Icemud's Grow 8.0 - New Intelligent-Gro LED - 2 x IGRO-228 LED - Testing & Review

Re: Icemud's Grow 8.0 - New Intelligent-Gro LED - 2 x IGRO-228 LED - Testing And Revi

I did another quick video update of the grow as well. Hope you guys enjoy.

I like the videos because they give a different visual perspective of the grow size and such.. I just wish I had a normal light to film with so the videos weren't bright pink :)

I've seen some growers who just hold the lens from their LED eye protection over the camera lens and it's like light-correction magic! :)

OK...drumroll please!!! LOL Here are the spectrum charts taken with a spectroradiometer to show the output spectrum for the Intelligent Gro 2 Lights...
Full intensity, 100% on all 3 channels.

WOW, you have the best toys it seems.

Could you let us in on the cost of such a toy and the program you used to illustrate your findings.

Thanks Labexperiment.

These toys are way out of my budget, were talking thousands of dollars for a spectroradiometer. The tests were actually done by a lab with lab grade equipment and spectroradiometer. I don't know what the model/brand is of the meter, but I know they all are upwards of $3000-10,000 or more :)

Is it possible to get a comparison charts for original lights? :peace:

I have the umol readings, I'm tired tonight so I will upload them tomorrow if I get a chance. If I forget, just remind me :)

What if you own an older model like we do, and wanted to expand our system.

Are the new units compatible with the old?

Will they work as one under the same controler?

I'm just wondering because I'm loving my Intelligent Gro.

But one day I may like to expand my current system.

I will see if I can find out an answer for you on that. I am guessing they will, but still will confirm it. I'm definitely loving my Intelligent Gro panels as well. I swear at day 30 I don't think I ever have had such frosty plants :)

Re: Icemud's Grow 8.0 - New Intelligent-Gro LED - 2 x IGRO-228 LED - Testing And Revi

Gen 2 is looking great...hopefully the prices stay right in line with the Gen1 lights. These lights are looking more and more like the one's I will purchase after my move in a few months.

And...a little birdy told me that external venting solutions for the LED's are seriously being looked at right now. With these bigger and bigger LED's coming out, venting will be a priority...looks like they may try and stay ahead of the curve. Impressive company so far...

I definitely am excited about these Gen 2 lights... especially after I saw the spectroradiometer tests and umol readings :) I know that there are many things being considered on the Gen 3 lights which are still in concept stage but I think we will be seeing a lot of good things in the future of Intelligent Gro :)

I have to say, my Gen 1 are doing great so I can't even imagine how these Gen2 will be with more umol and fuller blue spectrum.. :) cant wait!

Re: Icemud's Grow 8.0 - New Intelligent-Gro LED - 2 x IGRO-228 LED - Testing And Revi

Unfortunately I had to pass on the i-Gro 2.0, but seeing the results everyone is getting, I'm not the least bit less happy about getting a 1.0 :)

Icemud, how long are you thinking these strains are going to go? Is this more or less the halfway point in flowering? Two thirds? Because man, if this is what halfway looks like, harvest time is going to be jaw-dropping! These pics are totally inspiring me to finish building my cab...
:headbang:

Hey Boscoe!! I agree, I couldn't be happier with the Igro 1.0 versions :) I currently am on day 33 of flowering, and since I never have run these strains before, I am not quite sure how long they will go. (except the Ogiesel). Typically in my setup I generally see them go about 65 days minimum and have had some strains even go 100 days, but the average is usually around 70-80 days. So I would say that I am almost half way there :) about 1 more month to go, and then it should be getting close :) I definitely have to say for this early in the grow the buds are very good sized and full of trichomes :) I can't believe what it will look like in a month :)

Re: Icemud's Grow 8.0 - New Intelligent-Gro LED - 2 x IGRO-228 LED - Testing And Revi

My suggestions for gen 3 lights is a built in timer for an external device.

Programmable down to the second.

Also a way to integrate the controller with your home PC.

Maybe you could even monitor your garden over the web.

Re: Icemud's Grow 8.0 - New Intelligent-Gro LED - 2 x IGRO-228 LED - Testing And Revi

I think a programmable calendar would be awesome. I like the idea of 20 hour days in veg- 17-3 and 12-8 flower.

Re: Icemud's Grow 8.0 - New Intelligent-Gro LED - 2 x IGRO-228 LED - Testing And Revi

Being able to program detailed intensity/spectra changes across an entire grow cycle would be super convenient! It would also allow for some really interesting experimentation that home growers haven't been able to participate in previously. I'm sure someone will discover something amazing! :)

Re: Icemud's Grow 8.0 - New Intelligent-Gro LED - 2 x IGRO-228 LED - Testing And Revi

Hey everyone,

So today makes day 34 of flowering and the girls are getting thicker, frostier and looking amazing!!!

Today I gave them a feeding of earth juice plus a couple additives:

5 gallons of water:
60ml of EJ grow
60ml of EJ bloom
10ml of humic acid
40ml of General Organics cal/mag
40ml of SNS Bloom boost.

I also gave the girls a foliar spray of a mixture of bloomit, amaze, pgr along with carboload, and fulvic acid.

They are looking extremely good :)

Here are today's photos!!! Enjoy everyone!

Awesome! :thumb:

How many inches away are the lights from the canopy now?

Re: Icemud's Grow 8.0 - New Intelligent-Gro LED - 2 x IGRO-228 LED - Testing And Revi

Thanks for the great question, toker69. I have also been wondering about the height of the lights.

Is temperature or coverage the limiting factor in how close you can place the lights?

I'm not sure, and the lights are already off, but I will measure for you tommorrow. I am estimating between 15"-20" away from top of canopy. I would put them closer, but then the footprint doesn't cover the outside edges.
