InTheShed Grows Inside & Out: Jump In Any Time

Shed, your summer ladies are lovely, lush and luscious...la, la, la! :thumb:

On Friday I had a conversation over in Baked's thread, where Scott asked:
Please show me a picture of your Mother, Shed. I am starting a bonzai mother and could use some pruning references.

My reply was:
I do an awful job of staying on top of the pruning of my mother plants (2 out of 3 of my current ones most folks would flower immediately!)

So in light of that, I thought I would make the Tuesday one-pic update the mother plants I currently have on the go:

No bonsais here! (Yes yes I did provide him the link to the Bonsai Mother thread on the site.)

The Sour G will go as soon as I get sprouts from the seeds, and the DV's future depends on the results of the cannabinoid testing I'm doing on the harvested flower that goes out to the lab this afternoon. Stay tuned for those results! By the way, smell-proof bags really work. ;)

Candida mothers will always be around.

Thanks for making this thread part of your day! :ciao:

Keep on he may be able to get his head through the door on the cantaloupes. ,,, I almost started some seed and be damn if my sons PO can down here looking for him !??! Glad i didn't now but i do miss it
Thanks sb, and I hope your son's PO stops checking your house for him so you can get back to growing!
Yes, cedar is on the don't use list. I don't know why, it's one I would have figured a good one.
Could be related to the acidic ph of cedar. Maybe mulch from cedar unbalances the ph of soil.
Cedar oil is pretty strong, and "[o]ne of the...methods of ancient Egyptian embalming practices employs the use of cedarwood oil."

So it might be pretty rough on the roots!

Beautiful Mothers!
I bookmarked the link soon after I joined. Have one in a square pot for better root trimming but still not properly rooted.
Keep up the good work, bro!:thumb:

Gorgeous moms Shed! So is the Doug’s Varin the closest to the way you want them pruned? And the Sour G the furthest away?

Could be.

Thanks Jon! I would say the DV is about twice the ideal size for me (something closer to the Candida would be best), and the Sour G was ready to be flipped three weeks ago. :)

Mini-update for Thursday. I put bark chips on the Summer grow on Tuesday so here are pics of that. I know...fascinating!

Purple Urkle:

Trainwreck:

I saw a few tiny white bugs on some of the chips so I have sprayed them with neem a twice since then. The plants are still alive so the chips must not be cedar, and the topsoil does seem a little more moist than it was with the sun beating on it all day, so that's good!

I should be offloading the DV 1.2 clone today (finally), so if I can just get the two pollinated Sour G plants to stop drinking I'll be back down to a plant number that will make me happy. :)

Glad to see you're feeling chipper today! :)

Can't wait to see Purple Urkle in flower!
Thanks Tim! I have to work backwards to sort out how late I can flip these. PU has a flowering time of ~65 days and TW is listed ~60 days, so if I want them down by the end of September they can get about another month of veg time. Unless, of course, they start getting too big before that, which would be nice because they don't seem to be growing very quickly. Maybe they're still getting used to the transplant. :hmmmm:
Glad to see you're feeling chipper today!
LOL!

Salutations uncle shed,

I’ve meandered back into the realm of 420. I’ll start making the rounds a little more frequently more than likely. Plants are lookin chip top shape.

Happy belated 4th of July all! I spent four days without sitting down at the computer so please excuse my absence. I have been digging a trench and hacking/tearing out roots and doing concrete and masonry work three of the last four days to put in a short retaining wall for a planter. It's my first time doing stone work so I was learning on the job. A professional would have had it done in a day and I haven't even gotten to the brick work yet.

I'll post a pic when it's finished this weekend (I hope!).

Anyway, not much plant news for the Tuesday update, but I do have an update on two mother plants.

Here are the Sour G (left) and Doug's Varin mothers this morning:

And here they were 15 minutes later:

Why is the DV mother gone? Because I got the test results back from the THCVa test this weekend:

0.09% THCVa so no reason to keep it around.

The final Sour G cutting in the perlite never rooted so I stuck in four more as long as I was thinning:

On Saturday I will test germ some of the seeds I got off the STS-sprayed one, and if they're good then I won't need to keep any of these around.

I hope you all had a safe and sane 4th and your week is as lovely as it is short! :ciao:

Thanks Chef! Your contributions are missed here. :)
Good to hear there keeping them some moister .
Thanks sb! They are moister but I've been watering more often anyway. I've decided to skip the wet/dry cycle on these and make sure they stay damp all the time. We'll see!
Happy 4th of July Shed and friends
Happy 4th Everyone! WooHoo!
Happy lets get wasted on the 4th July
Thanks gang!
