InTheShed Grows Inside & Out: Jump In Any Time

Thanks WH! Which cartridges if you know? I've still got a touch of the PTSD from my experience with the methanol laying me out for three days back in 2021, so even outside won't work for me. I'm hoping a mask and butyl gloves might be enough, but who knows if I can actually go through with the extraction!
I’ve got the 3M OVC 6001 cartridges, we use them on the hazmat team (anhydrous ammonia) . I remember when it got you , this stuff is dangerous.
Pressed rosin for the win .

LOL I have red, light blue, and dark blue cups, plus red ribbed ones (for her pleasure) that I use for perlite cuttings. The light blue ones are reserved for Candida cuttings to make them easy to keep track of. They're so old they don't hold water anymore so they go outside newer dark blue ones that don't leak. :)

Anything I can do to help spur the Thai economy works for me!

stardawg has you covered with a great answer!

A bit crazed. o_O

Thanks Carmen!

Whoa branching out, noice.

You are really going all in Nick. :welldone:

:thanks:

My only additional resources would be Grandpa's thread on QWET but with the addition of the temp-adjustable distiller, and my post on oil extractions without a Magical Butter Machine.

Oh wow, thanks for letting me know Captain!

Perfectly acceptable on this site. :cheesygrinsmiley:
Thanks for your Oh So Interesting link on Ribbed for her pleasure. I’m sure it will really help on trivia nite. (Not) CL🍀

Thanks con! I would be using it outside but it need to completely block the smell if I have a chance to try it again. So any 3M OV rated mask would do?
organic vapor mask probably would be fine as you would be outdoors cheap & disposable, might get the odd wiff of vapor cause the seal around the mouth and nose is not perfect resperator style would give you a better seal

Thank you WH, it was an awful experience, and I still have trouble when I pass that Buchner funnel thing in the box in the garage. Pressed rosin would be ideal but I'm not sure it's clean enough to work alone in a vape cart. That was the only reason I headed down the extraction road.

Were you not of the age of majority in the 80s when that ad came out? It's always been a running joke among folks of my generation: "That golf club has a better grip because the handle is ribbed." "Yeah, for her pleasure."

You get the idea!

Oh it would definitely be the respirator type. Thanks con!

Yeah I’ve heard it a lot but I really didn’t need to know where it came from. But my curiosity got the better of me so like your train link wasted time I’ll never get back. Lmao CL🍀 :woohoo: :cheesygrinsmiley::thanks::Namaste:

Hi Shed, when I polyurathaned my whole top floor after laying new flooring I used yellow round cans in my respirator. Never knew I was in the environment as I layed new coats down. That's so not scientific but yellow does it if you have a round cart mask. Read on them as you shop, they're all rated for something. Maybe black's for you.

I gave up my quest for pure diy rosin for vape carts. A few days ago I tried some @PeakSupplyCo terpenes and viscosity booster. My first cart is giving me much less bite hitting it. That bite was its Achilles heel! Taste is very nice compared. Still testing.

We're still flower vapers for the most part. This is for something fast and different and portable.

So one .5ml cart almost done and taste degrades a little but nice draw and acceptable taste. I went with Tangie terp in my stankberry rosen from outdoors 2 summers ago. Both terp and booster were .5 ml each into 5 ml rosen as the Peak recipe stated to begin with. Big improvement! Straight rosen was not getting heated properly I think from what I'm reading.

[For those wondering why I'm cloning the LeC when I have many seeds left, it's something I do when I plan on getting medical plants tested, so I don't need to test every time I flower one out in the future.]
Excellent strategy. :thumb:
They went outside a bit late today to avoid the workers arriving for the kitchen!
Kitchen remodel :woohoo: Exciting times, scary times! :goodluck:

Wow.

Catching up on posts think I missed earlier but basically everything I quote below - super high end sounding thoughts on the oils/tinctures/roisin front.

Thank you! Really interesting.

Hi Shed,
This winter I want to try another photoperiod grow.
Could you please tell me what kind of heater will give me enough warmth to heat up my small living room to an ambient temp suitable to take them to the finish line, whilst burning as few kWh as possible,? It must be a small budget item.
We don't have access to Amazon here, so I will look on local sites when I know the type and wattage you think I might need. I don't need optimal temps, just enough to stay above 13 C on the really cold days. Also, what is the ideal humidity for them to flourish?

To be fair it was @BeezLuiz who started it, I merely discussed golf carts after his derailment of the topic at hand.

