InTheShed Grows Inside & Out: Jump In Any Time

Okay, let's get to the sniffing sneezing stuffed and runny nose kinda Monday update, the one where we talk about Saturday!

Saturday is when I chopped the Tin Can Kush on flip day 75, total days above ground was 176. It sat in the dark for three days and smelled less when I took it out of the shed than when I put it in. Tin Can Kush is a cross between Golden Goat x Tahoe OG Kush, named by @StoneOtter.

Here it is untied and plucked of fans:

The little ones chewed on the bones-o:

In case you missed it, just a few of the hundreds of nanners that came off in the wash:

And here it is all hung in the box:

It's down to about 70% this morning with the fan on oscillate.

For those who can handle pics one more than topic, here is the Jack Herer this morning on day 24:

And the SaugaView®:

I sprayed everything down with Safer's this morning and will rinse it tomorrow. I've got some unidentified bugs that I wanted to make sure died post haste.

In other news, not much happening on the Candida dented seed test. One sprouted, one sprouted but won't uncurl, and the other hasn't quite broken the surface. The floater in the middle is nowhere to be seen.

I'll get pics of that and the rest of the grow tomorrow. I hope you're all doing well and had a great weekend, now on to the quotes I missed from Saturday:

Those look great.
Thanks BigD!

Looking good. I can almost smell them from here.
It's a mix of coffee and skunk...nice!
This is why a hole is handy - it’s very easy to tell the height of the water level.
It's not the water level that's the problem as clear cup would solve that. It's where the stem is.
But you said all of your clear cups had holes. And the clones are in these cups with perlite already.
What Azimuth said:
I think he means holes on the bottom.
The clear cups all have holes in the bottom for drainage. The cuttings are in solid cups with perlite and no holes.
Careful there, @FelipeBlu . Don't rub it in. He's a bit sensitive on the topic for some reason..
Har! Let me see if I can help you out before you waste any more time on trying to get me to grow in hempy. Some folks don't want to mix their own soil, some don't have the interest, time, or resources to grow R/DWC, and some folks don't want to carry buckets with water at the bottom from an inside area that should never get wet to an outside area where they will blow over hourly. Oh, and that's two times every single day of the grow. You should really nag someone for whom hempy can work with their growing method, as it sure doesn't work with mine!

In terms of cloning in perlite, I agreed to give it a shot because VG and double H are really set on it, but once I see how it works, I will most likely go back to my old tried and true method created by @beez0404 that has worked almost flawlessly for me for the past three years.
I guess I’m just an optimist and keep hoping he’ll eventually see the light..
ness of the perlite might save his back (and another hernia)
Well done! I'm good with a 7 gallon pot of soaking wet ProMix HP. 10 gallons is too much these days.
Thanks Norcali! Hope you're well. :peace:

I cut a clones stem so it's as long as my pointer finger. I make a hole with that same finger in the perlite. If I feel water I pour a little out. Then I place the cutting in the perlite.
This way the cutting is not in the water.
I usually check for roots by filling the perlite until it floats. Then you can wiggle the cutting out and not have to worry about shearing the roots off.
Replace the cutting if needed. Same deal. Make a hole and poke around in there.
Hope that clears it up??

Bummer about the cold, glad to hear you’re bouncing back already Shed. Bye, bye, bye to the tin can clones, I echo what dynamo said - there’s too much other good stuff out there. Glad to see a JH back to the healthy shape I’m used to seeing from this garden, hooray for promix! :thumb:

Ok, fair enough. What was intended as good hearted joking around seems instead like it is hitting a nerve. You won't hear from me on that topic again.

Apologies if I offended in any way.

