I agree, they are expensive(ish) but I’m the type of person, that if I’m smoking out of glass, the screen should be glass. I never smoke out of metal but metal screens belong with metal pipes.

I usually break my pipes often (haven’t in a while, knock on wood) but I always pay for the pipe then ask if they have any glass screens they can throw in for free. I’ve had three packs of town given to me. Sometimes they just give singles, but sometimes you get the awesome pothead working! The trick is to keep them in the bowl without tapping the ash out a few times so the screen almost gets rezed into place, then you don’t lose them as often. Just like everything they get caked up, just heat it up and remove the screen, then burn or pick off the built up crap. Put back in and repeat.

Argh! Had to head into the city on Friday night for a late holiday party. We stayed over night but I forgot to fill up the humidifier before we left, and at some point it ran out of water. Came home to some crispy buds that had been sitting in 40% humidity for probably 12 hours. The unfortunate part here is that I had to planned to do the dry trim and jarring on Saturday when we got home, so they were pretty much ready ready. I even bumped the humidity up a few % that day to delay a bit.

She was a big girl and it took two of us probably around 4 hours total to chop up. I could feel she was way more dry than the gelato, and it was sort of a bittersweet trimming day. I was really hoping to get a good cure on this stuff, as I was looking forward to smoking some of it. For now, the plan will be to turn most of it into rosin or maybe an ice water extraction.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, after 24h most of the jars were between 55-60% RH on my mini hygrometers.

Definitely, just a bit disappointed in myself for letting it happen. But when put into perspective I'm pretty damn happy to be walking away with ~470g between two plants.
