Thanks! It's been a lot of work so far, but I'm not complaining.
For real, I could not do this without CFL's. Even the smallest little 150w HPS on the market wouldn't fit into this space, have to save that for the next location (which will hopefully be an actual room rather than a small closet.)

And be careful with the one in the sonic cup, I've heard of roots digging themselves in to styrofoam, forcing you to tug and possibly break roots in a future transplant.

Today's Update

Here's the fan I was working on yesterday, I butchered the cage with some wire cutters, I think it'll fit now.

Here are today's pics of Jeri Main... I'm a little concerned about the leaf in the third pic. I figured the yellowing was just a little N deficiency but now it has that same burned brown looking area in the middle of the leaf that the seedlings had... Does anybody have an idea what may be causing that... Does it look like N deficiency or something else? I looked [THREAD=81275]here[/THREAD], but I just can't tell from the pics.

Tonight I was able to transplant 6 more seedlings... So, 10 down and 10 to go.

Didn't get to work on the grow cabinet tonight, but tomorrow's another day... tgif!

lol, yeah, I thought it would be fitting to grow popcorn in a popcorn container.

hmm, thanks! I hadn't thought of that. I'm having that exact problem with these gd jiffy pot tray things, definitely don't want to have the same problem with larger plants, I'll have to keep a close eye on 'em.

Update w/ pics

Today's Update

Switched Jeri Main to flowering nutes today 11-35-15 w/ minor elements.

Oops... I used full strength by mistake. I had intended to mix half strength but then ended up using 1/2 the amount of water and forgot to adjust the nutes. Man, I swear I'm stupid when I don't smoke (I'm out of good bud at the moment.)

These are the nutes I'm using. I read that Orchids like a pH from 6.5 to 5.5 so I'm assuming these nutes are adjusted accordingly. I tested the pH of the nute solution and the test strip turned yellow, which is not on the chart, but I assume yellow would be around 6.0-5.8, I don't have a pic of the test strip, it turned the same color as the yellow square on the row labeled Total Alkalinity (KH) ppm.

There is no hydro shop in this town, and ordering online is out of the question for now, so... I'm hoping to use this for the rest of flowering (until 2 weeks before harvest), but I'm not exactly sure how much I should be using or how often I should be using it. Can anyone help out with this?


In other news, I put 4 beans in a wet paper towel tonight. I'm really excited about these, they are a different unknown high-grade medical/commercial quality strain, the same one I grew for my [thread=97840]first grow[/thread]. One of nicest strains I've ever smoked, I just wish I knew what it's called!
Even though they will be grown in this cabinet as part of this perpetual harvest, I'm going to start a separate journal for them, I think this one is already a little to cluttered. Also, I may move two of them outside for a seed crop. I'll post a link to the new journal in the next update...

I have been using that product for awhile my friend....half the spoon that comes with it to one gallon of water...is full strength for indoor plants (small spoon/TEASPOON) To start i would mix one gallon full strength and pour one third in two empty gallons then fill all three....when those are gone do same with one empty gallon to make half strength then finally make full strength if plant looks like it can take it...but only feed it every other to 3rd watering of nukes.
I like to add a table spoon of molasses with my nukes to give me 11/35/19 plus other elements from molasses like iron and minor ones. It has worked for me so far and didnt want to use MG .....so this is a nice second if no hydro shop or if ya don't want to order online...I use it for same reason.....any question feel free to page me...and if ya want to see some results from the orchid bloom check out my grow. Looks like you have a army ready to go...will keep eye on journal... looks great so far

> Jeri Main looks good today, I pruned most of the yellow and burned leaves from her. No signs of new yellowing. I didn't take any pics of her tonight. Some of her oldest white hairs have started to turn dark red and lay down already, so I'm thinking this strain may have a short flowering time. It seems like it took until week 5 or 6 for the last strain I grew to start doing that, I don't really have enough experience to know for sure...

I would have finished them all but I ran out of jiffy starting mix and it was 3am.

The seedlings are all looking better now that I fed them with pH corrected nute solution.

Tonight I also watered some of transplants from the other day with filtered/distilled water, with pH adjusted to 6.2.

Today's Update

The seedlings are now about 6 weeks old.

I didn't do anything with the seedlings today other than check on them. They look good, they are starting to get bigger now that I fixed the pH and transplanted most of them. Will transplant the last 4 tomorrow.

Jerri Main is entering week 4 of flowering.

She is looking good. The yellowing and browning of the fan leaves seems to have stopped.

I checked the flowers today and it seams like overnight, all of the sudden they all have noticeable tricombs on them. Even the young flowers on the lower branches have them.

My camera seems to take pretty good close-ups but the wide shots always suck. I'll take her out of the grow cab sometime soon so I can take a better wide shot. It's 1am and I'm smoking a bowl and going to bed, I have to be up at 8am tomorrow. Yesss!

Today's Update

Jeri Main is still looking good, here's a shot taken moments ago, her buds are getting bigger every day!

I think I nute burned her just a little by giving her full strength flowering nutes by mistake the other day, but it looks minor, she'll probably get only water for the next couple of waterings.

I had the seedlings under the fan all day while I was gone and the two in the back row dried out and almost died... The one on the right perked back up when I gave them some water, the one on the left seems to be perking up slowly, hopefully it will make it, say a little prayer for it.

Some of the first seedlings I transplanted have almost doubled in size, they are all looking happy.

That's it for today... off to bed, have to be up at 8am again tomorrow.

Looking super....buds are comming along nicely....i love when leaves perk up like last pic means they happy....droppy for me has been cause i kept soil too wet once i let it dry a bit they perk up as well. Looking good brother grower ....keep it green and growing

Today's Update w/ lots of pics

Jeri Main was starting to burn on all the leaves so I did a mini-flush tonight right before lights out. She's in a 2.3 qt container so I just flushed with 2.3 qt of distilled, pH corrected water. If that doesn't help, I'll go ahead and do a full flush with 3x the water. I want to avoid doing that because I don't want to fuck up the yield. Here's a lot of pics... Info on the seedlings after these pics.

The seedlings are growing by leaps and bounds since being transplanted. Here are pics of all of them...

As you can see, the seedling that almost died has gone crazy and is growing all twisted and shit... ???

That's it for today. I hope to transplant the last 4 seedlings tomorrow, I may put the twisted one out of its misery, or not, I'm not sure yet. Probably won't get a chance to work on the grow cab until this weekend. I need to get the door on there so I can move all the vegging plants in there asap.

For now I'm about to smoke some of this and go to bed...