LOL we're all innocent here as it was the good Captain who feels like his time was wasted. :cheesygrinsmiley:
Solo Pot Game Upgraded.
Whoa! You are really going all out for variety there Nick, including a kind of baby-shit brown. They'll make any color these days!

:thanks: Otter! That's the same pdf I find whenever I search for masks for ethanol. :high-five:

Good info! I don't think I realized the bite was this issue with the heated resin vape carts. I thought it was more that they would clog before you could use it all up.

I honestly don't trust terp juice (terpenes aren't liquid after all so there's some carrier in there), and if I can't reproduce a live resin cart (resin-only) I can't see the value in going through the process.

I won an Cipher Nova which I'm really looking forward to seeing how it performs. I haven't seen an official 420 review here yet.
Excellent strategy.
Thanks BL!
Kitchen remodel Exciting times, scary times!
I know right? Everything I need to have breakfast is scattered across three rooms. 🏃‍♂️ On the plus side, things are moving along at a pretty good pace so maybe we'll be done under the original 6 week projection.
I think you should give up on the extraction, it’s not worth the risk.
I hear ya Boo, but a part of me feels like it might be a good thing to try to push past.
Ridiculous!
:yahoo: It seems like years since it's been here!

Good, and always feel free to ask questions! We cover a lot of great info here because I have so many of the best subscribers on the site. :ciao:

That's a great question and so dependent on what's available. Anything you get is going to be converting electricity into heat, so there's no way around the electric bill. It just needs to be compared to what you'd spend monthly at a dispo (or black market) for your meds.

My first answer would be an oil-filled radiator if you can get your hands on one. Mine is 1500w (which I don't ever run that high) and it cost about $50 US. It keeps the tent above 65º when it sits in the office, which is about 9x10 feet. I have it on 1 and the dial almost as low as it can go. That's about 6-8º above ambient in there at night.

The bigger the room the higher the bill, but I'll plug it into the Kill-a-watt meter and see what it's drawing overnight (between 11pm and 8am) and let you know tomorrow.

Unless you have a way to control it, don't worry about room RH. If you do, veg starts in the 60-70% range and drops to ~55-60% as they grow. In flower you want to end up in the mid 40s if possible. I have to go with whatever the weather blows in!

Baby shit brown?! 😂

But damn it Shed beats me again / @Carmen Ray yeah a three bar electric/oil radiator perfect for your climate. Your local Builders Mart or whatever will have. Buy now in your summer. They’ll be discounted. In winter in June no discount.

Even a two bar burner if your room size is small enough. Nice steady temp. Easy thermostats. Just 13c’s two burner probably fine. You’ll be worrying about keeping low

Also yeah pushing through my extraction and rosin issues. 😂

I can get one of them. What is the difference between the way that an oil heater and a ceramic heater work to heat the room? Is the oil heater better at the job and more efficient?

Okay great, I will continue to do same and turn the fan on an off when needed.

Thank you Nick! The smallest I can find seems to be a 7 fin oil heater, 1500 W. My pocket doesn't have a problem with that but my living room is so full that space, even wall space is a big issue, so I am wondering it there may not be a reasonable alternative as a second best option. For instance, the ceramic type heaters do come in smaller sizes. I was thinking that if I got a small ceramic heater like the one linked in this post, that might do the job too? That I could blow at closer range to the plants so that the warmth is concentrated around them as it dissipates into the rest of the room, but will always be fresh warmth closer to the plants? I would imagine that I would direct the fan at an angle so that it is not blowing straight onto the plants?, but maybe at a 90 degree angle?

What do you guys think?

I can get one of them. What is the difference between the way that an oil heater and a ceramic heater work to heat the room? Is the oil heater better at the job and more efficient?
I believe that ceramic heaters will heat a smaller area in front of the heater where an oil heater will gradually heat the room. They also retain heat and therefore continue to put it out when they cycle off.

I wouldn't aim a ceramic heater at the plants as one side will get really hot and the other will be room temperature. Fan might work though.

I 100% agree. The 7 fin 1500W jobby is more than enough. The beauty of it is you can put it anywhere in the room and will heat the whole space.

The heaters yeah what Shed said. When you start getting ones that move they are probably about as big as one you can leave in the corner the other side of the room and forget about.

In HK we put away our dehumidifiers in October and in November dust off the rads and put them in place of them until Spring 😅
