Yes, cedar is on the don't use list. I don't know why, it's one I would have figured a good one.I tried cedar chips last year - I don't recommend! 1 of 3 plants absolutely hated it.

Please show me a picture of your Mother, Shed. I am starting a bonzai mother and could use some pruning references.
I do an awful job of staying on top of the pruning of my mother plants (2 out of 3 of my current ones most folks would flower immediately!)
Next time I promise!I suppose……
It's always nice getting sung to...thanks GDB!Shed, your summer ladies are lovely, lush and luscious...la, la, la!

Cedar oil is pretty strong, and "[o]ne of the...methods of ancient Egyptian embalming practices employs the use of cedarwood oil."Could be related to the acidic ph of cedar. Maybe mulch from cedar unbalances the ph of soil.
Beautiful Mothers! On Friday I had a conversation over in Baked's thread, where Scott asked:
My reply was:
So in light of that, I thought I would make the Tuesday one-pic update the mother plants I currently have on the go:
No bonsais here! (Yes yes I did provide him the link to the Bonsai Mother thread on the site.)
The Sour G will go as soon as I get sprouts from the seeds, and the DV's future depends on the results of the cannabinoid testing I'm doing on the harvested flower that goes out to the lab this afternoon. Stay tuned for those results! By the way, smell-proof bags really work.
Candida mothers will always be around.
Thanks for making this thread part of your day!

So it might be pretty rough on the roots!

Gorgeous moms Shed! So is the Doug’s Varin the closest to the way you want them pruned? And the Sour G the furthest away?On Friday I had a conversation over in Baked's thread, where Scott asked:

Thanks scott!Beautiful Mothers!
I bookmarked the link soon after I joined. Have one in a square pot for better root trimming but still not properly rooted.
Keep up the good work, bro!
Wabbit!Could be.
Thanks Jon! I would say the DV is about twice the ideal size for me (something closer to the Candida would be best), and the Sour G was ready to be flipped three weeks ago.Gorgeous moms Shed! So is the Doug’s Varin the closest to the way you want them pruned? And the Sour G the furthest away?
Thanks Tim! I have to work backwards to sort out how late I can flip these. PU has a flowering time of ~65 days and TW is listed ~60 days, so if I want them down by the end of September they can get about another month of veg time. Unless, of course, they start getting too big before that, which would be nice because they don't seem to be growing very quickly. Maybe they're still getting used to the transplant. Can't wait to see Purple Urkle in flower!
LOL!Glad to see you're feeling chipper today!
Woof woof!Bow wow nice bark job!
Thanks Chef! Your contributions are missed here.Salutations uncle shed,
I’ve meandered back into the realm of 420. I’ll start making the rounds a little more frequently more than likely. Plants are lookin chip top shape.
Thanks sb! They are moister but I've been watering more often anyway. I've decided to skip the wet/dry cycle on these and make sure they stay damp all the time. We'll see!Good to hear there keeping them some moister .
Happy 4th of July Shed and friends
Happy 4th Everyone! WooHoo!
