Anything I can do to help spur the Thai economy works for me!

Stick to oil infusion for now and work your way up to solvent extractions if you want something more concentrated. Another option would be to get a rosin press, and Grandpa has a thread on that as well!

for sure just going one step at a time first step get the seeds then go from there, was trained in dangerous goods & hazardous materials data and handling & tanker drain & evac & sniffer test but baby steps for now decarb and into coconut oil or olive oil for edibles or try the rosin press might be all i need but won't be doing anything till late summer or fall so lots of time to get it figured out

I have a hazardous material question since you brought it up. Would any old organic vapor mask do for ethanol? What would you recommend?
Specific cartridges for gas and vapors . I like an open patio for QWET as I filter twice for shatter . Rosin for the purest.

Thanks WH! Which cartridges if you know? I've still got a touch of the PTSD from my experience with the methanol laying me out for three days back in 2021, so even outside won't work for me. I'm hoping a mask and butyl gloves might be enough, but who knows if I can actually go through with the extraction!
for short term exposure any decent charcoal filter/canister style which are replaceable with or with out full face protection but the fumes might irritate the eyes/skin full face will protect skin and eyes if you get splashed or if your going to use it a lot and have the $ get a powered one, powered air purifying respirator a regular particulate filter is no good for fumesAccording to this site's rules, we're all grown ups! Thanks con! I would be using it outside but it need to completely block the smell if I have a chance to try it again. So any 3M OV rated mask would do?
