How to Make Feminized Seeds With Colloidal Silver - Sponsored by Intelligent-Gro LED

Toker, do you see any big difference between vegging 18/6 and 16/8?

Re: How to Make Feminized Seeds with Colloidal Silver - Sponsored by Intelligent-Gro

Yes I sleep better! haha

Seriously tho I have noticed the leaves tend to droop when the plant wants to sleep.

Not so much when it's older, because the stems become more stiff.

But when young, and vegging fast it will tell you when it wants it's rest.

In the mourning of the next day the leaves are back to praising the sun.

Even before the lights come back on. This seems to follow a eight hour rest period.

So many factors play into plant size, so that question is kinda a hard on to answer.

Thanxx...

Re: How to Make Feminized Seeds with Colloidal Silver - Sponsored by Intelligent-Gro

I guess real studies could answer that question tho.

It would take two roomfuls of plants treated identically except for varying light schedules.

Then you could get average weights. Kinda hard to say from the average growers perspective.

Here ya go BAR. This is for you. :)

I thought I'd take two photos to demonstrate the sleepy time effect.

This first photo was taken last night, and shows the droopy leaves.

This second photo is from this morning, and show the sun seeking leaves.

I'm not at all claiming some kinda scientific discovery. haha

I just noticed my plants tend to act like this. What they're really doing idk?

Hey toker, Im still running my lights at 24/0. I have noticed over the past week that the ladies leaf tips are drooping. Do you think If I cut the light down to 16/8 or maybe 18/6 it will make a difference and the leaves will perk up? They have really never had any "sleep" since I began.

Re: How to Make Feminized Seeds with Colloidal Silver - Sponsored by Intelligent-Gro

Those pics are sweet. My leaves are drooping at the tips, not the entire fan leaf....

I can only give my opinion, because this discussion is widely debated, but I do think a rest period is beneficial to growing.

The schedules are also debated, and my thoughts were the plant shows you when it want's rest.

Maybe you mean clawing? It could be a nute problem.

Mine show some claw here and there, but to much shows you need to drop back on N in your NPK. lol

Ok, thanks. Its not all the leaves, just a few of them. Ill see how they are tonight. If no change, Ill just top off the res and dillute it with some fresh water.

Mine looks like the sleepy picture when I get home. Which as about an hour before the lights go out. I am running 20/4. Maybe I should try 18/6

Daylight hours can follow all those various light schedules naturally depending upon latitude, and season.

24 hour days, or nights are always happening at the earths opposing poles.

But the most lush plant growth on earth is between the 38th parallels.

At these latitudes the sun can be visible for up to 14 hours during the summer,

and as low as 10 hours during the winter. This includes both tropical, and subtropical regions.

Subtropical regions are also where the world's deserts exist, but with a source of water become lush.

We push our plants beyond these limits indoors to obtain maximum yields, and the fact that it works is obvious.

The evolution of the autoflower is thought to have taken place at a latitude 35º N to 60º N.

At 60º N the sun is visible for 19 hours during the summer, and 6 hours during the winter.

So the cannabis seeking to flower, and survive in this northern region became independent of light schedules.

Still I think such long daylight periods can be somewhat counter productive, and four hour nights to short.

I think that's why a lot of growers go with 18/6 because it closely imitates the autoflower region at summertime.

I grow mine with a 16/8 schedule mostly because I like to get 8 hours of sleep.

I like how my Intelligent-Gro LED's light schedule is programmable with a sunrise, and sunset.

I really think it takes things another step closer to a natural environment.

Spot on. Im actually changing my light schedule tonight, been working all day moving lights and boxes around for the new grow and decided to switch to 16/8 just to save a few more bucks a month. Maybe soon ill be able to get some new LEDs.

That's cool. I guess my 16/8 schedule does save me some bucks.

The Intelligent-Gro controller saves me even more money with it's sunrise, and sunset settings.

Here's a video made by 420 member Icemud. He's testing some LED's for Intelligent-Gro also.

It was pretty easy to setup, and the plants seem to love it.

Here's a link to Icemud's test grow!

I understand completely my friend.

But I can only recommend something I've tried myself.

This thing is built like a tank, and is doing great.

So I'm loving it. :green_heart:

The Pink Salad are doing great at about seven, eight, and nine days old.

PS-02.png

I'm just growing these out for smoke, and nothing heres getting sprayed with Colloidal Silver.

If they all get seeded because of the C5 pollen so be it! More feminized seeds. lol

I won't be pollinating them on purpose tho, but it's a waste of light to only grow the C5 auto.

Gotta use it, or just lose it.

The C5 auto has gotten really big. (mostly wide)

It's still only 22 inches tall, but has gotten 28 inches wide.

It's taken up half my grow space, and might be growing bigger still.

Day 16 of colloidal silver spraying, and it's about 37 days old.

I added my feet in this shot in honor of my friend Cronichemphog's new female seeds!

Re: How to Make Feminized Seeds with Colloidal Silver - Sponsored by Intelligent-Gro

Question.. I've searched through your posts for the age/point you start to spray them. I've seen on one you did it around day 20. But was there signs on the plant when you should start. I just don't want to miss the point when to force them to make pollen.

Awesome work BTW.
