InTheShed Grows Inside & Out: Jump In Any Time

Perpetual pineapples..... hmmm lol how big of a bucket? One every 2 years is nuts. It makes me think how much the wife eats pineapple. She’s definitely ate 400 years worth of pineapples lol she’s taking more than her fair share. Lol
I'm sure the Dole family is happy to have her as a customer :). My biggest is in 10 gallon plastic but I'm pretty sure my last two were closer to 7 gallon. They take no care at all...well drained soil and sun. Water once a week or less. Transplant twice. Easy. Harder up near Canadia though for sure ;).

Any thoughts on the Sour G leaves? Are you thinking boron deficiency too?

I’m thinking she probably doesn’t need any big bloom at the moment. It’s not flowering right?
Big Bloom is just: micro-brewed formula incorporates earthworm castings, bat guano and other high test organic ingredients that offer a full range of nutrients. Norwegian kelp improves nutrient uptake and increases yields.

It's misnamed with the word Bloom in it. Even FoxFarms recommends it starting week 2.

More often than not it’s an introduction of something liquid the plant is being forced to absorb that it’s not really looking for at the moment than it is to be lacking something else in a soil grow. Pretty much all soil contains all the vital elements like boron and magnesium calcium so very rarely is it one of those issues in soil unless the ph is out of whack. And if your under 7.0 like you said then it’s definitely not that. So that leads me to believe it’s something in the liquid diet she may not be ready for or already has enough of in her current state. So maybe she’s not really calling for potassium or phosphorus at the moment and it’s making her respond slightly because it’s still able to use most of it. But it’s probably just telling you to knock it off and give me a little more nitrogen right now

LOL! This is why you need to stay here. I fed weak nutes on top of the flush this morning so I'll see if that helps. My worry was the very tight growth and the leaves. It was stretching nicely there for a while and then it started looking like a different plant. Interesting thing is that Gold Leaf did the same thing a day later.

Gonna let them take a break for a while and see if it settles out.

:thanks:

The weight I get on a pineapple is greater than any malawi ever grown! It's worth it :). And it produces its own offspring with no CS spraying needed. Perpetual pineapples.

Next time you should tag @TheMadDabber to make sure he sees your recommendation! One of the best parts of the redesign of the site!

Thanks Ripe! I hope so. Just in case, see below:

Happy Tuesday y'all. I decided to do something about the Sour G leaves, and the Gold Leaf leaves were looking that way too. I checked the underside but didn't see any bugs. Tomorrow I'll dig out the loupe and check for tiny ones.
Sour G (water in the notch from flushing overspray):

Gold Leaf:

So I tested the pH of the soil (6.9) and then I flushed them both to around tap +250 TDS (initial runoff pH ~6.4). Nothing strange there. Anyway, I mixed up a gallon of nutes with:
½ tsp Armor Si
5 ml cal/mag+
1 tsp Grow Big
3 tbs Big Bloom
Sour G got about 1/3 of that and Gold Leaf got the rest. The smaller clones got the runoff. Let's see how it goes.

Oh...I set the alarm for 30 minutes early and I was still late for work. Flushing takes longer than I think!
Haha I was late for work by 30 mins today for the same reason! #flushingaplant

Another good idea for the worm bin would be to compost all that manure (assuming its set out for ~6 weeks) and then add that to your worm bin. Worms loveee the stuff. Barley straw mulch and rice hulls make up some good bulk as well and the latter contains lots of silica!
Ive seen lots of people try to avoid carbon sources that bring nothing else to the table (cardboard, newspaper, etc.) The quality of castings/vermi will suffer slightly with things of no nutritional value ig is what I'm saying. If nothing else just add some quality amendments to the worm bin that way when its time to use it you'll have everything you need in there. Neem and kelp are 2 things I wouldnt leave out! Food for thought!

I'm sure you'll figure it out.
Thanks for the vote of confidence Rider! I hope so. I've never had to keep a pot plant alive this long before :).

It's manure that's been blended into the seed topper so does that qualify as composted? I've had that bag way more than 6 weeks. They should cook their soil before they sell it but Blew said not to add any more so I'm going with dirt from my garden to bury the worms. They've got all the food I blended plus 2 tomatoes, broccoli, and lint. Not a lot of cooking going on at the moment :). Lots of teabags though, my wife is British.

Took a chance in the grey morning fog and left the plants out on the table. I hope the sun comes out or I'll have been played by the weather folk.

Here is the AK on flip day 10:

So far I'm getting lucky on the stretch. From seed it's supposed to max out at 32". Less stretch = smaller buds though, yes?

More pistils!

Auto Masszar on day 9. Saw some fungus gnats this morning so I dusted the soil with DE after the pics:

And I got my WORMS this morning :). Thanks @Blew Hiller :thanks:. I'll do my best to keep them alive and happy!

Nice! Congrats! #wormdaddy
Beautiful tree there:)
Thanks #forcedfriend! Worm update tomorrow.
so you literally are gonna open a can of worms ;)
Close enough!
btw i tried counting budsites on AK its at least 40 ... o_O
Thanks for the count Pt :thanks:. It will be easier when they're really pistil balls. I get the feeling that without a lot of stretch these buds will be small and dense as opposed to tall colas. I'm okay with that especially since it gets carried around 3x a day! Of course, they could stretch for another 2 weeks for all I know :).

Hey Dabbers, check out True Living Organics: The Ultimate Guide to Growing All-Natural Marijuana Indoors by The Rev. The best book I've read on the subject. An unexpected recommendation coming from a hydro guy, I'm sure, but trust me on this one!
Awesome!!! No worries. You And I are similar in the respect that the learning and info discovery is 90% of the fun.

:thanks:
