InTheShed Grows Inside & Out: Jump In Any Time

Good Day Shed, I don't know how I missed checking in on your Journals, but I did. Guess I'm still quite a bit of a 420 Noob!
Just curious, about this grow. When did you start the Golden Leaf in the above picture dated May 1st. At the beginning of this journal or is this another. It is quite beautiful. I guess I have a lot of catching up with 130+ pages here. Or you can give me the highlights???
Welcome BTz! :welcome:

No need to start at the beginning. The first 28 pages alone are littered with dead clones! Here is the Cliff notes version: I previously grew only autos. Now I have 5 photos and an Auto Masszar. The photos are: AK-47 (monstercrop clone taken in October - currently on 12/12 in the bike shed dark box at night), Gold Leaf (monstercrop clone taken in October), Sour G seed (Sour Diesel x Gorilla Bomb from Rooster Farms), an AK clone I finally managed to get to survive, and a brand new Haze Xtreme!

I grow outside during the day and some are in the shed under a MarsHydro 300 at night.

Feel free scan pages for pictures you like and feel free to ask any questions about anything from plant growing to child rearing to topical pain oils and anything in between. I don't smoke or take capsules, but I do use the topical oil. My wife is the smoker and really I grow for her meds and enjoyment.

Sorted!

LOL. We'll wait!

At some point, you and I will need to chat about your making oil for topical application. Being an older guy, I've got plenty of aches and pains and some that show up out of no where with a vengeance. From what I've seen the commercially purchased products are rather expensive, if I could figure out a yield benefit analyses I might have another growing purpose. After all it looks like I'm going to have much more than I could ever smoke by the end of this year.

I've done a lot of research on topicals, use them, and have friends who use them...so hit me up here with any questions!

well heres a prime example of a luxury problem ;) ... but yea
... artritis can be a bitch ... topical applications could mitigate that pain via anti inflammatory effects ;)

I'll do a bit of research first, however if you have any particular web sites you feel will be a great place to start reading about making Topical Oils that would be very helpful. I will ask since you said you don't smoke, do TO get you high in any way? Do they smell like weed when you rub them in.

Yep - my topical oil (like Shed i’m happy with the oil and dont need to dilute it further into a cream or anything) works straight away. Used tooucally it goes straight tobthe CB2 receptors on the nerve (i think thats right - Shed?).

And while we’re in the topic, Shed - do you have some references you could point me to about how theres no absorption into blood with a topical. I have someone who tried mine and swears she was high from it. I kept saying “i’m sure that’s not possible” but she is adamant. I need to understand this better so i can talk to people about it. Is it possible to get high from it if its applied to that area where the cervical spine meets the thoracic? You know that spot SweetSue refers to alot - she talks about ‘straight to the brain without the euphoria’ via that spot. Ill ask her more aboit that too - but i’m most intetested in what you can direct me towards about this question because i know youve looked into it a great deal :thumb:

Oh, while Pt (the bug man) is hanging around, and in honor of @Amy Gardner critter corner posts, look what was on my breakfast bar last night! A June bug on May 7th! It's so confused o_O.

Delightful June Bug, all out of whack poor critta! - funny... becasue of the way we pronounce stuff, i’d always thought they were ‘Dune’ Bug!

And you know, i never heard a peep from Pt about those insects i was wanting to ask him about... 2 direct requests... no cigar... makes me wonder... am i really here?

What? Wait... Where? Was that Amy?

Save your time BTz. I have done a lot of the research already. If for some reason you don't like the info I give you, feel free to start from there. But don't start with google. Start with Shed :).

Topicals are not traditionally absorbed into the bloodstream, so they don't get you high or show up on drug tests. I say traditionally because it is possible to make transdermal patches that do, but it's not what we're doing here.

They smell like weed for a while and then it goes away unless you stick your nose in my neck. I have never had someone tell me I smell like weed when I use it. You can also add essential oils to the final product to mask the smell. Lavender is a common oil for that but you can use anything that you enjoy the smell of.

There may be people who are incredibly sensitive to THC that absorb it through the skin (or are very suggestible), but from what I've read (sorry I don't have the links), the THC molecule is too large to pass through the layers of derma to get to the blood without a specialized carrier (not the oils we use). What THC does do (and this is why it works) is get to the nerve endings under the skin to short circuit the pain signals. This is one reason the spot at the top of the spine works so well (first mentioned in a Green Flower video I have somewhere). That spot contains unmyelinated nerve endings, so they are less protected than other spots in the body.

I don't think SS means straight to the brain in terms of euphoria, I think she is referring to the nerve pathways being close to the brain/spine interface there.

I hope that was a little bit helpful anyway!

the lipids we use to dissolve the cannabinoids are way bigger molecules if im not mistaken ... it does absorb into the skin and subdermis and will stay in the fatcells there to have a timed effect on the surrounding tissues untill it gets metabolised and even those metabolites are lipofile and stay there for a while ... so if you were to take a bath filled with topical oil i guarantee you will get high and beyond but just a sore rub wont get enough cannabinoids in the blood and to the brain to have a effect there
