In The Lab

Just did mine today. If you haven't gotten totes yet the bigger 54 gal ones. They are perfect for mixing your amendment. I took Canad's advice and it was super easy.

Mixing in the totes is OK , but it's a little easier if ya just spread a tarp out on your basement floor (like in my journal) and mix away with a flat shovel...works great , easy , fast clean up..private times. cheers and once again welcome Born!:high-five::circle-of-love:

My first kit soil was mixed in a 18 CU FT mortar mixer. Very easy.... lol

I've also mixed a few Promix/EWC soils on my carport. I clean the concrete with hose and let dry. Dump everything into a pile and keep shoveling until mixed well. Then I spread it flat to about 6-8 inches deep. Evenly apply water, let sit for a few minutes/beers... then shovel into a pile again.

Works well if you have finished concrete in garage or carport. Not good on brushed concrete like a driveway.

I did that with the worm castings and pro mix. I felt like adding the amendment and water to the totes for mixing worked better for me cause I was making a mess with the tarp. It was a 10x12 but didn't feel big enough.

The cement mixer is ideal, sir. One day...

I think Doc uses a cement mixer. If you do use one Doc, do you know what capacity the mixer is?

My first DBHBB batch is started. I mixed everything evenly in the totes by hand then added the water and mixed again by hand. It got mixed very well.

Should I start a journal now or wait until im ready to drop the plants? If I do clones is it OK to take them from plants im currently growing using nutes or should I start from seed? I am in no rush.

Are you going to journal your high brix grow? I hope so. I'm new myself, and love to follow the other new brixers.

I will masonman, just not sure if I should start now or when I'm ready to drop some plants.

The born, I went with two 30 gallon totes and it worked well, still some space at the top.

Hi Major! I used one bag of perlite which was about 8 quarts I think...

Rock on!

You could start one now if you like. I'll pull up a front row seat and watch the previews.

I will start one soon. I'm over reading yours and then have a few others I want to read. I want to try to avoid asking as many questions as I did with my first journal but at the same time, I want to get this right so I'm not wasting my time and money and am turning out the best medicine possible.

Lots of good juicy tid-bits of growing tips can be found in the new kit user journals. The more experienced tend to drop nuggets (pardon the pun) of information that gets left out of the advanced journals sometimes.

Glad the 30gal worked for you! Looks like we'll be starting around the same time if you plan to plant after a month long cook. Im debating doing a journal..

I highly recommend starting a journal. Stop by my first one, see link in my sig, and see how many awesome people helped me since I had no idea what I was doing, still learning but it's coming along pretty good. It'll be great to start at the same time so we can help each other.

**Paging Doc Bud ** Long time Canna Coco Grower looking to transition to your amazing Hi-Brix system, all these journals have me drooling over my keyboard :bravo: and I need to get in on this. I am a complete Hi-Brix newb ready to jump in head first. I would love to purchase your kit , I am in Washington state . If you would be so kind to throw me a PM with some details for ordering that would be amazing. I am about 35 days from harvest and would love my next crop to be from your kit.

:thanks: :cheertwo:
