Icemud Goes LED - Featuring Top LED Grow - Cherry Pie GSC/OGiesel/SFV OG/UVH OG

Re: Icemud Goes LED: Featuring Top LED Grow: Cherry Pie - GSC - OGiesel - SFV OG - UV

I usually just lurk over these journals but question Ice; the Amaze/Bloomit people say along with these products you should also use Dextrose as part of the spray program? Do you(Sugar?)

I use something similar by advanced nutrients called liquid carboload. Deoxyribose..15 % Lyxose 15 %. Ribose 20%. Xylulose 20 % Xylose 20% with 10% inactive ingredients.

It works in a similar mannor by bonding to phosphates and other ions and helps pull them into the plant due to the polarity. I probably will get dextrose when I run out of carboload, but so far with my brix readings the way they are, I don't know if I will change anything :) so far the carboload is working well :)

yo Guys

What is the formula for that mix? How much sugar goes in the solution by volume?

Thank you thank you

Ludweed

I am using 10-15ml per 1/2 gallon of water...

Question, professor, for those of us students that use powdered dextrose(always one in a class, eh?)
How much powdered dextrose would you use in gallon? TYIA

Yes that would help me as well. I just nabbed a package of powder on Ebay.

Dextrose is one of those ingredients where rapacious vendors will happily fleece the unsuspecting.

The manufacturer of bloomit and amaze states this...

1 – 2 qts/acre AMAZE
1 qt/acre PGR
3 lbs Dextrose
20 gal/acre Water

So if my math is correct dividing 3lbs by 20 gallons would equal .15 oz (dry) of dextrose per gallon, which equals 2.5grams of dextrose per gallon.

Re: Icemud Goes LED: Featuring Top LED Grow: Cherry Pie - GSC - OGiesel - SFV OG - UV

Not sure if youre correct.. :)
3lbs is 48 oz..divided by 20 = 2.4 oz is approx 68 gms..

OOPs..ur right.. I forgot to change it to grams.... so yeah 2.4 oz would be 68 grams per gallon...ur right... wow that sounds like a lot of dextrose for a gallon...

I agree.
Reminds me of a question I have regarding the large scale foliage sprays from that lab. Are these dosages fed into a spray machine or irrigation system that dilute with more water? Is 20 gallons of the final mix enough for an acre of spraying?

With the Amaze and Bloomit and PGR, I actually had to undercut the recommended amount by about half because it was too strong for my plants and left white spots (burns) on the leaves..

They say 1-2 quarts of amaze per 20 gallons of water...with 1 quart = 32 oz, per their reccomendation, that means 1.6 fl oz per gallon which is too much. I have found that 1oz or less per gallon seems to be about right, and for the pgr I do about 1/2 fl oz per 1 gallon of water.

I wonder the same as well if they further dilute with more water....hmmm... Well at least I know about 1oz per gallon has been working :)

Ice, when you say PGR are you refering to Plant Growth Regulator. Because I was reading how these hormones are poisonous and are banned for use in food crops, okay for flowers; but we are consuming these flowers?

PGR is a product designed by a lab (can't mention the name here) that is developed from Seaweed extracts and other things. Seaweed extract contain's many PGR's as well as many other goodies for the plants :) Lab designed hormones are the ones I believe you may be referring to and I don't believe that those are in the PGR spray I use, however I am not 100% sure either. The products are made by an agricultural lab so I don't believe they would have products that would be banned since that is their industry they service.

From their website
PGR:

A liquid seaweed-based product from ********* that provides seaweed-derived auxins and cytokinins. These natural plant regulators cause cells to elongate and divide...

Serving as a Plant Growth Regulator, PGR is derived from seaweed and contains amino acids, long chain sugars, macro and micro nutrients, and of course, plant growth regulators. Since plant growth and development is controlled by plant growth regulators—or hormones—foliar applying PGR enhances plant growth and development by encouraging cell elongation and division resulting in larger produce, extended shelf life, improved plant vigor, and better fruit set.

I was reading on this University of Florida website PI-102/PI139: Plant Growth Regulators about PGRs. WOW. There like steroids for plants. Although, there are many different types and some actually inhibit plant growth - these are used on lawn grass, to limit plant growth so you can mow less. So, I wonder which hormones are in International AG Labs PGR formula.

Re: Icemud Goes LED: Featuring Top LED Grow: Cherry Pie - GSC - OGiesel - SFV OG - UV

Been doing a bit more research on these plant hormones. First, there are several types that are used and sold for different purposes. For example:

449px-Gib_sprout.jpg

This is Gibberellin and it causes growth spurt in cannabis, regulate growth and influence various developmental processes, including stem elongation, germination, dormancy, flowering, sex expression, enzyme induction, and leaf and fruit senescence : Then there's Paclobutrazol (PBZ) which is a growth inhibitor - use for weed control.

There are many others. I wonder which hormones are in the International AG Labs PGR product; I didn't see this detail anywhere on their website.

Re: Icemud Goes LED: Featuring Top LED Grow: Cherry Pie - GSC - OGiesel - SFV OG - UV

i have done some research on this too, and the "good" pgr comes from seaweed and is basically organic seems seaweed is the fastest growing plant on earth growing many feet per night for some species, and is loaded with natural growth hormones so if the pgr your using is based on seaweed extract there should be no safety concern, i use Alaskan brand seaweed/kelp liquid extract often and i notice a significant boost to growth especially in veg , i use it as a foliar feed, and i also notice it swells small buds i dont use it late in flower since it seems to push vegetative growth and makes buds leafier, but different brands and types boost different stages of growth, the pgr made by the co. icemud is using is seaweed based i believe i use it also and so far i have not grown a third arm out my back or antlers so i think its good stuff, the ppl that make it are big time about high brix and bringing health back to food ,it is just a guess but it seems counterproductive for them to use unsafe things in their products,,just my 2 cents

Re: Icemud Goes LED: Featuring Top LED Grow: Cherry Pie - GSC - OGiesel - SFV OG - UV

You are correct BID, the Amaze/Bloomit/PGR company - International Ag Labs - states on their PGR product page :
Serving as a Plant Growth Regulator, PGR is derived from seaweed and contains amino acids, long chain sugars, macro and micro nutrients, and of course, plant growth regulators. Since plant growth and development is controlled by plant growth regulators—or hormones—foliar applying PGR enhances plant growth and development by encouraging cell elongation and division resulting in larger produce, extended shelf life, improved plant vigor, and better fruit set.
They do extract the growth hormones from seaweed. Its just that I have read that there are several hormones that can be extracted, plus there are others available, I wish they listed the names of the hormones they utilized. Some are pretty amazing.
