Congrats on the early harvest! Too much weed is way better than the opposite, and your neighbors can become close friends as you spread the love around. :)

Strongest THC content will involve waiting as long as possible outside, as I mentioned earlier in your thread here.
I wish I could get better pictures to show you how pretty everything looks I feel like I should win an award for a first time grower with the largest harvest LOL however we won’t know till we hear it and smoke it!

HELP! i read back on your post that said.. "We hand pluck all the fan leaves when wet, then halfway through the hang we go back in and start working on trimming the sugars." what do you mean by 1/2way through the hang ? I'm trimming a random bottom branch... I know you remove the big fan leaves. Most people I've seen go in and cut the sugar leaves stem off and remove them too. I have also seen people leave the bud intact on the stem and just trim back the little sugar leaves so it kind looks like a big turd. lol I'm not sure what the hell i'm doing or where to stop cutting! should i just let these buds dry the way I've wet trimmed them, or cut them down into really tiny buds? some of these are jsut bottom branches that didn't get much light, but i thought they were worth saving no? there must be a lot of THC on these tiny sugar leavesleaves so why cut them all the way off? I've watched so many you tube vids, but most of them are using plants that look scrawny auto flower and not super bushy and look nothing like mine! adding photos here now ..

Hi! Congrats on your harvest, don't mind me trolling about! Saw you have been through it and got through it in your grow. I use the same mesh to dry my buds, saw that and figured I would pop a line and check in. Good luck on your next adventures

Thank you for stopping by! I'm actually sending 2 samples to the lab today and testing my early harvest vs a plant that has not been harvested yet to make sure i captured the highest TCH possible, Will post results here. Where are you in your grow now?

The Bud wash was so amazing, really upped the the Humidity in my grow closet but finally came back to reasonable levels today. I'm drying with trimmed stems on hangers in my closet for about 3 days then i will trim down to buds and place on the mesh rack and let finish the dry in same closet. After that i planned on moving to mason jars for the slow burp and cure method with boveda 62% packs.

Experience is the only thing that will tell you where you like it best. As for too much weed, yea that is a good problem to have, sort of... haha. I have a bunch right now too, I'm just givin' it away .... It really makes me wonder about the prices at the dispensaries tho.
Here in Cali we pay about $65 for a 1/8 and then there are a ton of taxes! It's ridiculous!

I am on 30 something days on 5 autos and 1 pheno and I'm damn near at harvest, week away, for my pheno Amnesia...I wish I could send mine to a lab...I don't think we have that ability here

Good luck on your grow, Photo flower outdoor growing is so much diff than auto flower indoor. Good luck with yours!
Oh I know outdoor grows are something else. Just glad I always have a photo or two with it...

Yes, but not too late! I'm testing both early and later harvest in lab. Just see where i'm at will post results here.

$50 an 1/8th here at most dispensaries +tax. Here at home $100 for supplies for 6 harvestable plants giving me an estimated 10oz -16oz about $10 an oz. Yeah I'm good with what I grow.

Sorry for the delay! Here is a post I made about harvesting outside:

It's not so much that trichome color generally may not be as accurate outside as much as it is that amber may not be the best gauge outside.

@Amy Gardner always told me that outside amber isn't like tent amber because of the impact of the sun on trichomes, and BeezLuiz discovered that harvesting based on the standard tent-based reading of amber left him with very low THC numbers and zero CBN. Here are his tests results.

So we are harvesting later than we have in the past to see how that goes. I've taken to letting the plant tell me when it's done, including when the smell changes and it starts drinking much more slowly, in addition to the number of cloudy/clear trichomes.
This is great advice Shed, I decided its better not to wait for much amber as that means THC is degrading. So, why wait till you see a lot of amber? T he post you referred to was way to low of THC content by waiting from what I understand. Having said that I will harvest the rest of the 3 plants hopefully on Sunday October 10th.

That's the exact opposite of what I was saying, as BL harvesting outside by checking amber led to lower THC content. The idea is to wait for the clear to get cloudy and ignore the amber. That's what I meant by "we are harvesting later."

But you should do what feels comfortable, and the multiple lab tests will give you an idea of what worked best.

Yeah! As a first time grower i have spent a lot on this grow, $114 for 12 seeds and sprouted 11 seeds, 3 were males and didn't find out till they were flowering with seed pods, and spent $$$ of Fox farm soil and Nutes, Shears, pots, tents ETC, then gave 4 plants away as it was WAY too much WEED for me to manage, even the 4 i have are over whelming to care for. Sure hope the smoke is worth it all!

UHM.. you are confusing me, think thats what i meant. I'm not waiting to see amber, i'm going by cloudy trichomes NOT amber.

These two things seem to be opposite the way I read them:

I'm not waiting to see amber, i'm going by cloudy trichomes NOT amber.

BeezLuiz harvested his outside plants by gauging the amber trichome percentages the way we do in a tent. He found that his THC was too low. So now he (and others outside) are ignoring the amber and making sure that we have very few clear trichomes at harvest. We're harvesting by when the plant stops drinking and the cloudy trichomes.

exactly what i'm saying i'm NOT looking for AMBER instead going by the way my plants look, and all cloudy
not clear trichomes.

Takes money to get started that is for sure. Next year it will cost less. ;)
