Today makes day 42 of flowering in my garden, and these girls are looking really good, for the most part
2 days ago I gave them a major defoliation and lolipopping removing all the extra larf that has developed and was not showing strong budding. I also removed about a plastic grocery bags worth of leaves to open up the canopy as light penetration was not getting through in a few areas because of my tent being overcrowded.
I decided to dump the last batch of nutrient tea as it just wasn't looking right and so I fed them instead a feeding of r/o water, botanicare pro bloom, terpenator, yucca extract.
I have to say the fragrance has really picked up, thankful for carbon scrubbers
when I open the tent it just reaks like stinky goodness
The harlequin I am really disappointed in, and I really think that its just a dud this round, as it just isn't growing buds really and they are tiny in comparison to the other plants and the leaf health is just garbage. I am not certain but I think a while back I cloned her from a sick plant, that was nutrient deficient. The whole veg and flower process so far it has just been hell with trying to make her happy, and I pretty much gave up but just will finish her out. Now the interesting part is that I have clones of her that I took when she was in veg, and they both are also showing leaf issues, in early veg, but all the other plants are healthy.. so I'm wondering if somewhere along the lines of cloning and recloning her i messed up her DNA or something and its passing each time I clone it... ? not sure.. anyhow, I may make the harlequin the next seed project after this current one is finished, so I can have seeds, cross her with all my other strains, and then not have to have the plant arround.
The little buds that did develop are resin coated and amazingly terpy. The smell is that of a new product, like new carpet, almost a chemical smell. Same as the times I grew her before, but seems to be much more potent smelling this run, even with the issues along the way..
All the other plants howerver are looking great, and even though I still have 20 something days to go with them, they are really starting to fill in more and more by the day. I think that by harvest these things will hopefully have doubled in size but only time will tell.