Thank you double H! That JH replacement is doing everything right so far, which means I am as well. :thumb:

No problem Azi! Not hitting a nerve, but I don't want to have to spend too much time defending my decision not to grow in hempy. Nor do I want you to get your hopes up. It simply wouldn't work for me. :)

But I must add, things are looking very green this round. Great looking return from the TCK. Nicely done! That is all.
Thank you MrS! Jack is on something like 3g/gallon MC. The summer/fall grow is on 4.5g/gallon and I just remembered to add Si with today's watering. Back to basics, at least for veg. Flower will have me searching again.
That TCK sure looks good hanging
Thanks Nev! I hope no one likes it too much so no one will mourn the clones I dumped. :)
I’d have to say you have a happy Jack right there.
Happy Jack?

I don’t believe I’ve ever seen or noticed, do you compost your hermies and other weed debris? Just curious I try to a little but space is limited here for me.

For those who can handle pics one more than topic, here is the Jack Herer this morning on day 24:

And the SaugaView®:

Good morning, Mr. Shed.

I had a good inkling this morning that you were out and about as I had 175 notifications this morning just since yesterday! Meanwhile, during the weekend, when I was away (and you were sick), I only received 57 notifications from Saturday morning to Sunday night. :laughtwo:

Anyhow, I'm happy to see you out and about again.

Congrats on the Tin Can Kush harvest! And, your Jack Herer is looking nice. This isn't the one that grew with 2 heads though, is it? Are you planning on topping this one? And, if so, when?

Tuesday update is a tour of the garden! With the exception of the JH (that you saw yesterday), here is everything I have growing from smallest to biggest...

The Candida dented seed test is not living up to its earlier potential a week later:

Only the one that hadn't cracked when I put it in the peat is actually growing, but even it doesn't have a tap root from the bottom. I'll probably plant it tomorrow and see if that keeps growing.

Next up are the cuttings. Four Sour G and two Jack Herer:

The Sour G top that was alive with no roots when I replanted it in ProMix HP now has roots out the bottom! So weird. Also, I scoped out the black on the JH leaves for @Virgin Ground and they were completely dry and not in contact with the perlite.

Here are the clones:

I have a Red Dragon mother (below) so I don't know why I'm keeping the RD clones. I will probably flower out at least one of the Candida-from-clone clones later this year to replenish my stock for oil, but the sativa Candida from seed I'm keeping out of novelty at this point.

Moving on to the mothers:

And finally, the summer/fall grow Sour G and Chiquita Banana (day 112/113) flanking the Big-Gulp Candida I will be flipping in the closet tonight to eventually pollinate:

That's the dime tour of my grow! I hope all is well with you and yours. Stay safe, and every 20 minutes or so try to say bless you/gesundheit for me. :)

:ciao:

Thanks HG! It's nice to be able to move, but breathing through my nose would be good too. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I thought only you had a two-headed JH! I will be topping this one, and I usually top above the 8th or 9th node. Height is never an issue for me, just fitting them through the door twice a day.

Just when you thought you were rid of me.

So the JH cutting has black leaves but the Sour G cutting doesn't? That's confounding.:hmmmm:

Excuse you BTW!

Perhaps it’s because they look so nice and your just so damn happy that you’ve got some good ProMix that you can finally grow shit in.

Oh and one more thing………Gesundheit!

Wednesday update with one pic. I planted the Candida dented-seed test this morning:

Also, for the record, today is flip day 1 for the Candida in the Big Gulp.

On to the quotes!
Just when you thought you were rid of me.
With a bit of luck and good planning on my part, this will never be a thing.
So the JH cutting has black leaves but the Sour G cutting doesn't? That's confounding.
The JH got the black leaves, the Sour G just has some standard clone yellowing. It's been 13 days...should I float the stems out to check for roots yet?
Excuse you BTW!
I didn't burp, I sneezed, so I think you've confused your social conventions. We really need to straighten this out before we do a joint grow. :cheesygrinsmiley:

:thanks: BigD!

And I believe you're right about the RD clones...they do look too good to dump after all this.
Red Dragons make soaring gifts.
That's what I usually do with my clones, but at the moment I have no one to take any. They'll need to go soon as they are getting too big for their britches.

I'm surprised that you haven't looked yet. You're a patient fella.
